She's been invading my mind for days now. Free me from these dragon age chains.

Q23: What does Rook wear in the off hours? Do they like dressing up?

I actually drew a ref for this question!! Haydee wears a looser version of the default Mourn Watcher casual clothing. Spending so much time wearing heavy armor can be tiring so she prefers a lighter outfit to wear during her time off. I think pre-Veilguard (specifically when she was younger), she probably dressed nicer to appease Myrna and Vorgoth. Lots of long skirts and buttons when she wasn't training.

She likes to dress up but only does so when prompted. Luckily Emmerich is so put together that she feels obligated to clean up some whenever she's with him.

Q26: Rook is in charge of the grocery list. What’s on it?

Girl dinners. Lots of salted/dried foods that count more as snacks than actual meals. Tea (and coffee for Neve. She doesn't trust that she'd pick out Lucanis's preferred beans). Cheeses and crackers to munch on.

Local gf never learned to properly cook growing up and mostly ate whatever she could mooch off of other people. She's the equivalent of Naruto drinking expired milk. Lucanis's cooking was literally the first real meal she had since leaving Nevarra. Send help.

Q45: Who was Rook’s closest friend before joining the Veilguard?

THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION BECAUSE I HAVE SO MANY DRAGON AGE OCS and literally none from Nevarra. Ngl she's probably closest emotionally (and one-sidedly) to Vorgoth. He was a mysterious cryptid but he was her mysterious cryptid paternal figure smh. Other than that she got along well with her fellow trainees. She didn't meet Emmerich pre-Veilguard since she was an awful student, only knew of him. She bonded with Varric quickly. Not only was he very charismatic but he also listened to all of her stories without judgement or trepidation over her being a Mourn Watcher. In only a short time he managed to earn her whole-hearted trust and loyalty.

shop's back open again after awesomecon 2024! which includes a brand new enamel pin, and kirby charity stickers! I'm running low of iwtv charms especially of Louis, so I'll be re-ordering more soon (and making new designs....eventually!)

because i don't have a secondary part time job (even tho I have a full time job) -- my shop is the only way I'm able to make comics/art/table at cons and share my work with folks, so every bit helps! I'm donating a portion of all proceeds to aid orgs including World Food Programme and to Connecting Gaza for eSims!

Oh boy oh boy oh boy, can you believe it's already December?

We sure can't :')

For those who don't know, Aussie and I started tabling at cons in July of 2022.  That means that July of 2023 was the end of our first official con cycle!!  We've had such an amazing time learning more about what it means to be content creators.  We've legitimately changed our booth setup multiple times in just a year, and our products have all but tripled in quantity (and quality!)

At the end of our last Heroescon, we were riding the waves of motivation to create more of everything.  We have videos edited, more designs that are ready to go to manufacturers,  and also some original stuff that we want to start sharing.

The only problem?  Day jobs.

The last few months have been especially rough on us, and so we've had to prioritize recharging our batteries over producing anything during our very limited free time.  It's not our ideal way of juggling a non-creative job and our artistic pursuits, but it's what we're currently dealing with!

To everyone who's stuck around during this intermission of inactivity, we're super grateful 🧡

Starting in 2024, our schedules are going to be changing drastically.  We'll still be working, but we're hoping that some changes in our personal life will allow us to invest more time into Mercat!  Our most immediate goal is to table at more cons, but our long-term goal is to make Mercat Studio our full-time job.  This is truly a passion project of ours, and we have so much more we want to do.  We can't wait to have the chance to do so :)
