Cellcraft workshop with Rod Dillon (aka sandflyman) participants are learning to stain and suspend there own cells. #medmus #trustmeiamanartist http://ift.tt/1X0iaBt
This glass cabinet is part of Heirloom, an extraordinary new exhibition at the Medicinsk Museion. The work was produced by British artist Gina Czarnecki and doctor John Hunt. The cabinet contains two boxes, each of which contains stem cells floating in a growth medium - the Campari-red fluid - and circulated using an old heart-bypass pump (the yellow box below). The cells are growing - and forming a layer of human skin on the 3D model of the face of the person from whose cheek they were taken (Czarnecki's teenage daughters). Eventually the new human skin will be dried and presented as a new, unique artwork. If you're in Copenhagen, and in any way interested in art, science, ethics or any combination thereof, you must go see this exhibition for yourself. by jamesclasper http://ift.tt/1OPczFJ
