Running Wolf
I have heard many problematic stories about Running Wolf. I don't condone such behavior. I don't really like talking about all the negativity I have heard. Nor do I care to share it with everyone. I did meet him along my tour for the first time. All I can say is I acknowledged his work but this project is about more than him. The medicine wheel provides much needed perspective on how to approach ones life. It allows for some recognition of an alternative way thats still alive. This project is just beginning. All in all I'm not running with a wolf.

EAST BAY JOIN ME FIRST FRIDAY at the ART WALK 4/3/15 as I make my rounds adorning the medicine wheels on this map. https://goo.gl/maps/J3i1a Art project of Tom GreyEyes, documenting the Bay Area medicine wheel paintings of R. Wolf. I contribute to them with geometric native designs. An aesthetic that I'm reclaiming and repositioning towards the imagination of a decolonial future. I do so in hopes of building intertribal solidarity and a much needed urban presence. I will use the first Friday art walk event to mark space for Indigenous people and those that find solidarity. The work will speak through an indigenous lens of place and history. For this action I plan on using self made charcoal and ephemeral clay materials. At each site ill leave a design pattern. At selected sights there will be room for conversation, song, and acknowledgement of current struggles in Native America. I plan on starting at 5pm at location A, then work my way south ending up at site H, right by the lake. The amount of time to execute the designs will vary and im thinking the whole route may take the whole evening. I’m also interested in documenting the fading process. 1.66 miles total www.medicinewheelproject.tumblr.com
