He looks smiling. Frisk might think he's doing well, that he emerged from the Underground with the coronavirus monsters, now living on the Surface, as always, caring for his brother. He might have been lucky, if not for the two damp, dark streaks on his skull, if the flowers around him weren't so crushed. Several months must have passed since the barrier was broken. It's difficult when you're in a place where time doesn't exist.

*Quick premise lore: Monsters are taught anti-human propaganda when King Asgore discovered that monsters are outnumbered and overpowered by modern humans. Note that in this AU, Gaster succeeded (and is alive) on freeing the monsters a lot earlier, so King Asgore has yet to collect a human soul. Now, monsters are living secretly on Mt. Ebott for centuries, slowly building preparations for war against humans. Monsters don’t live Underground anymore btw, they live on a mountain village ^u^
