we all heard about Viester/brandon (Aiden's va)'s transphobic statement right?

yeah. this one.

first all the TADC/gooseworx controversies, now this. why is everything I like problematic?

but, seriously. I'm really disappointed, I loved Viester's voice acting and singing performance. he really made Aiden sound animated and made all his sarcasm hit.

if they remove Viester from the cast, i'll completely understand. it's just such a shame that he said something so shitty, his performance was great. of course he had to ruin it by being a POS.

Finding out viester getting canceled was not what I expected to wake up to 🙁 I will say its disappointing.

But I did see his apology.

I will say its good that he apologised. Yet people have a right to be hurt. I have no otherwise to word this but I am disappointed. Yet I hope this doesn't sound crazy but I generally accept his apology. I can see he's truly sorry for what he's done. Yet people have a right to not accept his apology.

I can't believe I have to say this as a long-time fan of Viester....But, due to the recent major events that heavily involved him that occured on Twitter. Please don't check out his other projects he's involved in for the time-being.

You may ask: "Why?"

The reason why is because on the 26th, it was heard that Brandon (Viester's IRL name), said a transphobic remark about Aiden a year ago. This is a very serious situation on Twitter that's (likely) still on-going because he, himself, is a cis-gender male voicing a canonically transgender character saying these said remarks about Aiden. This comes off as extremely performative on Viester's behalf because he's supposed to properly represent a community of people as a cis-male but, he came off as an ignorant/uneducated person saying this.

"He apologized!"

I know that, but people on DCTWT aren't accepting his apology. His apology may have been well-written & he may have also acknowledge what he said was transphobic, but the major flaws in his apology thread were him using his Social Anxiety(?) as a shield to defend himself from all of this & that is not a very good thing for him to do (coming from someone that also has Social Anxiety).

Accept his apology or not, we can all acknowledge that Viester really needs to watch what he is saying next time, especially since he's supposed to represent a entire community as a whole by voicing a trans character as a cis person himself.

Do I accept Brandon/Viester's apology?

I'm still debating on whether I'm going to accept it or not, but l'll wait until the time is right for me to either accept/not accept his apology.

So basically, I don't know if I accept his apology at the moment.

EXTREMELY disappointed in Viester. I thought he knew so much better than this, especially the fact that he voices a canon trans man in Disventure Camp, he should be more careful with what he is saying from now on.

Also, I didn't take this Viester drama too well. As a huge fan of him, I genuinely began crying when I found out / srs & it gotten so bad to where I became mentally unstable for a little bit + worried others with my behavior on Discord when I first heard the news. (I'm doing a bit better now, but the Viester drama has left an extremely permanent stain on my mental health. So, it'll take me really long to recover from all of this drama that has been going on this week)

I idolized Vie for so long (since around late 2023 when I got into the show). Seeing him turn out to be like this just left a huge stain on me & the fact that he interacted with my content numerous times over on TikTok/Twitter before makes this situation 20x worse.

Last thing: I might be taking a hiatus from Disventure Camp for a while, this whole thing about Viester has affected my mental health really badly & I think leaving the fandom + going on hiatus is the best thing that I can do.

Moral of the story: Please be really aware of the things you are saying if you're gonna voice a character that represents a community. Especially if you are not apart of that particular community.

Episode 8 pretty much proves that the writers see Aiden as nothing but a joke character. He's always gonna have the running gag of getting betrayed by those he trusts and having all of his plans fall flat. Which is disappointing and confusing since they've been building up something with him since the S2 remake and just... that's really the best the writers can do with a villain arc idea?

It's like they dumbed him down this season, too, because you're telling me that Aiden, the first ever fan put on the show, WATCHED how Alec played in season one, PLAYED AGAINST him in all stars, and actually believed his lie about the advantage??? You would think he would know better.

So…It’s been a while since I last made one of these.

I recently watched episode 8 of Disventure Camp 5 on Saturday, EXTREMELY disappointed in the elimination. I genuinely thought they were gonna do more with Aiden but NOOOO….they made it so obvious that they brought him back into the season simply just to humiliate him in the musical episode.

Speaking of that, the Fans team REALLY should’ve gotten the win this episode, I don’t give 2 flying fucks if the “Fan-Favorites” team deserved it more. Aiden, Oliwia, and Ren did super well & did better, if it weren’t for Nina’s irrelevant & negative having ass coming back JUST to score Aiden a 2 simply because of Nina’s bitch-ass talking about some “eternal damnation for the next millennium” thing from nearly 2 years ago, the Fans could’ve taken the win but of course they brought back the irrelevant ass puppet nobody gave 2 shits about & nobody even likes in general just to set up Aiden….🫩🫩

Let’s talk about that so-called “elimination” now…

I don’t get why the fuck EVIE of all people switched up on Aiden within the next couple minutes after the challenge, like come on, he’s LITERALLY the reason why your wrinkly botched lips having ass is STILL competing in this fucking game..If it weren’t for Aiden, YOU would’ve been eliminated in Episode 3 instead of Ernesto…😭😭

I have never turned on a character this quick until Evie wanted to talk about some “we don’t let him…alright ladies, I have a plan” bullshit.. Evie, you DO realize that after this massive mistake you made, you’re gonna get targeted BIG time now that the dude that has constantly saved you from elimination is now gone thanks to your actions, right?

Genuinely, this elimination (if you can even call it that) made ZERO sense whatsoever, ZEROOO…This only happened because they brought back Nina’s irrelevant ass that nobody in this fandom really gave a fuck about in general to make Aiden lose…Wow, Jared EXTREMELY good decision you made right there!! Just great! This would totally not have the Aiden fans get all pissed off that you’re treating him like shit so far in this season over on DCTWT (seriously guys, they were ALL pissed off yesterday that they wanted to attack people that work on the show, the whole house was fucking mad alright..and it was probably not a very good idea on their behalf)

Also, why didn’t they just bring Derek back? Or just have Trevor and Emily be the judges..?? Was Derek’s VA busy with something or what?

Overall, i’m really disappointed in the way they wrote Aiden’s elimination in general (yes, the elimination was this serious that I was insulting Evie 🫩). It felt like they just wanted a way to throw Aiden under the bus last minute & they just HORRIBLY wrote the elimination. Were they high while writing the elimination?? Definitely…

Last but not least, i’m also disappointed that there wasn’t ANY Patreon readings. What makes it worse is that Brandon (aka Viester) has an audio of himself reading the Patreons, but for some reason…Odd Nations didn’t use it, even he was somewhat confused also over on Twitter. (he did eventually uploaded the audio through the Disventure Camp Discord server a couple hours after the episode aired)

Speaking of that, Aiden was crying before reading the Patreons (my baby ☹️☹️ they didn’t deserve to treat you like this in the musical episode out of all episodes).

Another thing I would like to mention is that Aiden was calling Riya a bitch…Viester, I love you with all of my heart but PLEASE be a bit more aware of the things you are saying next time, I don’t want another Finn situation all over again with Aiden 😭😭..(I’m pretty sure that the Patreon readings are improv from the VAs, correct me if i’m wrong. Also, that line coming from Aiden just seemed so out of character for him to say about Riya. What happened to calling her a monster, Aiden?)

Overall, Aiden Brooks…you deserved better writers that actually care about your development, story, your potential arcs, and so much more instead of having a group of writers that find a opportunity to shelve your development/story/potential arcs away & humiliate you in every way possible just for the sake of it. (yes, it is that serious, im tired of ONC treating Aiden like this in general)

Sorry if I sounded really mad, I just hate it when Odd Nations constantly treat Aiden like this and its especially pissing me off, especially with the way they wrote his elimination in Episode 8.

(And I might be considering taking a burnout from DC5 until the Rescue Island episode releases)

And also, Aiden fans, please support Brandon (Viester) on his other projects for now on until the Rescue Island/Comeback episode(s) will eventually release if you want to hear his voice in other projects rather than in Disventure Camp!

In the hijack discord we got talking about what the Hairy Hooligan tartan could be like. I then realised that I, a scot, have never drawn Hiccup in a kilt, which is a sin as that should be my purpose in life, like it’s my responsibility to do this and to go ALL OUT. So I crafted a tartan specifically for Berk, and then made this - Scottish Hiccup with his traditional custom kilt, his kilt hose, a sgian dubh, his custom night fury scale sporran, ancient Celtic paint and his torc.
