Extremely long 60s movies are so very long. It's one thing if a movie earns its long runtime, like The Godfather or Goncharov, but it's like Hollywood simultaneously lost all ability to make epics and got the desire to make everything a epic when Eisenhower left office.
If you haven't seen any, good, and I'll just say that they aren't even all epics, they just concluded everything needed to be a 189 minute roadshow to be a serious movie since that was the business model (actually the business model fell apart hard years before they started to abandon it, but). Musicals, comedies, movies for children. There's one whose entire premise is "fish-out-of-water comedy about a guy visiting L.A. and stumbling through various celebrity cameo comedy sketches" and it's three hours long. Two and a half hour long cowboy musicals. What a baffling time
