(Short piece that popped into my head)
We start with blackness and silence. Suddenly the familiar voice of River Song cuts through the silence.
River (voice-over) :- "Alone. What exactly does it mean? Well without actually opening a dictionary and reading verbatim the description written beside the word, it means different things to different people"
EXT... We see the Tardis in the distance. As the camera rushes towards it we go straight through the closed doors.
INT... The camera pauses at the entrance of the Tardis briefly before slowly moving up towards the console. There we see the figure of a man standing and working. Slowly the camera moves up toward the console.
River (voice-over) :- "For some, it is exactly that. Being on one's own"
CAMERA... The camera begins to move around the console, its focus on the center never fully showing the face of the figure standing there.
River (voice-over) :- "No one else around. Always moving never allowing anyone to get close"
EXT... We cut to outside a large building. There are lights and music and laughter coming from within. The camera suddenly rushes up and through the closed door.
INT... Inside we see a fancy party going on with food and drinks and music and loads of people mingling around in expensive evening dresses and tuxedos, in a large open room. The Camera begins to move into the room where we see River Song standing among a group of people smiling and nodding her head as they all talk and laugh. Slowly the camera begins to move toward the group as the laughter and music begin to fade
River (voice-over) :- "For others alone means something different"
CAMERA... The camera begins to move around the group of people not focusing on any one individual.
River (voice-over):- "They could be surrounded by a room full of people. have people talk to them and listen to them and yet... Still, they feel alone as no one around them ever really sees them or who they are"
CAMERA... We fade to blackness once more.
River (voice-over):- "We all feel alone at times. There are a few people who can make us feel less alone, the few we allow to see us as we are. But there is also one thing for certain. One thing that no one knows but that is true"
CAMERA... Moving forward we can just to say see a dark-cloaked figure moving slightly. It's hood up and the cloak flowing down to the ground. Moving in closer slowly
River (voice-over) :- "We are NEVER alone"
CAMERA... Zooming in on the figure then.... Black screen.
What do you get a man who has almost anything and everything he could ever want. That was the problem with buying her husband his main gift for Christmas, but she thought she had finally found the perfect thing. A small pocket-sized sextant that was also a sundial and a compass. This would allow him to calculate the time of wherever he was, as long as there was a sun in the sky. It would also allow him to use celestial bodies to calculate where in space he was. And the compass would allow him to know the magnetic fields of where he was. After having it personalized for him she wrapped it up and placed a card in the box with it reading. "To my darling husband. Time and space have never kept us apart for long but hopefully with this to help guide you when the Tardis can't those times apart will be shorter. Love Always River" Slipping the parcel under the console for him she left to go meet Jenny, her stepdaughter, for drinks and more Christmas shopping.
Being around people was fine, well being around most was. She had never been one to be all laughs and smiles around people so when her mask slipped no one ever really noticed. The only person who would have noticed her mask slipping and noticed all the pain and sorrow she was suddenly carrying. He was the one person she had been trying to avoid like the plague, unsure she would be able to keep the facade up of being fine around him. Ever since she had traveled forward in time to his final day and had been there for him, every since then she had tried to avoid everyone. Her heart was slowly beginning to heal but there were still a lot of shards of it left to try and piece back in, so she ran. She ran like she had never ran before. From place to place from point in time to point in time. Trying to avoid trouble so that he wouldn't show up.
Heaving a sigh as she sat watching yet another sunset on another beach she tried her best to keep her mind blank but thoughts and memories kept creeping in. Thoughts that even if she wasn't in this much pain at the moment she should not be thinking. Thoughts about a somewhat normal life, a family, the things she couldn't have no matter how much she sometimes longed for them. Moving the orange shawl from her lap she wrapped it around her shoulders as she slowly rose to her feet. The sun was now kissing the edge of the horizon as its last few rays of light danced across the sky, while being chased by the oncoming darkness. Stepping down into the water's edge she slowly began to walk along the edge of the water, allowing the incoming tide to slowly lap at her feet. The cold salty water allowed her to know that she could still feel something even if it was just cold and only for a few moments.
While everything was quiet she grabbed herself a coffee and the book she had been meaning to finish. Taking full advantage of the fact the sun was shining outside she went and sat in a quiet little nook to relax.

The Doctors' final Goodbye
(Solo piece featuring the last ever incarnation of the doctor)
She had been mulling it over in her mind for weeks about going forward to this point in time. She had made a couple of stops along his time line to check if he was okay but this stop she knew was going to be the one that would shatter her. She had toyed with going sooner but then the man himself had turned up to take her out on a little trip to help him with what he said was a little problem, little was an understatement. He had only dropped her back off about an hour ago and since then she had been sitting looking at her time vortex manipulator. If she was going to do this she knew it was now or never as she would never be in a better place to handle what was about to happen.
She wasn't fully registering the coordinates as she put them in and taking a deep breath pushed the button. Arriving at her destination she looked around and recognised straight away where she was. Calderon Beta it had been the first place they had come on a proper date, it had changed a lot since then. Gone were the chip shops and people, the sea had almost completely dried up and due to there being very little water left on the planet, the chances of seeing any life forms around were slim to none. Closing her eyes she took a few deep shaky breaths until she heard that old familiar sound that always made her smile. "Okay time to do this," She said as she took another deep breath. Normally she would have stayed out of sight when she jumped forward in his timeline, but there had been a few rare occasions that he had spotted her. Once or twice she would put on some accent and pretend she had no idea who or what he was talking about. She was never sure if on those occasions he believed her but he always acted like he did, the other times she would simply vanish hoping he would just think he was seeing things. This time was different, this time she left the place she had been standing and began to make her way over to the Tardis.
She was almost upon the box when the doors opened and out he stepped. She couldn't help but smile as he stood there despite having his back to her. "Hello sweetie" Her voice was as soft as velvet as she spoke. Watching him freeze in place and stand up a little straighter her smile grew as he turned to face her and an old familiar face looked back at her.
"River?" His voice was that of an old-tiered man who couldn't believe his eyes. "It can't be. No no, I'm imagining you you're not really here" Shaking his head a little he turned to face the other way again.
Moving over to him she placed her hand softly on his shoulder. "It's really me my love" Letting her hand slide down his arm as she moved to stand in front of him her smile growing as her gaze locked on his. Her hand moving to cup his cheek she stepped up close to him. "And you are certainly you as I would recognize those eyes anywhere"
His hands reached up as she moved in front of him and he took her face in his grasp as if making sure she was there. "You shouldn't be here, you're not meant to be here," He said shaking his head.
Letting out a little laugh she moved her hands and placed them over top of his as he held her face gently. "Of my love did you really think that once you gave me that one little secret that I wasn't going to use it? Did you think that I wouldn't be here to make sure you weren't alone when this time came?" Shaking her head slightly she leaned in to place a little kiss on his lip "You sealed our fates when it comes to today the day you whispered those words"
The smile on his face as she spoke only grew as she placed a kiss on his lips. As she pulled back his gaze locked on to hers "Now what made you think I would be on my own? I promised I would never travel alone"
Letting out a little laugh she moved her hands from on top of his to rest against his chest. "Because I know my amazing yet incredibly frustrating man. I know you have a bad habit of pushing people away if you know your time in one body is up and a new one is coming." Pausing she had to take a breath to focus herself to make sure she kept her smile on her lips, not because she was happy about what was coming but because he needed her to be strong for him. "So I knew when this moment came you would have either pushed people away or turned on them to the point they would have run."
He chuckled as she was right, she knew him too well. "You can't be here. You…" His words fading
"Doctor I am not going anywhere, I am here for you through this. Now might I suggest you shut up telling me where I can and can't be and give your wife a proper hello kiss" The playful smirk upon her lips was hard to hold into place but it was worth it to hear his laugh and see his smile.
Without a moment of hesitation he pulled her head close to his their lips meeting as he gave her the hello kiss she had asked for "Hello wife" he said mumbling against her lips.
"Now that is better" Her voice was a whisper as she slipped her arms around him.
"You must be mad wanting to kiss an old man like me" His smile was brighter now as he released her face and wrapped his arms around her.
"What can I say I have a thing for ancient relics and older men. It's both why I became an archeologist and also why I married you" Placing another little kiss on his lips she pulled back a little to look in his eyes. "I'm not going to lie I like the face you chose as your last one. I personally think it's been your best face over the years."
Letting out another chuckle he nodded his head "Well like you said I sealed our fates when it came to tonight. I think I chose this face because I knew you would probably show up… well no that's a lie" Looking down briefly before looking up into the night sky "There aren't as many stars shining tonight as there were our first night here,"
Her gaze did not leave him even though she could tell he was trying to avoid looking at her. "Well, there is a simple reason for that my love. They are all in mourning as they all know the universe is about to lose the most important person ever to visit any of them" Letting out a little cough now it was her turn to move her gaze as she stared up into the night sky.
His gaze turned back to her "River..."
"How about I go inside the tardis and get us a blanket? We can sit out here and watch the few stars that are putting on a show for us" Placing a kiss on his cheek she removed her arms from around him and headed inside the tardis.
Walking slowly to get a blanket she took a few deep breaths trying her best to fight back the tears that were already threatening to show. "Stop it River. Hold it together" Grabbing the blanket she glanced over at the console. "Be ready to help me old girl when I need it" Exiting the tardis she walked over to the large open area the doctor had moved to. "Is this the spot you think we'll get the best view?" She asked gazing briefly up at the sky.
Turning his head to look at her he smiled "I think the view will be perfect here"
Looking over at him she gave him a little wink "Yes it will" Beginning to lay the blanket down she saw him struggling to bend down so she quickly moved to help him lower himself onto the blanket. "River are you sure you want to be here?"
Moving to sit beside him she locked her gaze on his "Oh sweetie I am more than sure that you are not going to get rid of me so easily as by asking me that." Laying down on her back to stare up at the sky she hoped the lack of starlight would help hide the tears in her eyes.
Laying down beside her he put an arm under her head pulling her body in close to him.
Smiling as he pulled her closer she rested her head on his shoulder and her hand on his chest. Laying in silence for what felt like hours she turned her gaze to look at him only to see his eyes fixed upon her. "You are meant to be looking up at the stars my love."
"I came here so my old eyes could see something beautiful for the last time and that is exactly what I am doing" Pausing he placed a kiss on the side of her head. "I know I never said it but…"
Her finger moving to cover his lips to shut him up she shook her head "You don't have to say anything you showed me all I needed to know"
His smile growing he moved his free hand to brush some hair from her face "My bespoke psychopath"
"All yours forever Sweetie" She smiled leaning in to place another kiss on his lip.
"I'm sorry" He whispered against her lips "I… I should have found a way to…"
After kissing him again to shut him up she lifted her head far enough to gaze into his eyes. "You have nothing to be sorry for my love nothing at all"
"Oh, I do. I did a lot of things wrong in my life, I made a lot of mistakes and lost a lot of people that I should have saved" His gaze locked on hers. "I should have found a way to save you."
"Shhhh spoilers" Letting out a little laugh she shook her head "You saved me in all the ways that counted and mattered. If you mean life-wise, I think we did enough damage to the universe trying to save each other and trying to change our fixed points, don't you? I do know one thing though"
Letting out a laugh he shook his head "You are worth burning up the universe for. I just learned that too late" Smiling up at her he looked confused "What is that?"
"I know that you were probably there with me in the end. Your eyes sometimes when you looked at me had so much sorrow in them"
His gaze shifting briefly he looked back at her. "Yes I was and you were as stubborn that day as you always were"
"Well then no more talk about guilt for not saving me when you did and you were there for me during my last moments." Laying her head back down this time on his chest so he couldn't see the tears that were fighting to escape "Tell me a story about one of your best adventures that I'm allowed to know as it won't affect my future"
"How about a fairytale about a time traveler's wife?" Letting out a little chuckle he began to cough a little.
Lifting her head to check he was okay she lowered it once more after his coughing stopped. "Let me guess it starts Once upon a time there was a madman in a box, somewhere in the middle he met and married a crazy woman who made his life frustrating and fun all at the same time"
Letting out another chuckle he kissed the side of her head "Oh you've heard about that one then"
"It sounds a little familiar"
As the two lay in silence once more she closed her eyes. She didn't want this to happen. If she could find a way to pause tonight she would have done to hell with the universe he was more important. She could hear his heartbeats slowing down as her tears began to escape.
"River" His voice was so quiet almost a whisper.
"I hate you," She said as she forced a smile on her lips as she lifted her head to look at him
"No, you don't"
"No, I don't but I should" Leaning down to place a kiss on his lips
As his eyes closed he smiled against her lips "My River" he whispered as his arm around her went limp.
Her tears flowing more freely she knew that he was gone. placing another soft kiss on his lips she laid her head back against his chest hoping to still hear something, just one more beat. After laying there for what felt like an eternity she rose onto her feet. She didn't want to leave him laid there alone for even one second but she had to for her to get the tardis. Running into the blue box and up the console she quickly placed the coordinates of where he laid the tardis blicking out and then blinking back in a few feet away she looked over at where the doctor now lay on the console floor. Putting in more coordinates she pressed for the tardis to move before stepping back over to him. Laying back down beside him she placed another kiss on his lips. "You were right about how much this was going to hurt" Her heart and soul were shattered into a million sharp pieces each one stabbing her. Moving she straightened his bowtie and made him look his best as the tardis let her know they were at their destination. Standing back up slowly she kept her gaze fixed on him. "No one is going to mess with you again my love I promise. Not this time" Moving to stand at the console she smiled softly. "I'm sorry old girl but we need to make sure he stays safe, both he and you deserve peace. As the tardis made a noise to acknowledge and agree with her she set the coordinates for the center of the sun. "I promise every time I look up I will think of you both. Good bye old girl" Kissing her fingertips she placed them on the console before engaging the engines and taking a step back to glance down at the doctor once more. "Goodbye, my love" Typing in the coordinates of her home into her time vortex manipulator she pressed the button.
Suddenly finding herself in her own living room she fell to the floor the pain and grief taking her over fully.
She had exhausted almost every avenue she could think of to find out the information she was after. There had been two options left for her and as seen as she rarely liked to play things safe she had soon made her mind up as to which one to go for.
Running along the corridor she tried all the doors along the way none of which were opening for her, her mind thinking how she was really not dressed to be running like his. In any normal circumstances, she would have had her vortex manipulator on her and would simply have escaped her current predicament, unfortunately, she had had to come here without it and had hoped that her charms would be enough to get her both in and out without any problems, after all she was only there to ask someone a simple question. Finally finding a door that was open she ran inside and leaned against it hoping her weight would be enough to not let it move when they tried the door. Holding her breath as she saw the door handle move she closed her eyes to steady her pounding heartbeat. Hearing one of the men who were chasing her saying she must have gone up to the next floor she breathed a sigh of relief. Moving from the door she knew she didn't have time to stand around. Moving over to the other side of the room she quickly pushed open the window. The cold breeze that flew in was almost enough to take her breath away but she really didn't have time to worry about how cold it was outside, it would be better to freeze than to get shot. Poking her head out the window a small smile began to form on her lips as she noticed a fire escape a little off to her left. She knew it would be no good leaving the room to try and get into one closer as she had already tried the doors and they had been locked. Slipping her shoes off she raised the hem of her dress up high enough to allow her to climb out of the window and onto the ledge that just was big enough for her to stand on on her tippy toes. Making her way across slowly, her eyes staying fixed on her end goal instead of looking down, she began to sing a little song in her head to keep her mind off the bitterly cold wind that was beginning to wrap itself around her. Reaching out for the fire escape and climbing onto it she quickly slipped her shoes back on as the metal was almost freezing to the touch compared to the ledge she had just climbed from. Hearing a shout from above she looked up and saw one of the men who had been chasing her pointing down. She gave him a quick little wave and quickly began her descent. Her eyes scanned the ground below she cursed out under her breath, there wasn't one thing she could use to help her get out of there. "Who the hell has this much money and no cars parked in their driveway? Just one car that I could have borrowed but no. I bet he keeps them all locked up somewhere." Finally hitting the ground with her feet she quickly began to sprint in the direction of the gate at the end of the driveway. Rounding the corner she could see it starting to close "Oh no you don't" She said to herself as she stopped briefly to slip her shoes off once more and lift the hem of her dress up to above her knees to allow her to move much quicker.
Just to say making it through the gate before it closed she paused for a moment to try and catch her breath till she heard the shouting coming from up the driveway. Looking up she heaved a sigh "Do you boys never give up?" She asked them as they began to raise their guns "Guess that means no" She laughed as she took off down the street. Between the bitterly cold wind dancing around her as she sped along as fast as she could, and the cold wet hard ground biting at her feet she was starting to feel her body turning numb. Glancing quickly behind herself she could hear them screaming to hurry and get the gate open giving her just enough time to pause and decide which way to run.

My Biography
Her life has been complicated since day one. Born to human parents Amy Pond and Rory Williams, Melody was conceived in the Tardis which in turn infused her with timelord DNA. No one has ever seemed to work out exactly how or why this happened just that it did.
Thanks to that DNA she could regenerate. River (The name she prefers to go by) is her third and last incarnation. Not long after transforming she used the rest of her regenerations to help heal The Doctor after she had used a poison on him that would not only have killed him but also stopped him from regeneration ending his life perminently. Her reason she saved him was because of a mix of things, he not only stopped her from being killed but also showed concern for her parents while dying. And then during his last breaths, he whispered in her ear. His words, oh those words, that was when she began to fall into a deep unending love for him.
A lot has happened since that day. They have fought, they have run, they have had adventures of all kinds, they got married, they have sung, they have danced, they have lived, they have loved, they have laughed and they have cried, but rarely has it ever been in any kind of order that has or would make sense to the average person. Because of this, they have their rules that they must always remember. The main one is that they can never tell each other what the future of the other one looks like as that could cause changes that the universe could never cope with. She knows her time with him is going to be more fleeting than she wants it to be, her love for him flowing so deep and hard all she ever wants is the impossible thing, for him to be happy truly happy even if those times are not with her.
She knows how special she is to him and how deeply he loves her too despite those three little words never leaving his lips, she knows because he shows her each time they meet and she knows his deepest secrets, things no one else ever can or could know because of what could happen if they did. His biggest secret his name his true name is so much more than just that, it was and is a key that she has used to allow her to find him, to always find him at set points along his timeline. She is sure he would be mad at her for doing so but...
During her free time when she isn’t busy either having adventures with or just spending time by his side, or lecturing at a university, or digging up some ancient relic, her free time she uses her knowledge to travel to his past, his present, and his future, to make sure he is okay. Knowing she could cause ripples doing this she rarely interacts with him when she is on these little trips, choosing to stay hidden in shadows and just out of his line of sight. Sometimes though interactions are unavoidable as he will see her, sometimes when this happens she lies and puts on some kind of accent and acts like she hasn’t got a clue who he is even when he tells her.
There has been one acceptance to all of that though, at one point in his timeline, far off in his future, she deliberately broke her own rules and stepped out of the shadows and over to him to let him know it was her and that she was really there. Once in the past, she told her father her hardest day was yet to come, it would be the day she looked at the doctor and he wouldn’t have a clue who she was. She was wrong the day that shattered her heart and soul into a million pieces which she is slowly fixing, it’s her biggest secret from everyone, the day she broke her own rule and stepped from the shadows for him.
River and the Twelfth Doctor
River and The Eleven
"Nothing better than having a quiet drink." Pauses for a moment "Well I can think of one or two things that are better, but as those are out of the question I will settle for the drink."
Some things are too big of a secret even to write in the diary, things that the doctor can't ever know about his future. Even if it means that I have to suffer the pain of what I know alone. He is worth that and so much more.

I look forward to interacting with you all.
They say time is a great healer, but they are wrong. Sure if your time in this universe is limited you allow yourself the luxury of stopping running for a moment, to allow yourself the time to grieve, to hurt, to heal. But when your time is endless, when all you have spread out in front of you and behind you is time, then it no longer is a great healer. Instead, it becomes nothing more than another weapon that cuts and hurts you over and over and over again, and when faced with something like that, what do you do?
Making sure to stay hidden by standing in the shadows, a small smile crossed her lips as she heard that familiar laugh that always made her heart sing. Watching the man and girl he was with standing outside of the blue box for a few minutes talking and laughing, her smile began to fade as once the girl entered the box the laughter stopped and the smile that had been on his face vanished. Lowering her head briefly she fought back the urge to shout out to him and let him know she was there. No, she couldn't do that for a multitude of reasons, the main one being she wasn't meant to be there but she couldn't help herself. She loved that amazing, crazy, yet impossibly frustrating man with every fiber of her being, so much so she couldn't help but keep checking in on him and making sure he was okay. Or at least as okay as someone like him could be when they refused to stop running and kept all their pain, grief and sorrow bottled up tightly, wedged down deep inside them. Sure the times their paths had been supposed to have crossed he had tried to convince her that all the pain he carried around inside of him was nothing, nothing phased him but she knew he was lying. His eyes gave him away every time, the pain could be seen there, the sorrow of knowing how fleeting the lives of those he traveled with actually were. How lonely he was even when in a box filled with love and laughter the loneliness still filled him, his eyes told her all of that and so she in turn when she had some time to herself couldn't help but keep checking in on him along his timeline making sure he was as okay as someone like them could be. She was worried that one day if he didn't stop running for a short while and allow himself the time to at least process some of all that he had bottled up, he would explode and either hurt himself or worse yet hurt someone he cared about, as she knew that was something that would kill him quicker than any of his enemies could. Lifting her head to look back over at him she saw he was gone. "Now where in the?" Leaning forward she glanced up and down the street, no sign of him. Maybe he had gone into the Tardis.
