I was right. David lancaster is melu’s actor and he has been in the backround of a bunch of other movies. He was on some website where there’s a bunch more pictures of him

“I don’t like fighting,” he said. “…But Ada always wanted a warrior. He…he left my brother in Rivendell because Lindir wasn’t a warrior…and I guess I’m not either…” He sighed. “We were both nothing but disappointments to him. At least I know how to use a bow…”

“You are not dismissed from my guard, I was never going to dismiss you,” Thranduil said. “You have shown promise, loyalty and courage. I though that your heart was truly in the guard, but it is not. I think you would be better suited elsewhere. You father is…no longer here, Meludir. You are free to do as you wish. If you wish to leave the guard then you may do so with my blessing. Perhaps you are better suited to the healers halls,”

“But...but I...” he sighed and bowed his head. He didn’t want to be a healer either. The blood and the injuries were unpleasant, to say the least. “I don’t know what to do,” he whispered. Maybe he could take care of the animals or something. Or join the minstrels. But he didn’t know. This was the first time he had ever been able to think about any possibility beyond being a guard.

Meludir sniffled, then tugged the sleeve of his tunic down over his hand and reached up to wipe the tears off of his cheeks. “No,” he said. “But I’m not…I don’t have anything else, and…and nothing else really matters, and…I’m already such a disappointment to Adar…He would be so mad if I got kicked out of the guard…”

Thranduil sighed. He had been wrong, and that hadn’t been the answer he’d hoped for. “Meludir,” Thranduil sighed. “That is no reason to be in the guard. You should be there because it means something to you, because you want to be there. You are there to fight, for the forest. Because you wish to, you wish to help others, and bring peace. But if you are only in the guard because of your father, then I fear it is not the right place for you,”

The words didn’t quite register at first. But then… “W-what?” he said. “I…no, you can’t, I didn’t…I didn’t do anything, I don’t know what you’re talking about…” His mind raced and he tried to remember all the things he had done recently, or things he had failed to do. Had he lost focus while on guard? Misplaced the spare bow strings? Forgotten to turn in a report? He didn’t know. He couldn’t think of a single thing. Nothing that would warrant being expelled from the guard, anyway.

Thranduil let out a long sigh and rubbed at his temples. He turned around and headed for a table where he poured himself a glass of wine.

“There have been many thing, Meludir,” Thranduil began, walking back over to Meludir, both hands around his wine glass. He looked down at the young, almost feeling bad for what he was about to do. “You are no longer a member of the guard. I am dismissing you,”

“No…” he whimpered. “I…no, please, you can’t…why can’t you just tell me what I did, so I can fix it?” Tears welled in his eyes as he looked up at Thranduil, but for the moment at least, he was neither seeing nor hearing his king. He was hearing his own father, laughing and telling him just exactly how awful and pathetic and worthless he really was. “…What else would I even do if I wasn’t a guard?” he mumbled.

Thranduil heard the whimper, and he knew. He had been right about the young guard. But he had to be certain. He turned away and went back to the table. He stayed there for a while, before turning back.

“Because,” he began, then paused. He hadn’t been expecting tears. At least not like this. “Meludir,” Thranduil whispered. He looked down at Meludir, then sighed. He placed a hand on his shoulder and gave a small smile. “Tell me, why the tears. Does the guard mean that much to you?”

Meludir gulped and stepped inside. He had never been in the King’s chambers before. Or, for that matter, ever been alone with the King. He thought h should feel honored, but for now, he was too scared for that. “H-hello?” he called. “…You majesty? I…Feren said you want to see me…”

“Yes, he did,” Thranduil said, stepping into the room Meludir was currently in. His face showed no emotion and he stood tall, robes flowing at his feet. “Something was brought to my attention and I…feel as though you might not be in the right position in the guard. Do you why this might be?”

“I…what? Why?” He frowned at Feren for a moment, then sighed an set his latest arrow down. “I guess it doesn’t matter WHY, really. Show me where to go?”

“I don’t know why. He didn’t say. But he didn’t seem too happy,” Feren said, leading Meludir along the halls until the hallways became broader and more lavishly decorated. They arrived at a great oak door where two guards were stationed outside. “He’s here to see the King,” Feren said. The guards nodded and then opened the door. 

“Good luck,” Feren said, giving Meludir a small pat o the shoulder before leaving him to Thranduil’s mercy, or wrath.

Hey, I've been searching everywhere for this, but I can't find it. Where is the part in the Behind the Scenes that Meludir is in?

//Hmm...I know it’s in the DoS BTS materials. I’m not 100% sure where though. I usually just see the stuff other people post. I’ve run across it before but it was a while ago and sheer luck. I’m ASSUMING, though, that it’s in the section that has a lot to do with Elves/Thranduil.

Anyone out there have anything more specific to add?

“I…well…it’s ABOUT your father, my lord,” the young guard stammered. He glanced down at his feet and took a few deep breaths. Legolas was NOT going to like this one bit, he was sure. “I…well…I – and Elros too, it wasn’t just me – we saw several…several DWARVES entering your father’s chambers, and when we went to investigate the door was locked behind them, but shortly thereafter a maid came with wine. When she emerged from the chambers she seemed rather…upset by something and would not speak of it to us. We are…concerned.”

“My father is unwell. For the foreseeable future, I will be standing in as King. Whatever it is you meant to speak to him about, you can bring to my attention instead.”

That took several moments for Legolas to process, and when it finally did, his mouth dropped open slightly. “Dwarves?” he repeated, astounded and disbelieving. “Why are there dwarves in my father’s chambers? How did they get into Mirkwood without my knowledge? Who is supposed to be patrolling the borders?” The blond frowned, descending from the throne to pace. How was he supposed to deal with this? Thranduil was sick – Legolas had seen it for himself. So why were there dwarves with him, of all things?

“Yes, dwarves,” he repeated. “...I don’t know why they are there, or how they got there, though. Perhaps...” the idea was preposterous, he knew, but it was also the only explanation he could think of. “Perhaps...your father...invited them.”

have you abandoned this blog?

Well I haven’t really RP-ed much with Meludir lately, no, but I’m not ready to give up the blog itself.

(from meludirofmirkwood) The young Elf was engrossed in his thoughts as he made his way through the Woodland Realm's halls. The report he had for his superiors today was...well, not good. So he spent most of the walk to see them trying to think of the best way to present the news. So engrossed was he in his thoughts, though, that he didn't even noticed anyone else. And that is how he managed to walk right into Laerlas. "Oof! ...Oh, no. Oh my. I'm so, so sorry..."

Laerlas walked towards the library, deep in thought. The way there was so familiar he could practically let his legs walk by themselves, there was no reason for him to pay attention to his surroundings. 

That’s why he had not time to react when someone suddenly walked around the corner and collided with him, making the prince fall on the floor. Startled, he looked up to see a young elf. “It… is alright”, he murmured quietly, feeling embarrassed.

“I-it’s my fault, your grace,” he said. “I should have been paying more attention...I was just lost in thought about this report I have to give to...to...well, to your father...” He sighed a little. Ugh, Thranduil was NOT going to enjoy the news of new spider nests nearby one bit, he could already tell. “And now I’ve interrupted your day on top of it...” He took a few steps back, but otherwise didn’t move. He simply stood there, waiting to be dismissed or told off or whatever else Laerlas might wish to say to him.

Rúmil’s cheeks flushed a bright red as they were pinched and smooshed about, causing his lips to pout out like a child’s. “M-Meludir!” he chuckled, bringing his hands over Meludir’s. “What on Arda are you doing?”

"Playing," Meludir replied, as though this was the most obvious and normal thing in the world. "You have a nice face," he added. No, that wasn’t weird of him at all, of course. "You just look very squishable today."

Meludir blushed and wrapped his arms around Rumil’s shoulders. “Oh, you think so?” he asked. “See, I tend to prefer yours.”

"I know so” the warden grinned, cocking his head to the left slightly. “Yet why do you disagree? What is it about my face that makes it so special?” he chuckled before nuzzling their noses lovingly.

“I-I don’t know!” he said, blushing as he spoke. “It just...I mean...I...” He trailed off and muttered, “I like your face. And the rest of you, but especially your face.”

“Hmmm…Archery range, then!” he said. “I spend a lot of time there. You should see it after you get settled in. And maybe the elk herd. You like horses, don’t you? Elk are kinda the same but with big horns.”

Meludir actually SKIPPED a few steps, he was so happy at Lindir’s agreement. “Well, come on, I’ll show you! Maybe we can even get you permission to ride one. The King is very protective of his elk, but for you…”

"Oh? We should make use of that while you're here! Get him to throw some more parties. Get you to ride an elk. Get him to let me visit Laketown once in a while." He huffed. "I love Mirkwood but sometimes it's nice to go somewhere else!"

The breath Rúmil had been holding was finally let out as Meludir left the room. He sighed deeply and rubbed at his temples, easing the pain that grew in his head. He thanked the gods that Melu didn’t notice his arousal.. or chose to ignore it in regard at least. Yet now Meludir waited patiently outside, and Rúmil did not have it in him to finish himself off, for taking longer than necessary would be a rude gesture towards his dear one.

He hurriedly threw on some brown pants and pulled on his boots, proceeding to layer himself in the common armour of his people-  a grey under tunic, a golden tunic which hung long and detailed almost leaf-like in shimmery scales, followed by a dark leather belt for full shield of the torso and deep woodland hues of green pauldrons, dainty chest plate and intricate hip plates which seemed to splay around his figure, encasing him in protection. In finding no use for his helm, he left it behind and instead reached for his cloak that hung on the wall underneath his bow. With one easy snap, his cloak was secured around his neck and he huffed.

It had been a long while since the Galadhrim had left the realm freely. Rúmil always seemed to be overworked, but no more.. he was determined to enjoy this get away. With a soft smile gracing his lips, he reached for his belt that already secured his sword and fastened it around his hips before hooking his bow around his chest. Pushing the door of his Talan open, the fresh breeze whirled the golden leaves and swept through his silver hair. “Meludir! I am ready for this trip!” he laughed joyously.

"Good!" Meludir called back. "I want to get as far as we can before nightfall!" He laughed too and turned from his task of loading his things onto a horse to see Rumil, and immediately blushed. Rumil definitely cut a dashing figure in his armor, and Meludir couldn’t help but stare and even lick his lip a little. "You…you look wonderful," he said as Rumil approached, trying to keep his voice low enough that none of the other Elves nearby would hear. "You wear your armor so well, dear one." He stared for several more moments and was only jarred back to reality when his horse grew impatient and nudged him in the shoulder. "I…ah…w-we should get going! Look, a horse has been readied for you and everything! It’s a long way to Dale from here, so we even packed tents! Hope you like camping!"

He could see the blush that brought Meludir’s face to glow so beautifully and he brought a hand up to cup his jaw. “Hmm” he grinned, brushing the pad of his thumb over their soft cheek, holding back the desire to kiss him there and then. “Thank you for readying my horse.. and the sweet complements.. you’re so kind, Meludir.” Rúmil withdrew and turned to his own horse, giving it a kiss as it lowered it’s head and nuzzled him. 

Securing a bag to the side of the snow white creature, the warden laughed lightly and mounted before looking to the other elf. “I have never left Lorien long enough to camp anywhere, I normally continue riding through the night until I reach my destination the next day.. my body can handle it.” He then leaned down to whisper elvish in his horses ear, bringing from it a gentle neigh and he smiled. “You lead the way, captain!” Rúmil winked.

"Your body can handle it, hmm?" He smirked a little as he mounted his horse. "I'm sure there are a great many things your body can handle, Rumil. Perhaps you can show me some of them during our journey?" Meludir laughed and guided his horse around until he could ride right out of Lothlorien and off in the general direction of ultimately destination. 

"So where do you usually go outside of Lothlorien, then? I thought it was your older brother who did most of the travelling outside...I myself rarely get to go anywhere except Mirkwood and Lothlorien."

"You must have been very distracted, I thought I was being loud!" He laughed. "Ru, what are you up to? My King has told me I need to stop in Laketown on the way back to Mirkwood. I thought you might like to come. You know, get out of Lothlorien for a bit, see the sights…spend more time with me…"

Deep burnt a red on his cheeks as the warden hastily pulled up the pants that had gone just past his thighs. He’d been far too immersed in imagining Meludir’s moans that he hadn’t even heard him enter! And now the Galadhrim stood before him, with loose garments yet a tight crotch. “Nothing- I was doing nothing, so of course I’d love to accompany you!” Rúmil’s voice was quavering just like his heart. Gods how had he been so oblivious!? 

With the clench of his fists, he turned around to hide his arousal. “Please allow me to dress myself and then I will join you outside.”

Meludir was either the most oblivious Elf in all of Arda, or he was the best actor in all of Arda, for he didn’t even seem to notice what Rumil had been up to at all.
