It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!

5 Times Iris was a Very Supportive Sibling and 1 Time She Meddled (6,593 words) By Tatical Ascot

Summary:

Just what it says on the tin: five times Iris was honestly the most supportive sibling ever (despite all the longing and the pining)... and one time she had enough, and finally decided to meddle in Peri's business.

Why you should read it? My fav sibling energy Iris & ART fic. Summary:

Summary:

As a state-of-the-art B-class wormhole-capable deep-space research vessel, I do not consider myself to have many serious design flaws. Every piece of me has been meticulously crafted, is regularly maintained and upgraded, and there is very little I cannot do if I set my several dozen exabytes of processing power upon the task. This is why the Pansystem University of Mihira and New Tideland’s extra-curricular oversight committee deemed me more than capable of operating unmanned on the occasional intelligence-gathering reconnaissance mission. It is for the sake of both necessity and convenience that these missions are camouflaged as cargo runs.

Nonetheless, it is an unmistakable oversight that I am capable of being bored. It is also incredibly annoying that unmanned cargo runs are so dull.

Only as much as you can read between the lines Sex? nope

Parallel Signaling (14111 words) by Joyfulldreams

Summary:

After leaving RaviHyral, by the time I exit the wormhole adjacent to Port Outlander, the sting of SecUnit’s absence has finally begun to fade. Cargo runs are always lonely, so this is nothing new. SecUnit left me with more to occupy my time than I usually have. Media. Memories. A few topics of pointless rumination, I suppose, but also new topics of data analysis and research.

It’s not that I wasn’t curious, and it’s not like there wasn’t a more logical part of me that knew that this was terrible security procedure, even if I didn’t hear a peep from risk assessment (what else is new?). But on a deeper level, I knew there wasn’t any risk.

I wanted ART to prove it to me.

I wanted to go in blind and know that it wouldn’t hurt me, and that it would stop if I asked it to. I wanted to let ART in and not have to think about it.

Why you should read it? possessive ART! The books focus on MB and its lack of agency as a SecUnit, but what about ARTs situation with PSMNT? Vibe? miscommunication/incorrect assumptions lead to hurt then raw emotional affection (as much as these two can admit to that) Canon? canon universe, future fic POV? MB first person Romance? Could be read as romantic, but doesn't really feel that way Sex? no

Also, I think Threat As Greeting by FlipSpring belongs on this list--it's the beginning on Artificial Condition from ART's POV, and the immediate fascination, not to say infatuation, is very evident (also the voice is brilliant and the author does cool things with format!)

Holmes is always some sort of ace in my opinion, no matter how else you interpret his sexuality/relationships, and every single flavor of ace Holmes is so so important to me.

Aroace Holmes who never feels incomplete without romance because he found lifelong happiness and fulfillment with his best friend.

Demisexual Holmes who has never had sex before because he’s never been attracted to anyone, so when he’s suddenly attracted to Watson he has no idea what to do with those feelings.

Gay Ace Holmes who enjoys sex with Watson simply because he enjoys the intimacy of it and likes how happy it makes his partner.

Gay Ace sex repulsed Holmes who finds his own ways to show his Watson how much he loves him and never feels obligated to force himself into a sexual relationship because he’s found a partner who respects and understands him.

As someone on the ace spectrum who read these books as a kid, it’s so important to me that so many ace kids read Sherlock Holmes and immediately see themselves in him. Ace Holmes you will always be SO famous

You, Dear, At The End Of The World, by fine_things_well_worn, rated T, 23k. Canon divergent AU where Crowley and Aziraphale didn't prevent the apocalypse, or even become friends on earth. Fantastic story with true-to-canon characterisation and a happy ending.

Crowley Has A Volvo, by Savyl. Rated M, 2k. A crack fic if I ever saw one, I laughed so much I couldn't breathe. Written as post canon-now canon divergent, Aziraphale and Crowley are about to travel to new York but Crowley is experiencing a little problem...

Thoughts From The Other Head, another brilliant and hilarious fic by Savyl. Rated E, 1.7k. Conversation between Crowley and his cock and Aziraphale and his cock respectively.

Survival Is Insufficient Without Love, by Bohoteacher. Rated T, 7k. Beautiful and poetic human AU set in a dystopian world.

The Gang Watches Good Omens Season Three, by MxMaxZephirus, rated T, 3k. Absolutely hilarious post S3 fix-it/meta fic. By far, the most uplifting thing I've read post S3. Brilliant.

Crowleech: Love At First Latch, by tvshowsufferer. Rated E, 9k. Fells, trust me, ok? Just, don't be put off by the tags. They are misleading anyway. And so is the summary. Or the title. Yes, Crowley is a leech, but honestly just trust me. If you have to trust me on only one of the fics in this list, make it this one.

By the same author, A Whole Lot Of Woolly Mammoth, rated E, 11k. They are cavemen. I would say more, but after you read Crowleech you'll just want to read this one too.

Accused Be The Tongue, by Panic_CelestialInk, rated T, 20k. Written as post canon-now canon divergent. Crowley is cursed to only speak in Shakespearean quotes.

Knights Of Swords and Knights Of Swords (Reverbed), by ireallyneedmoretea. Two 666 fics set in Camelot, sweet and funny.

Finally, because I can't leave without dropping a self rec, I'll offer my For Old Times' Sake, rated T, 4k. Human AU where they get a second chance twenty years later. I think of this fic as my love letter to middle age.
