SCRIPTURE: And Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked upon them, and, behold, they were sad. And he asked Pharaoh's officers that were with him in the ward of his lord's house, saying, wherefore look ye so sadly to day? Genesis 40:6-7.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your reaction is more important than your situation.
It has been confirmed that one of the key characters or attributes of great men is the maintenance of the attitude of excitement and expectancy in all situations. This is because the attitude of joy and expectancy is necessary for surmounting every situation of life.
From our anchor Scripture, we understand that Joseph was excited even in the prison. The prison was meant to be a place of sorrow but he was excited and also destroyed sorrow from the lives of other prisoners like him.
Now, take note of the following key thoughts on attitude:
1. If you have a setback, never take a step back, because every setback is a setup for a shift up
Joseph had a setback in life but his setback of going to the prison was a setup meeting with the butler for a shift-up of becoming a Prime Minister in Egypt.
2. Your attitude determines your altitude in life
How you feel determines how you fly.
3. Your attitude affects your aptitude
You can fail examinations if you are too fearful and not because you do not know the subject.
4. Your attitude affects your atmosphere.
There are people you drive away from your life because of the way you feel, look and act. These people cannot be comfortable near you.
Beloved, whatever you go through in life, refuse to lose your joy and hope. Excitement is joy while expectancy is hope.
Remember this: Your reaction is more important than your situation.
1. Always maintain the attitude of joy and excitement regardless of the prevailing situation.
2. Cultivate the lifestyle of praise and worship.
PRAYER: O Lord, I ask for the grace to maintain the attitude of excitement and expectancy always. Help me to praise and worship You at all times, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
