What is the Express Entry Program?
It is a points-based Canada Immigration program awarded to applicants for their credentials. The applicants can apply under three categories– Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
As a lawyer, the applicant can apply under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP). To be eligible under this subcategory, the candidate should meet the 67-point score out of 100 points in the FSWP points assessment grid.
Few other eligibility requirements of FSWP are –
· Applicants under the FSWP should meet the following requirements -
· One year’s work experience in full-time work within the past ten years, under NOC skill level type 0, A, or B.
· Applicants should have a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 7.

· Proof of funds to show that the applicant can provide for himself and his family members soon after relocation.
Be a lawyer in Canada in 2021
To be a lawyer in Canada, the applicant must be qualified in the Law Society of anyone province in Canada. It will require three steps:
▪ NCA Law Degree, an Equivalency Certificate (The time period ranges from 3 months to 5 years)
LLM degree obtained from a Canadian university, covering all the NCA requirements
▪ Articling (will depend on how fast the applicants can get an internship, from there, it requires a minimum of one year)
Complete an 8-month legal practice program from a recognized Canadian university.
▪ Bar exam. The Indian lawyers must have their degree assessed by the Federal Law of Society (FLSC) by creating a National Accreditation Committee (NCA). Once candidates have completed their term, candidates must submit their certificate of experience to the Bar and register for the Bar exam, which takes place three times a year.
