Help Send Love In 2019

I’ve heard that tumblr is a great community for charity, so I’m reaching out despite failures on facebook and twitter this far. For 2019, I chose my word as Send Love. Each month i will be choosing a different charity and finding ways to serve that charity other than just throwing money at them.  I am dubbing my project for 2019 Send Love, 2019 or Send Love, 19. Each month I will be picking a different charity or ministry and finding a way to serve that ministry beyond just donating money.

As with any service project or ministry, this cannot be done alone. I’m asking anyone who feels led to help donate and I have two specific ways of donating, either through facebook via fundraiser (which is linked) or this amazon wish list at http://a.co/2FYJvF2.My first charity is for January and I will making animal toys from tennis balls and socks for the Animal Care Foundation. 

This charity does many great things for animals from dogs to cats. They donate animal houses and food to those who need it, among other projects. I’d like to make around 50 animal toys for them to give away with the shelters and food as well.I’m also planning ahead and fundraising for February.

 In February I will be gathering school supplies for Midway Elementary school and my dear friend April Leonard who is a teacher there. I would like to create valentines baskets to give to the kids full of school supplies, essentials (toothpaste, deoderant etc, a few fun games and such).

 I attended Midway Elementary as a kid and it really touched me earlier this year when April talked about how many of the students and teachers were already out of supplies and struggling through the school year.

 I thought that Valentines would be the perfect time to remind the students that they aren’t alone. (later in the year I will do a service for teachers, specifically). April is getting me numbers on students, but I would like to start by setting the goal at 50 baskets. Again, there are supplies listed at http://a.co/3yFUYWj that you can send directly to me or you can donate to the funraiser. I will probably do one or two of these funraisers through out the year as needed for service supplies, this is primarily to get the year kicked off!
