while there are a lot of mers they do not always gather in large numbers in one place this means that mer ghosts are actually relatively hard to come by and many ghost fish and other assorted oceanic species usually arent very noisy

most of the ethereal mer chatting is useless and i tend to ignore it but very rarely does a ghost have an interesting story theyre willing to tell
