Porcelain Female Forms That Blur the Line Between Humans and Nature by Juliette Clovis
I am energy. I am galactic. I am psychedelic.
Happy Saturday >:)
Having a deeply (somewhat terrifyingly) revolutionizing Spring, I’m happy to report. Here’s the part where I give obligatory “blogger” apology for inactivity - with finals coming up you can expect to see me on here a lot more.
But guys, hey. I have something really important to tell you. This is a very powerful time of year. I’ve felt it every Spring the last 5 years, and normally I just smile and watch as the wave passes into what is ultimately a melancholy summer of lonely paradise...but, this year I’ve been RIDING THAT SHIT. The scientist in me detests the idea, but it seems like there is this “other” thing that keeps poking into my life and blossoming in a chorus of synchronicities. And it’s certainly not something that’s limited to myself, nothing new; been passively observing the same shit in other people’s lives and seeing some very intelligent and careful thinkers arrive at similar conclusions. On one hand I want so badly for it to be a mistake of ego/perception as a pattern-seeking creature in a fully-apparent universe, but on the other hand I’ve been paying a LOT of attention to information flow between seemingly isolated social ecosystems and I’ve been careful with confirmation bias (omission of contradictory evidence, disregard for more realistic explanations) but I keep finding coincidences that I just can’t explain. It’s usual for information to arise simultaneously in isolated systems because those systems aren’t really isolated, they’re immersed in the same unity. Those isolated groups experience the same systemic “drama” or sometimes they are both primed for the same information where the seed of the idea is picked up passively, absorbed into the subconscious, and the idea inevitably influences decision and creative genesis. It has always been a point of pride that I pay a lot of attention to the information I absorb - impervious to advertisement and propaganda, or so my ego would tell you - and a lot of times I can find a common source for weird information synchronicity. But lately there’s a lot of stuff that just seems to defy explanation. In the past my deeply seated fear of the unknown intervened and I ended up ignoring the coincidences and *ta-da* life goes on. You don’t find what you don’t seek, climb down and your world shrinks and resumes as it did before. But lately I’ve been inviting it in and trying to dig deeper and it’s fucking beautiful, ineffable, like I’m merging with part of myself that is far more integral than anything I had experienced as single isolated self.
So I hope that you guys start digging a little deeper into the phenomena of your life, if you aren’t already doing so. I’m not sure what will work for you, but for me: move away from fear consciousness, pay attention to what is happening here and now, move away from protagonist syndrome, meditate, love...it’s all been said before by many people more articulate than myself. I wish you luck - see ya out there! ;)

Whoever believes in the good in people, draws forth the good in people.

The Harriss spiral is constructed from rectangles in the ratio of the plastic number (1.3247…), in a similar way to how a Fibonacci spiral is created from rectangles in the related golden ratio (1.6180…). These plastic rectangles can be split into two smaller plastic rectangles, leaving a square. Recursively splitting the rectangles, and drawing curves in the squares gives this fractal spiral. Another animation of the fractal Harriss spiral. This exploits the plastic number (1.3247…) a number whose cube is itself plus one. This number is considered by some to be the forgotten cousin of the golden ratio (whose square is itself plus one).
Your relationship with yourself sets the tone for every other relationship you have.
