Bruce quickly swallowed the large amount of food in his mouth. “Yeah, I’m fine. He takes a lot of energy. Not just him coming out, but talking to him too. I’m not sure just why yet. I’ll get used to it.” He shrugged before shoving a handful of fries into his mouth.

Tony gave Bruce a look like he was itching to start running some tests but was resisting. He tried not to ever treat Bruce like a science project, but it was hard when they both treated everything like a science project. Tony certainly treated himself like a science project. "Yeah, and mentally?" he asked. He knew how Bruce was with the Hulk, never having trusted him before and always so hesitant about the "monster." Being the Hulk had driven Bruce to attempt to take his own life; Tony could only imagine what he was feeling now.

Bruce just chuckled and finished getting changed. Bruce dove into the fries as soon as Tony put it in his lap. “You are ridiculous.” He said rolling his eyes with his mouth full.

"And you look like a starved lion on a zebra," Tony said, watching Bruce devour his fries for a moment before turning back to his own food. "You okay?" he asked after a moment with unusual seriousness.

Bruce just smirked at the fact that Tony couldn’t come up with a better come back. “Um, I kind of am, even if I or the Hulk didn’t mean it. People still died because the Hulk came out.” He shrugged, he knew it was true. It was his fault, no matter what what people told him. He was starting to accept that fact and get over, not that he could ever really do that. “Sure they are, I just don’t have to be the reason they die. Plus vegetarian food is better and good for you.”

"You need to wash your mouth out with soap," Tony said, staring at Bruce with wide-eyed shock. When the food came, he jumped up and grabbed it all immediately, dumping 48 containers of fries into Bruce's lap and keeping the last two, and the burgers, for himself. "Mine's healthier," he declared, holding up the meat. "Vegetarian food is better and good for you."

"Hmm, part of me says I shouldn’t believe you and the other part of me agrees, I definitely shouldn’t believe you." He smirked. "Yes I’m still on that. I’d like to minimize the number of deaths I’m responsible for, even if it just includes fuzzy animal deaths." Bruce opened his mouth to argue, but shut it when his stomach growled. He probably could eat fifty orders.

"You're an ass, and you're not responsible for any deaths. And the animals are going to die anyway," Tony said, plopping down into the nearest seat and pulling out his phone so as to call in their order (he did, in fact, order fifty orders of fries and a couple of cheeseburgers to be delivered; he offered extra for them to do it fast).

Bruce raised an eyebrow. “Oh really? Pepper has told me some stories that would prove otherwise.” He laughed. Bruce didn’t say anything about what Tony said. It didn’t matter what Tony wanted, it’s what the Hulk decided he wanted. “I’m still a vegetarian, you know.” He rolled his eyes. “I guess I’ll just live on fries and onion rings then.”

Tony glared at nothing in particular. "Pepper lies. Don't believe a word she says. You're still on that? Meat makes the world go round, my friend," he said. "Fine. Fifty orders of fries it is."

"I guess Steve’s taught you something then." He teased. Bruce pretended like the thought of not being let back out didn’t scare him. "Yeah, sure, at this point the greasier and more carbs the better. The Hulk’s pretty much a living reactor. Even if he isn’t doing anything, he needs fuel."

Tony pretended to look offended. "I've always been classy," he protested; whether this was true or not, however, the fact remained--Steve had made him a better man. Tony paused, slightly, watching Bruce's reaction before saying (forcing the same casual tone as before), "That was a joke. I pick you, you know." As much of a fan as he was of the Hulk, and he did genuinely want to spend time with the acclaimed "monster," Tony would still much rather hang out with Bruce--his friend. He clapped his hands together gleefully. "This just keeps getting better. We're getting Burger King. The day has finally come for you to experience real food."

Bruce smiled knowing he was at least a little right. “Oh good, I’m glad you have a date with him. Make sure you bring him flowers and chocolates and have a him back by midnight.” He joked. “Can we get something now? I’m starving again.”

"I will. I'm classy, and a gentleman," Tony said. "You better be careful, Brucey. He's going to start hanging out with me and never want to let you out again," he teased. He nodded, taking off the rest of the suit before the two headed out of the Hulk-proof room. "Tell me we can get fries."

Tony shrugged, unable to argue with that particular fact. He had, after all, made bombs exclusively for a very long span of his life. "Thank you. Oh, I'm taking him for burgers next week," he informed Bruce, clapping his friend on the shoulder.

He shrugged. “Once I figured he could handle it, I kind of dozed off.” Bruce yawned. “Yeah, well, I didn’t think it could be done a year ago.” He rolled his eyes. “So, I’ve heard. You still like him, now that he’s not all dangerous and mysterious?”

Tony raised an eyebrow. "That's why you thought I liked him? I never thought he was dangerous and mysterious. Now that I know I'm right, I like him even more."

Harry fought the urge to laugh at the superpower Tony apparently didn’t know he had: x-ray vision. He could see right through Harry. Shooting him a skeptical eyebrow-raise before nodding at the instruction, he turned and picked the whatever-it-was up, setting it down where he had been pointing to. “Done. What was that for?” He figured it had something to do with tricking him into working on something, but he was willing to go along with it. He’d been mindlessly signing papers all day and tuning out droning businessmen; he could use a little mental workout, if he was being honest with himself.

Tony shrugged. "Sit down," he instructed without any further explanation. "Now use that, and screw that together." He pointed between the tool and the machine on the desk in front of Harry. "Make yourself useful." He honestly didn't mind Harry just hanging around down there; Steve did it all the time--sitting around on one of the couch's, sketching or playing with the bots. But Tony and Harry were the sort of of people, he knew, who responded better to a job than to mushy conversations about feelings and connection, and if working on something could help keep Harry's mind off his current situation, then, well, it was worth it.

Bruce had actually fallen asleep while the Hulk was out, so he was well rested when the Hulk gave him his body back. Too bad his body still worn out from the transformation even though the Hulk didn’t do much. He quickly grabbed the remains of his pants, let out a yawn, and stretched. “So how’d it go? He didn’t hurt you right?” Bruce asked

"Were you sleeping?" Tony asked suspiciously, though he still couldn't keep from smiling as he said it. "It was great. We should have done that a year ago. I'm good. I told you he likes me."
