In the interest of harm reduction I thought I’d post some things I wish I’d thought of before trying meth the first time.
1. Do you have money to support a meth habit? This is extremely, extremely important. This is what makes the difference between a functional user and a homeless dope ho. Basically, can you pay your bills AND buy dope without having to lie, cheat, steal, commit other crimes or have sex to get it? If not you will end up doing one or all of those before you know it.
2. Do you have any lives depending on you? This could be kids or pets at home or, depending on your job it could mean lots of other people. For example, a day care worker, fire fighter, security, and so on. Decide right now that you won’t let your meth use affect those whose lives you affect. This includes you and your health and hygiene.
3. Do you have any pre-existing mental conditions? Are there any that run in your family? Contrary to popular opinion, meth doesn’t change a person in their core. It just amplifies what’s already there. So if you are friendly and flirty you could become horny and a bit slutty. If you’re chatty you’ll talk someone’s ear off. If you’re artsy you’ll color for hours. But if you have anger issues, you could be a psychotic a-hole. If you’re depressed, you’ll do nothing but dwell on your problems. If you’re a hypochondriac or paranoid you’ll end up being one of those people who think they have bugs in their skin or that the government is after them. Don’t expect meth to change you, other than increasing what’s already there.
4. If you are wanting to do meth to escape or to hide from emotional issues, you’re not going to have a good high. It’s just not that great for that. Meth is best as a feel good party type drug to use only for fun, not to medicate yourself.
5. (Optional) If you’ve read all this, and considered these and all the other ramifications and you still want to take the plunge, make the choice and be done with it. What I mean by that, is don’t post a pic with a big smile and a fat sack and then spend the rest of the night writing emo poetry about how much you hate yourself for buying it. Do dope or don’t do dope. There’s no sense in continuing to do it and to beat yourself up and cry about it. If you don’t want to continue, quit. Just make a decision and then go with it. Keep this in mind–drugs are supposed to be fun. If you aren’t having fun then what’s the point??
8 Made a list of all persons who need help and became willing to help those we can.
9 Made direct assistance to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure us.
10 Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
11 Sought through reflection and discussion ways we can make life better for ourselves and others.
12 Having had an awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to others, and to practice these principles in all our affairs, sober or not.

They have removed the original Tumblr from the App Store, put in a new version for 2.99 and by doing so, not only are they making money off their customers, but in order to leave reviews you’d have to purchase their new version. If the old version was still there, we could warn folks how bad it is now. Tumblr is trying to get rid of us, make money off all of us all while trying to make their site family friendly. I hope you choke on it!

Some Christians claim their god has implanted in all of mankind an objective morality.
Perhaps it would have been clever to instil within all people that killing other people with stones was wrong, or that slavery was wrong, or genocide was less than ideal, or that sex with and rape of children wasn’t really nice, or causing millions to become infected with fatal diseases because latex sperm repositories are thought to be evil just isn’t cool.
Perhaps it might have been a good idea to instill within the priests of the Inquisition a sense of morality that didn’t include setting people on fire.
No. Our morality absolutely does not come from a god or from a “holy” book. Instead, we must look to two critical components of our evolutionary, societal needs, reciprocity and empathy.
