"Implying a certain someone isn't also eccentric"
"Oh? Who might that be, Captain Noble?"
"You know all too well who I am talking about"
"enlighten me."
"Well, I am looking right at them" ah if he could grin he would

Send đŹ + a rumor and my muse will react to it.

They didnât quite like that he did have a point ⊠But, in understanding his point, they backed off. Their implants flick back to inactive with just the slightest twinge of pain in their brow- The world around them going dark once more.
Yes, the headache was already horrendous, but masking pain was nothing new to them. It didnât show on their face.
âVery well. But if you die, Iâm killing you a second time.â
He frowned a bit at the twinge of pain, not that they could see it, for the better really. They were quite the pair, werenât they? Tired vets normally with more than enough pain and physical alterations to prove it... Life truly had put them both through the ringer.
âIâll take your word on that one.â
He managed a soft chuckle
âIf it makes you feel any better. I do have a plan in the works to resolve much of my health issues. The only hold up is the inability to test it properly.â
as much fun as i've had with your shorter stature, it's good to see you back as your usual, very climbable self
He chuckled softly.
"It's good to be back to normal"
"Back to cheating again, huh? How did being fully organic again feel like anyway? The last time I saw bro in something like that he was a sea creature so it wasn't exactly average." -argonr
"It's not cheating. It was either this or be constantly dwarfed by the boys. It was nice though, to do things I couldn't do anymore... I'd forgotten what some things felt like"
Back to normal... Mostly cybernetic, only a few organs left... It was nice while it lasted. Though once again the drastic height difference has thrown him off a fair bit..... He's just going to sit for a moment until he can adjust. He will address his health situation once he can properly function again...

Eventually said seal poked his head out of the water. Of course someone noticed, better someone he knew than a random civilian. Not that it mattered, whatâs the worst someone could do with such temporary magic? Not much reallyâŠ
âEvening Sayuâ
The voice was⊠Familiar. Although far less autotuned.
Wading her way into the water, she squeals with delight when their head pops out of the water. Oh wow, they were even cuter up close! She had so many questions to ask. And she would have fired them all off like bullets right away, had the seal not spoken first. Those two words alone stopped her in her tracks. She recognized the voice all right, and she could hardly believe her ears.
âMister⊠J?â her voice was uncharacteristically quiet, âis that really you??â Her pitch rises in tone with each progressive word.
The seal looked amused. He had intended to tell her either way, although being caught as is was not how it had been planned in his head, ah well.
âIndeed it is. I had intended to tell you for some time now, suppose I got caught enjoying myself after a bout of strange magic before thatâ
He chuckled softly, it sounded more like an amused huff as a seal though. Not like under normal circumstances anyone could tell. Being a cyborg normally meant that he was restricted to that and that alone, rendering his skin practically useless and no more than a fluffy accessory with sentimental value...

âYour hand.â
They hold out their own, and it seems they mean business - Helmet off, and their ocular implants (Despite the headaches they cause,) are active.
He makes a soft sound as if to protest, however he doesnât argue, hesitantly offering his own hand. Were it anyone else, he might have been more stubborn but- He couldnât argue here. After a moment he opens his hand⊠There is blood.
âBefore you say anything, Iâm fineâŠ..â
He didnât sound confident about that oneâŠ
They had half a mind to slap him silly.
âYou are not fine- Coughing up blood is not fine.â
Tense.
The final âfineâ wavers with an emotion - Not a good one, either.
Their brows press together just slightly, their lips pursed tight.
âCoughing up blood means there is either blood in your lungs or you have abrasions in your throat, both of which are very bad signs - Jae, you need to seek medical attention for this.â
Their grip, though ⊠Gentle around his wrist, is firm and unyielding. Despite the cybernetics, there is a TrembleâŠ
He had wanted to avoid this- Just one more day and he should be back to normal... He had known his own health had continued deteriorating, especially since the hijackings... What he didnât expect however was for it to manifest with this strange.... Magic. And now he couldnât hide the coughing, the bad signs...
âPercy I- ...... Okay, Iâm not fine... But what can I do like this? I canât just waltz right into a hospital and say âhey itâs me Jae Noble, the same one thatâs supposed to be a cyborg.â Just one more day and Iâll be back to normal... I can handle one more day. I had expected my lungs would need to be replaced sooner or later.... Just like everything else....â
How much more was he just... Delaying the inevitable? Far too many times had he avoided death, and so little of him remained organic under normal circumstances. Everything was just backing him more and more into a corner, what will go out next? Will he even make it past 50? He didnât want to die.
âIâll do something after things wear off... I promise. I donât really have a choice until thenâ

"...Jae."
"..... Yes?"
You shouldn't be proud of yourself or your parenthood considering how you badly failed one of them. Carrying on with the rest as if their life didn't matter.
He is silent for a very long time, staring down at the ground. His stance is stiff, and as he speaks he doesnât look up.
âI have done my best for my troops. I know I am far from perfect... Because I failed one I vowed to never fail any of them again...â
He straightens up now, and looks the anon dead on, there is clear anger in his eyes as he leans in closer, raising his voice as he speaks again.
âAnd donât you DARE assume I have done nothing! You may think I have carried on without a thought for them. But I have not gone a day without trying to figure out how to fix what my inexperience has caused. I have spent many sleepless nights working for hours on end fixing their coding. You do not know the time and effort I have put into trying to fix my mistakes, do not assume you know.â
He pauses and has a brief coughing fit into his hand, glancing at it before closing it into a fist and turning away.
âWho are you to dictate oneâs worth?â
do you think your boys are ready to take up the mantle of chartership (charterhood? charterdom? hm...) in your absence, whether temporary or permanent?
"They already are the charters. For the most part I merely handle paperwork and scheduling, among other things. I am certain if need be they could take up those duties among themselves. However... I have no intentions of leaving them..."
do you fear death, captain?
"Everything does to some extent. Do you?"
He isn't giving a direct answer
Ask my muse increasingly personal questions. See how far you can push them.
