I sighed as I closed my suitcase : The year was finally over . I was going back to London this summer and frankly, I couldn't wait . Spending time with my family will help me take a break from college, work ... and Baekhyun . After a long heart-breaking discussion, we realized it was time for us to “break up” or whatever you want to call it . That meant no phone calls, no texts , no hangouts, nothing . We’ll just ignore each other from now on . I cried a lot that day, and I could tell he was torn too because he wouldn't look at me while he was getting all of his stuff from my flat. 

“ Are you sure there's no other solution ? I don't wanna lose my best friend over something stupid , I really don’t, please ...” I pleaded while sobbing and pulling on his arm . But that wasn't stopping him from walking towards the door.

“Are you actually setting me up on date , dad ? Wow, I always knew you were old fashioned, but we’ve reached a whole new level today !” I exclaimed while sipping g on my glass of wine . 

“N-no you’re taking it the wrong way ! I’m not trying to control your dating life , I just want you to meet people !” He seemed flustered and I hated myself for talking to him like that. 

“Whatever , I’m tired anyway , I should go to bed .” I excused myself from the table and went upstairs . My heart felt heavy again and I felt like crying again but my door opened and I saw my sister in law standing there . We were quite close and I could tell her everything . Almost everything . 

“Yemi, babe, are you okay ?” She seemed concerned .

“Yeah, don’t worry sis, I'm good, this year has been a little tough , that’s it.” She stared at me and I knew she could feel something was wrong, but she just smiled and kissed my forehead goodnight before leaving . 

Two days passed and General Chavez and his son came over . I had actually gave in to my father and took Ryan on a tour of London . He was honestly quite nice , and I found myself enjoying spending time with him and even waiting for the next time we will see each other ...

“Yemi, come say hi to your uncle ! Why are you being so shy all of a sudden ? Her and General Byun’s son are the best of friends, they’ve know each other for ever !” My father explained to Ryan as I went and hugged Baekhyun’s father , still unable to breathe properly . 

“Wow , uncle ! Your house is still the same after all these years !! I have so many memories here !” 

I flinched at the sound of the voice and the little giggle I had desperately craved. I turned around quickly and he was there, with a huge smile plastered on his face and the mischievous sparkle in his eyes . My Baekhyun . 

However, his eyes quickly darkened when he saw me . He still went for a quick hug and I almost broke in his arms . He patted my back and let go of me to shake Ryan’s hand . 

We all had dinner together this night and Baekhyun didn't say a word to me , but his eyes were telling me he was furious . He looked like he hated me . I too was trying to avoid his gaze, until I received a text from him . 

“Your room. In 10 mins”

“I don’t think that's a good idea Baek .” 

 I was so proud of myself for resisting him . No matter how much I missed him . I was also very annoyed by his behavior , how could he be angry at me? I should be the one giving him the death glare , not the other way round .

When we were all done eating , the people would normally separate , the “adults” would stay in the living room, while we would go outside on the veranda . “So! Ryan ! I heard you’re dating Yemi , is that right ?” Everyone laughed and he was smirking like an idiot . 

“Umm , dating is a strong word, but we’ve been seeing each other , yeah” Ryan chuckled and I couldn’t help but feel sorry for him , poor guy didn't know who he was against. 

“Good , good , she hasn’t told you about her crazy side yet?” Ryan laughed loudly and shook his head 

“No not yet man, I didn't see anything .”

It’s been weeks now . Weeks that I’ve been so distant from Baekhyun. It killed me of course, but I had no other choice. “Let go Yixing . I can’t stay here , I’m suffocating.” I managed to get away from him and opened the door quickly without looking at him.

“ Will you come back? Don’t leave me alone.”

He was crying. I could hear it. I left without answering and ran as fast as I could , unable to make the big lump in my stomach go away.

This was it . Today was the day. I was going to be Mrs.Zhang in a few hours. To be fair, I didn’t get much sleep last night. Let’s just say that the panic attack I had in the middle of the night didn’t help much. I couldn’t believe what was happening. I was going to be the wife of the head of one of the most powerful gang ever. When did that happen? There were so many responsibilities coming with this title. That means I would have to change completely! And I don’t want to change! Does Xing want me to change? Fuck, this was by far the most stressful thing I’ve had to do in my life. And to know that my destiny was set up as soon as my mom pushed me out of her womb made everything weirder and scarier. I can still hear the words of my dad echoing in my head .

-1 month earlier-

“Papa, we need to talk.” I was so stern I might have scared him, judging by the look he’s giving me .

“Y-yes, sweetie, what is it?” He took his glasses off and shifted in his seat.

“This marriage thing with Yixing, it was meant to happen for a long time, right? That little talk we had a few months ago, that was just to make it seem like it was a sudden opportunity, but my fate was decided a long time ago, correct?” I was breathless as I was talking, apprehending the truth. My dad sighed deeply and rubbed his temples.

“Who told you that?” He threatened.

“Just tell me the truth dad, don’t you think I deserve it? All I’ve been doing these days is obediently approve the life choices you made for me. I think the least you can do is being honest with me .” I looked at him straight in the eyes , searching for any hint of compassion.

“You’re absolutely right. I should be honest with you . Yes, your marriage with Yixing was actually decided a long time ago, when him and your brother became close. Me and his father, we both decided that you two should marry. That way, we could keep peace between the two gangs.” I sat down in front of him at that and widened my eyes in contemplation.

“But, I was just a child at that time, how could you ... Forget it. Did he know about this ? Yixing? Did you or his father told him that he would have to marry me?” My hands were nervously tapping on his desk.

“Of course,pumpkin! He knew all along ! Yixing is older than you, and he was always very mature, so we told him, and he immediately understood. He never said anything to you because he didn’t want to scare you ..” I scoffed at that.

“So he was able to understand, but you guys immediately thought that I was too stupid, or too young and immature, you decide, to let ME know about MY future ? You could have just told me, I would’ve understood! I was always pretty mature for my age, dad. Growing up as a girl in an environment full of testosterone and violence makes you mature enough, trust me.” Words were pouring out of my mouth like venom.

“Change your tone, I don’t like the way you’re talking to me. And yes, you’ve always been mature, that’s true. But we both know you were a very rebellious kid, and if I had even made the slightest allusion about arranged marriage, you would have ran away from the house .” He made a point there.

“... True.” He started laughing and I followed him, unable to stay upset. He was my father after all. He would never do anything to hurt me.

“Come here , love, give you dad a hug. Soon you’ll be out of this house, and I won’t be able to hold you in my arms whenever I want...” I ran to him and hugged him as tight as I could.

“My little baby. You grew up so fast ... Yesterday, you were still waking me up in the middle of the night to kill the monsters in your room, and now you’re getting married next month...” He was staring blankly at the floor. “How is Yixing with you ? Does he treat you good?”

“He’s the best, dad. He’s always been good to me.” I looked up at him smiling.

“I know, just making sure here.” He stroked my cheek. “Don’t you have to go try you dress today? Go quick , your mom must be so stressed already, we don’t want to upset her more” He warned wincing.

“Ugh, God, you’re right. I’ll see you tonight!” He just hummed and went back to work. I ran downstairs to see my mom nervously tapping her foot glaring at me. I was in for a long day...

-Present day-

I had woken up pretty early today. Marina spent the night over , holding my hand while sleeping to make the stress go away. And it worked, at least until I woke up and realized what was coming later. I was in the kitchen cooking breakfast when Marina joined me.

“Hey! Here’s the future bride! How are you feeling this morning?” She shouted, apparently over excited.

“Pretty good, appart from the fact that I’m gonna marry your cousin in a few hours... Oh my god , I’m gonna marry Yixing in a few hours !” And with that we laughed loudly, waking my brother in the process.

“Why are you two always so loud for ?! It’s literally 8pm! I can never get any sleep in this house!” He barked at us rubbing his eyes.

“Well, good morning to you too Sam, it’s been a while!” Marina answered as she was setting the table . Sam just chuckled at her words.

“Sammy, can’t you be less grumpy and just enjoy breakfast? I won’t be around anymore to make you fried flatbread whenever you want for a while you know ?” I said pointing my spatula in his direction.

“You’re right , I can’t believe this annoying piece of shit is going to leave the house later today , oh my god what’s gonna happen to me !” He fake cried . He was always trying to de-dramatize the situation, but I knew he was affected by this marriage thing .

We all ate breakfast and I went upstairs to get ready for my wedding. A few hours later, I was in front of my mirror, admiring myself. I would lie if I told you I wasn’t looking good. I smiled, satisfied by the final result and we all headed outside. Anxiety was growing more and more present as we arrived by the church. I grabbed my mom’s hand and she squeezed it back. It was going to be okay... And it really went well . We exchanged our vows and Yixing kissed me very chastely then hugged me . “You look absolutely dashing in that dress Mrs.Zhang.” He said in my ear. I giggled and hit his arm playfully.

Then the wedding reception came. Everyone’s eyes were on us during our first dance and it made me pretty fucking nervous. But Xing did a good job at distracting me , switching between lame jokes and praises . I could tell this marriage thing was going to be a good thing. We went back to our seats after that and my mom came to talk to me with a very stern look on her face. Uh-oh.

“Love?” I hated that fake smile of hers.

“Mom? What’s with the stern look? Why so serious?” I decided to attack first.

“Nothing! I mean... I came to talk about ... what’s going to happen tonight after the wedding... You know, your wedding night.” Ew.

“ ... I’m not going to listen!” I looked away from her.

“No ! Look, I’m just trying to help here! I should have done that before, but I’m not used to that! You know my mother didn’t give me any advice...Now tell me, did ... something happen between you and Yixing before the wedding? Did you guys do it ?” Wow, ok,how embarrassing.

“No mom ! Nothing happened! I promise!” I was so panicked, god .

“Really? Not even a month ago ?” Shit. “ I heard you on the phone with him when you sneaked outside of the house, I even saw you running to his car .” She crosses her arms over her chest.

“Nothing happened mom I promise! Please believe me !” I begged.

“It’s okay baby ! It can happen! In fact , you might not know this but before we got married, your dad and I we...”

“Nope! I’m not listening to this, thank you !” I put my hands over my ears and winced . She laughed then cleared her throat.

“More seriously, Mina , don’t overthink this, do not stress too much over this , it will make it painful for you. Try to enjoy, ok?” She took my hand in hers.

“Ok mom, got it...” I said, visibly uncomfortable.

3 hours later, the advice my mom gave me must have completely vanished from my brain, because I was in the bed under Yixing and I’ve never felt so terrified. My dress was long gone , just like his suit, and his lips were on my clevage , leaving soft kisses and little bites. His hand was snaking on my back , undoing my bra and throwing it somewhere in the room. He stared at my boobs and simply muttered a quiet “beautiful” then grabbed a handful of my breast before kissing them passionately. I was squirming and whimpering under him , but I was enjoying it . He went back to kissing me while taking my panties off and I gasped, breaking the kiss. That’s when everything snapped.

“Why do you look so scared?!” He was panting hard .

“I-I don’t know , just nervous.” I was terrified.

“We-we don’t have to do this babe . I’m completely fine with waiting , you know!” He reassured me, and a part of me was relieved.

“I would like that, thanks .” He nodded and pulled the covers over us , then grabbed my hips and pressed me against him.

“Let’s go to sleep, babe, I’m exhausted.” He said, wrapping his arms around me. I sighed in comfort and closed my eyes.

I know this wasn’t usual, and I was probably gonna get laughed at tomorrow morning when the elders come to “ask about it” but right now it seemed right. It felt right.

“He did what ?!” Marina shouted out loud , her eyes nearly popping out. She always gives me the best reactions and I love her for that . But we were in public now , and the last thing I wanted was to draw the attention to us . I winced at her high pitched voice and took a sip of my drink.

“Ok, chill the fuck down babe, everyone is looking at us ... I said he kissed me , twice .” Marina and I have no taboos with eachother , but I don’t know why I was embarrassed to tell her that.

“And you kissed him back didn’t you ?! You did right ?! No, don’t even answer that , I know you did !...Why would you kiss him back ?!”

“Well I don’t know bitch, maybe because I’ll be his wife in two months !” I told her throwing my arms in the air .

“Right, I forgot about that... Some part of my brain still hasn’t processed the fact that you’ll be someone’s wife in two months ...” I could feel a tinge if pain in her voice. Me and her had always agreed to marry later, when we figure out what to do with our lives . I grabbed her hand and squeezed it .

“Babe, I know how you feel , and if it feels weird to you, imagine how it feels to me ... This was so unexpected... But I can’t let my parents down they’re counting on me ...” I reassured her, smiling. She scoffed and smirked at me .

“Girl get the fuck out of here, we both know you agreed to this marriage cause you’ve been crazy about Xing since middle school.”

“You’re damn right !” I admitted laughing. She joined me too and stared at me . I could tell she was really concerned .

“ Will you be okay though ? I know Yixing, he’s a good man, but you’re like my twin, and I want to protect you from any danger, including my own family...” I grabbed her hand and held it as tight as I could.

“I’ll be fine don’t worry too much about me and focus on yourself, because you’re next!” I smirked , giving her a wink.

“He’ll no bitch, I’m staying in my parents’ house until I die, you know that !”

The rest of the day was spent like this, just us enjoying our time together and me contemplating my last few times as a single girl. I finally drove Marina back to her place and got home then texted Yixing .

[Me 4:37 pm]

“Helloooooo !!! How is my future husband being ? Pretty busy huh ? I know how it feels, Sam didn’t come home for two days because of the amount of work...”

I locked my phone and decided to binge on stupid reality shows. Yes, they are not intellectually stimulating, but I can’t deny how entertaining it is either. I grabbed my phone twenty minutes after, no answer. 1hour, no answer... 2, 3,4 hours , no answer. I bit my lip realizing how drowned in work he might be. I decided to send a second text, you know, just in case.

[Me 9:00pm]

“Hey, I know you’re super busy and you can’t talk to me right now, but I just wanted to say that you’re doing really well, don’t overwork yourself.”

And with that I did my little night routine and went to bed

-A WEEK LATER-

Nothing. Still nothing. I mean I know this kind of work requires you to do... overtime, but a week? A whole week without any news ? No, that was just to much. I was ranting at my mirror when I phone buzzed . I ran to grab it and my heart literally dropped when I saw the text .

I’m okay, thanks.

That’s it? That’s the shit he’s going to give me after being absent for a week ? No problem, I’ll show him .

Who’s this ? Your number isn’t saved on my phone, sorry.

Okay, I admit, that was too much. But that’s what he deserved, right?... Right?!

A minute after the text was sent , Xing called me .

“Hi Xingie, everything good, you suddenly remembered you have a fiancée?”

I heard a long sigh coming out of his mouth.

“Where are you right now ? In your room I hope .”

“W-well yeah, where do you expect me to be at this time ?”

“Good. Come out for a minute , I wanna see you .”

I was smiling so hard at the other hand of the phone. I was so proud of myself for some reason. The fact that he came all the way here from work just to see me made me feel some type of way . But I couldn’t let him know that . No . He wasn’t winning this battle .

“I don’t know about this Yixing, do you not see the time ? What makes you think I would want to come out this late ? Do you honestly think you’re gonna make yourself forgiven because you randomly come here to...”

“I don’t recall asking for your opinion, Mina come out now. Hurry”

Oh wow , I was in trouble . Not because I was scared of him , but because being man handled by Yixing was oddly arousing to me . I sighed deeply into the phone , feigning annoyance.

“What if my dad catches me ? He’s gonna kill me !” I asked , even though getting caught by my dad was the least of my worries right now.

“I don’t care,find a way” And he hung up just like that. I ran out of my bed and grabbed a pair of leggings. (Not gonna lie, I chose this pair for a reason, they made me look really good) Then, I rushed to my mirror and fixed my hair. I didn’t bother to do anything to my face .Thank god for lashes extensions. I walked out of my room and went down the stairs with feather steps, trying to make less noise as possible. I decided to go for the backyard door, as it provided less chances to get caught . I opened the door and decided to leave it like that , to make it easier to get back to my room after . I spotted Yixing’s car and ran to it . He smiled when he saw me , opening his door for me .

“You came !” He seemed pleasantly surprised about it .

“You didn’t give me that much of a choice now, did you ?” I added smirking.

“I didn’t think you would. Knowing how much of a temper and attitude you have , I must say I’m pretty chocked .”

I fake gasped and clutched my heart. That caused Yixing to burst out in laughter.

“I’m really sorry babygirl. Those days have been hell to me .”

“I know, I feel so bad for getting mad at you when you were just trying to do your job...”I pouted and put my face in my hands .

“No,no, don’t say that! My job is important for sure , but you should always come first...Always.”

I was trying so hard not to smile , which Yixing must have noticed since he chuckled and ruffled my hair.

“Baby?” I just hummed and looked in his direction.

“You know, I could really use a kiss right now.”

Oh fuck. That’s it , I was flustered again ! Honestly, I have to thank the Lord for making me black because I couldn’t deal with the blushing otherwise.

“Y-you want a kiss?” He just hummed and bit his lip . Why was he so hot ?!

I leaned over to him and gave him the most innocent peck before smiling.

“Really? That’s it ? We both know you can do much better... Come here ...”

He patted his lap , gesturing me to come sit on it . He didn’t have to tell me twice. I climbed on him and straddled his hips. He grabbed my face and smiled before locking his lips with mine . Five minutes later, we were making out like crazy and his hands were squeezing my hips, guiding them to grind on him. The idea of grinding on Yixing while making out with him in the middle of the night was driving me completely insane. And judging by his hard on rubbing on the inside of my thigh , I could tell he was affected too. He suddenly pushed his hips up harshly onto my center and I released a long moan.

“Xing, please...” I begged like I was craving his touch. The feeling was so new to me I didn’t know how to act. But I didn’t really mind sounding desperate.

“Dangerous?” I tried to act as innocent as possible, though I knew exactly what he meant.

“I know that Xing, but I want you so bad” I answered as my hand unconsciously travelled from his face down to his belt.

“That’s it , get off me . You’re not helping me keeping my self control.” He ordered with a painful laugh . I got off him and sat in the passenger seat . He kissed my hand then grabbed my face and kissed me passionately one last time .

“I should probably go Xing. I have to wake up early tomorrow.” I rubbed my eyes and yawned.

“Yeah? What are you doing tomorrow?”

“I have to go and pick up my dress Xing...” Why was I embarrassed to tell him that ?

“Oh, right ... Damn , you really are going to be Mrs Zhang huh ?” He joked , smirking down.

“I guess , it’s crazy to me too” I covered my face in excitement.

“It isn’t to me... I figured you would be my wife a while ago, actually.”

“W-what? You knew ?” My eyes widened so much they were gonna pop off.

“Aww baby , you’re so cute ! You still don’t get it ? We were meant to be kitten ! It has always been this way !” He said poking my nose. “Go babe, get loads of sleep. I’ll text you tomorrow, okay ?”

I left his car and quietly got back to my house then my room. As I was lying in bed , I kept thinking about what he said. We were meant to be ? So does that means I was promised to him as soon as I was born ? Too many things happened tonight and I felt like I wouldn’t be able to get any sleep. I will definitely have to have a conversation with my dad tomorrow.
