June’s Full Strawberry Moon

I really need to work harder on keeping up with this Tumblr. ^_^; Here’s a post for June’s Full Strawberry Moon~!

Tonight we honor June's Full Strawberry Moon (also known as Rose Moon in Europe)! Being a Witch, Pagan, and deeply spiritual, I feel very connected to the Moon.

When She is full, it's the time of greatest power. It's time for divination, and protection spells, and if you need some extra power for spells, especially for those that are considered very important, for instance love or healing spells, cast them now. I read that this is also a good time for legal matters, and knowledge, plus lots more.

Tonight, She is in Sagittarius. When Moon is in Sagittarius, it's time for imagination, confidence, adventure, and more.

So, put those two together and you have a very powerful Moon.

In my case, I will be reading my daily tarot in a moment, and will write down some magickal goals here.

Even though we didn't do so because of tonight's Full Moon, Jen and I had a magickal day of our own. We did a little shopping and picked up some plants for our growing magickal space, and faery garden. We got Lavender, which I have wanted for a long time, Salvia and Moss!

My Tarot of The Day is Ten of Swords, Reversed. This tells me that I need to focus on reality, and once again, work steadily on my goals. I can't be afraid to try. If I work hard and plan well, I can succeed. Once again, I am also being told to go deep within.

Tonight’s Goals

Crystal and I are wanderers, our goal is tent living or maybe living in an Airstream, or maybe - our longest goal - living on a sailboat. Actual living.  I've been having a bad day, a head-holding, sobbing, depression and anxiety filled day. So Crystal and I talked, and she cheered me up, and she suggested we have a tent night.

We have a fenced in garden in the backyard, which right now is just dirt because... Utah. That's why. So we set up the tent, moved the fire pit into the garden and will sit out there with the fire, and manga, and journals, and tarot cards and a good board game or a few. I can't wait. Just escaping with her, sitting outside, doing nothing but enjoying the silence and the open space. It's bliss.

44 Days of Witchery ~ Witchy tools: athame?

There’s a fabulous series here on Tumblr called 44 Days of Witchery, and I’m taking part! Outside of being bipolar and having roller coaster moods, my father-in-law had some medical emergencies that kept my mother-in-law, wife and I in and out of the ER and hospital (he’s fine now). So I haven’t done this everyday! But, everything is slowly starting to get back to normal, so here I am!

44 Days of Witchery ~ A myth or story from folklore?

Oh! I love, love, love folklore. Here’s a favorite myth of mine!

The Hulder. Skogsrå.  Ulda.  Huldrekall. Huldra.

Hulders are seductive, beautiful (even if plain) women with either cow tails or fox tails. Like mermaids, they lure men. Some stories include sex, and that the Hulders reward those who pleasure them and punish those who do not. They can be incredibly kind - or vicious. This depends largely on how they are treated. One of my favorite stories goes:

A boy in Tiveden went fishing, but he had no luck. Then he met a beautiful lady, and she was so stunning that he felt he had to catch his breath. But, then he realized who she was, because he could see a fox's tail sticking out below the skirt. As he knew that it was forbidden to comment on the tail to the lady of the forest, if it was not done in the most polite manner, he bowed deeply and said with his softest voice: "Milady, I see that your petticoat shows below your skirt." The lady thanked him gracefully and hid her tail under her skirt, telling the boy to fish on the other side of the lake. That day, the boy had great luck with his fishing and he caught a fish every time he threw out the line. This was the Huldra's recognition of his politeness.

The Conservation Garden Park ~ Picture Post

This morning, my beautiful girl told me that she was taking me somewhere special! So I got ready, and we went out toooo... The Conservation Garden Park! I've never been to a place with so many flowers, bushes and trees and we had such an amazing time. 

 The weather was perfect, warm and with a cool breeze, sunshine and even a sprinkle of rain, and we LOVE rainy weather! Everything smelled SO good too. I found a few perfect spots for outfit pictures, and we plan on going back in Summer and Autumn (at least). I, of course, took a bunch of pictures. I hope you enjoy them~! 44 Days of Witchery ~ What’s Your Witchy Background?

There’s a fabulous series here on Tumblr called 44 Days of Witchery, and I’m taking part! Here’s the first prompt: What’s Your Witchy Background? 

Magickal Girl. Witch. Pagan. Heathen.

I grew up with a passion for crystals, color magick, spirit animals, drawing down the Sun and Moon, and much more - except I didn't realize that they were part of Witchcraft, Paganism and even Shamanism. I just loved them, and did them. I was loosely raised Catholic however our house was filled with the magickal. Catholicism never fit me, but when I first read about (at the time) Wicca, I knew that I didn't only find my religion, but my spirituality and lifestyle as well.

I discovered Wicca in 2003. I remember telling Crystal that I was Wiccan, and she did some research as well, as she was raised Mormon, and her religion didn't fit her either. She found that Wicca did, though and so, we began practicing together.

Over the years, I've found that Paganism fits me more than Wicca does, and so... Paganism is my religion and spirituality, and being a Witch is my lifestyle. I also fall into the category of Heathen, as I worship many of the Norse Gods and connect with Norse spiritual practices.

I can also be considered a(n) Eclectic Witch, since I pick and choose the kind of Witchcraft that fits me. For instance, I am part of / am studying or planning on studying: the Old Ways, Green Witchery and Kitchen Witchery.

As I mentioned, I worship many of the Norse Gods and connect with Norse spiritual practices, and I also worship several Hindu Gods and while I don't practice Hinduism, I do research - a lot. I am also studying shamanism, which is especially important, because of me being a therian. Finally, Crystal and I are studying Shintoism!

Well, now you know more about my Witchy Background. Whether I'm worshiping the Moon, honoring Hel, meditating with crystals, ringing a bell to cleanse negativity, reading tarot (as one of my natural talents is divination) or simply just enjoying my time in nature, I am deeply connected to my religion, spirituality and magickal lifestyle.
