Name: Pesky bee-like projectile
Debut: Plants vs. Zombies 2
Get a load of this thing. A simple, silly little cartoon bee boiled down to its bare essentials. NOT! This is no bee, and you are SILLY if you thought it was. This is a pesky bee-like projectile, and you shall not forget it!
This here is MayBee, one of the many, many premium plants added to PvZ2 over time, and she has nothing at all to do with bees. That name is misleading. I'll let her in-game description speak for itself. "A defensive enchanted projectile plant that captures and shoots pesky bee-like projectiles that target nearby zombies when threatened."
Got it? Because I sure don't. I don't know what's so enchanted about catching bees, but I guess that's the point! Anyone can catch bees with the right equipment. But have you ever caught a pesky bee-like projectile? I know I haven't! You probably have to be pretty enchanted for that. I haven't even ENCOUNTERED any pesky bee-like projectiles in my life... just actual bees and non-pesky bee-like flies... whimper...
Pesky bee-like projectile utterly fascinates me. Yeah, it's not a bee. But WHY isn't it a bee? This would all be so much simpler if it was just a bee! No one would care about the stylization, it's so small anyway! And remember that these things are being CAPTURED. These are not produced by a plant, they are CAPTURED by a plant. They're not vegan. They exist in the world. Like real bees. ALONGSIDE real bees.
See? Real bee! Used to pollinate plants in the Zen Garden. There are real bees around, and frankly it would be disturbing if there were not. Imagine if one of the rules of this world, right there in the lore bible, was "there are no bees". Why would someone want to do that? Even bumble bee? Come on. Bumble bee. Bzzzzzz
This is Beeshooter, from Plants vs. Zombies Adventures, the old Facebook-exclusive game that no longer exists. It's sad for a game to be lost like that, but I think the biggest lost is Beeshooter, for obvious reasons. Beeshooter! Hee hee! What a hoot! I would love for this to be brought back, which honestly COULD happen, if they really wanted to. Or could it?
Beeshooter shoots bees. Not pesky bee-like projectiles! These pesky projectiles are more than just "like" bees. Is this allowed anymore? I wonder if they don't want to depict actual animals being used as weapons, which is why they're either plant-based recreations, or these pesky bee-like projectiles. The zombies can do it because they're the Bad Guys, and that's Bad behavior. Don't throw octopuses at people! It's rude.
So what have we learned about pesky bee-like projectiles? A whole lot of nothing!
Wait I just remembered. The pesky bee-like projectiles can become electrified and take on an Electric Form. Yeah ok. This game is a mess of complexity creep. Maybe they didn't want actual bees being electrocuted?
