Mia Sutton

Mia Rose Sutton is a nineteen year old former Gryffindor, the younger sister of Lucas Sutton who is another Gryffindor alumni, a member of the order of the Phoenix and a self taught musician. Her bubbly and positive persona can be infectious to the right people, or it can be irritating to the wrong.

“Of course I haven’t. I promised you I wouldn’t.” His own eyes darted around nervously, hoping that no one could hear them. “I still think this is a bad idea, Mia. This is really dangerous.” He whispered back still unsure how he felt about being pulled into it all, yet he still wouldn’t have it any other way.

Mia found herself smiling in response to her friend’s statement, eyes softening as she peered toward him. “Thank you..” She spoke softly before catching her bottom lip between her teeth. He was right, she knew that - Lucas had told her countless stories about the dangerous dragons he had encountered at the sanctuary and yet.. Mia still wasn’t frightened. “I know.. But Noah- It’s a dragon.” She whispered, eyes lighting up excitedly as she spoke the word.

Eyebrows raising as his sister entered the room, Lucas quickly moved from his position on the sofa and followed his sister into the other room. The wizard was quite touched by how interested his sister seemed to be in Simon, actually. “Are you sure this isn’t another false alarm?” He said, despite his quick movements. However, almost immediately after he asked the question, the egg itself responded with another movement and the crack down the front of it split off into smaller cracks. “Holy shit.” A smile pulled on the corners of his lips as he said the two words.

As soon as they entered the other room, Mia’s gaze snapped back to where the egg sat on the counter, seeing another crack appear in the egg. “Oh my gosh! Lucas!” She exclaimed, jumping up and down excitably. “I told you! Simon is hatching!” Mia grinned as she slowly took a few steps closer to the egg.

A sigh left the male’s lips as he suppressed the urge to role his eyes at the person opposite him. He shook his head, “No, stop… I’m not Danny, I’m Finn.” He tried to explain to the person that had mistaken him for his twin. It wasn’t surprising, he was always the twin everyone forgot. It was as if no one knew he existed, as if it was just Danny. He didn’t blame the male, sure he was jealous, but it wasn’t Danny’s fault. Maybe it would have all been different if he’d never met the redhead. He would have gone to Hogwarts, he could of had friends and a whole other life. 

Mia blinked quickly as the male spoke then caught her bottom lip between her teeth as her brows furrowed ever-so-slightly. “Crap, sorry.. Danny said he had a twin I just didn’t expect you two to be so... Identical.” The dark haired young woman laughed lightly with a shrug of her shoulders.

“Look I know the last time was a false alarm but Simon definitely just moved again.” Mia spoke quickly as she ran through into the living area. “Come on, come look!” She exclaimed excitably at her brother before bolting back out of the room and to the one that held the egg.

“You haven’t told anyone have you?” Mia asked her friend, catching her bottom lip between her teeth as she peered toward him. “About the egg?” She spoke cautiously, eyes darting around the area.

Noah’s eyes widened as she showed him the egg. “What the hell Mia. Where the heck did you get that from. You shouldn’t have this. It’s dangerous.” He ran a hand through his head trying to think what to do.

“My brother saved him from a sanctuary on his way here, if he hadn’t brought him then this dragon would have died.. There was nothing else he could do..” Mia explained, combing her hand back through her dark hair.

“Mia, you’re making me nervous. What’s going on?” He made sure to keep pace with her as they went. As he followed his free hand moved to his side to make sure his wand was still there, just in case they might need it.

As soon as they reached Mia’s home she bounded toward the door, breaking the contact between her hand and Noah’s. “So my brother told me that under no circumstances was I supposed to tell anyone but, I’m panicking.” The brunette spoke quickly then ran into the kitchen, picking up the large, speckled dragon egg that was now ladened with a large crack down the center. “Simon the egg is about to hatch and Lucas is no where to be seen and I don’t know what to do.” She turned to face Noah, showing him the egg.

Noah couldn’t help but be nervous at her words and the vagueness of it all, after all he’d been apart of her plans before. “Can I ask what it is before I agree to it?”

Mia quickly shook her head in response and continued to drag the male to the house. “No, no.. Not here.” She quickened her pace to a jog, dragging Noah along behind her. “It’s not safe.” Mia told him.

“So there’s something I need your help with but you absolutely can’t tell anyone.” Mia spoke quickly as she dragged her best friend toward the home she shared with her older brother and his best friend.

“Hey, I take offence to that. I managed to hold my own.” He frowned, thinking that considering her didn’t like fighting that he’d done a lot better than he thought he would. After all he was still alive. “They got hold of my wand. Had to think of another way.”

“I mean I’m not saying I don’t believe you... But I don’t believe you.” Mia snickered to herself before making her way closer to her friend and plopping down in the seat beside him. “All joking aside.. Are you alright? I mean.. I was, kind of, worried about you..” She quickly ran a hand back through her hair, nibbling on her bottom lip as she peered over to her friend.

Lucas was stood in the kitchen, listening to the water in the kettle slowly boil as he examined Simon the egg. It was only a matter of time before they would have a wonderful baby dragon on their hands. That might be a little more difficult to take care of, Lucas was realising, during the wars – with the constant raids of the town. Still, he and Eli had done a decent job so far. Hearing footsteps from the door, he turned his gaze to the entry way. There stood his little sister. He straightened up and a sigh of relief passed through his lips. He had been out all night and all through the morning surveying the area. He hadn’t even been to sleep yet. He was glad to finally have some time off, and that his worry could be calmed. “Fuck Mia. Don’t do that again –” Lucas sighed and stepped forward, pulling his sister into a hug. “If something like that ever happens again, I want you to stay here.”

Mia didn’t quite remember where she had ended up during the attack. She only remembered that as soon as it begun, she had chosen to hide where he was in the bar, instead of running to hide at home. Perhaps it had been a stupid choice, though she had managed to remain safe and unharmed - there wasn’t an issue on her end though she knew as soon as she got back to the house, Lucas would be there waiting for her to give her the biggest dose of tough love. Mia quickly disappeared through the door and made her way to the stairs, hoping to dash straight up them and out of sight. Though, she didn’t manage to get very far - she could almost feel his gaze burning into her skin. Turning her head to the side, Mia offered her brother a small, awkward smile. “Hey Lucas..” She spoke, her voice laced with the same awkwardness. As she wa pulled into a hug, a frown crossed the young girl’s face, though she let out a deep breath and relaxed into the hug, feeling safe at last. “I know, I’m sorry. I just figured, staying put was a better idea than running back here.” Mia explained as she stepped back from the hug. “How’s Simon doing?” She asked, changing the subject.

Noah had seen her first enter the room when the chaos began but hadn’t been able to get to her straight away to make sure she was okay, instead he got stuck trying to help the wounded but also fight off any oncoming spells aimed his way. Ducking behind fallen bits of rumble he slowly edged closer to the bar trying his hardest to get to her without drawing attention to either of them and risk putting her in danger. “Mia?” He whispered loudly making sure it was only anyone in that room who could hear.

Slowly removing her hands from her ears, Mia then tugged her knees up to her chest, cradling them in her arms as she placed her chin between them. Her heart rate increased as she heard the door open, signalling the entrance of another. Shuffling back, the young woman placed her back against the wall and held her breath, not wanting to alert the person to her presence. As the familiar voice drifted through the room, Mia exhaled deeply and crawled out from beneath the booth, peering over at the male whom she called her best friend. “Thank Merlin you’re alright.” She grinned as she jumped up and jogged over to him, tugging him into a hug.

Mia had no idea how she had managed to get sorted into Gryffindor, she'd recently noticed that she really wasn’t all the brave. Which explained why she was currently crouched beneath the table in one of the booths in the bar, making herself look as small as possible in hope of blending in. Her hands covered her ears, trying to block out the noise of the screams of terror that broke through the town outside. The dark haired young woman peeked out from beneath the table uneasily, her gaze moving around the area before she dipped back under as she heard movement elsewhere in the building.
