I know Far Cry is reasonably popular on Tumblr these days and folks are excited for Far Cry 6, but with it being extremely obvious that the game is "based" on Cuba and Giancarlo Esposito (who just fyi isn't Latino at all lmao his dad is Italian and he was born in Copenhagen) outright admitting the main bad guy is based on Fidel Castro, casual reminder that if you live in America/the West basically everything you've been taught about Cuba and its revolution is false, that Cuba is has been suffocating under hundreds of U.S. sanctions for literally over 60 years, including during the COVID-19 pandemic which has prevented Cuba from developing its own vaccines, and that video game developers actively work with the Pentagon and the CIA to craft pro-regime change narratives. None of this means that you need to not play the game or stop participating in the fandom, just that you should be aware of the imperialist misconceptions and possibly intentional propaganda that will be inevitably baked into the game.

I think that single player video games should have cheat codes and debug consoles by default again. there's absolutely no reason cheating at single player games should be frowned upon. I can have little a cheating. as a treat

happy pride month! you might recognize me from this post i made on antiblackness. this black bisexual has been having a really awful couple of years and could really need the help getting back on track.

i have been food and housing insecure for almost two years now. i was recently diagnosed with pcos and adhd (both co-morbid other preexisting conditions) and i’ve been struggling with improving my health. i’ve been in and out of doctor’s offices and swamped with bills. sometimes i go days eating only low-nutrion dry food because it is cheap. i’m taking a lot of different medications and the side effects have been hell to deal with. my dad has been in the hospital for months and i’m constantly worrying about him. because of all of these things, i fell seriously behind in school and i’d like time to take a break and reflect on if i want to continue or search for other opportunities. if i cant find a roommate and work here, the only option i have to return to my abusive family several thousand miles away, and that would be extremely unhealthy for me. i do not have a lot of time left to get ready, i’ve had a bitterly unsuccessful job search thus far, and i’m starting to feel defeated. i’ve made a couple of posts recently that die out after a few months of circulation, and i’m going through so much that i decided to just separate my most pressing needs so i dont have multiple reblogs making this post super long.

i made two money pools on paypal for help with saving for an apartment and paying off my dental bills, and i’m going to leave other sharing platforms for anyone who feels like giving directly to me–those funds will go towards groceries and transportation. any amount helps, and an abundance of notes does not mean that my goals have been met.

I'm not even that into sony/playstation. I'm not even sure if i wanted to play starfield, we've just straight up not seen enough to decide.

I just think console exclusivity in general, especially for games like these is harmful for the industry and not good for the individual games' possible sales numbers and cultural impact.

That in mind, the excitement they showed in the announement of the exclusivity was just straight up pissing me off.
