The faire folk, the fae, faeries—the creatures who live within Lira Forest have been called many things in the legends that have circulated for centuries in the country of Avaleen. But as far as the humans of Avaleen are concerned, these are just the stories their parents told them as children to scare them out of daring to venture into the woods. Most could never imagine the fantastical beings that live just miles from human territory or the vicious war that has waged on between the two faerie courts for centuries.
The Faire Folk is a literate, 16+, dark, medieval, faerie roleplay, based off of faerie lore. It has frequent prompts and events to aid in character development.

Welcome to my second weekly series "The Admin How-To" where I'll be addressing the dos and don'ts of running your own RP. Just like with my Writing Workshop, feel free to send in topic suggestions to my askbox. This week, I'll be going over sending out promotions, asking for shoutouts, and other requests. It may be sort of basic, but it can be important.
Now addressing the art of shoutout requests, uniqueness is key! I will often times add a group to my favorites list if I like their request alone. For example, there was a Disney RP floating around that had re-worded the lyrics of the first few bars of "Be Our Guest" to fit their group and it was adorable. Something that's cute and will stand out among rows and rows of various shout-outs can definitely help you out. And while you don't want to come off as stuffy or pretentious, being too laid back can be equally as harmful. Be professional, while role playing is fun, as an admin you are an authority figure of sorts, and should give off that vibe. As I've said time after time after time, I use pet-names more than I probably should, but in requests or in a shoutout, it can come off as childish.
Personally, I recommend typing up a standard shoutout request that falls within the Tumblr askbox character limit (160, I believe off the top of my head), and copy and paste it into the askboxes of as many RPHs (that accept shoutouts, of course - always read their What I Dos first) as you possibly can. Keep in mind Tumblr has an ask limit, and you may need to break it up over a few hours to be able. Also, keep a list of who you have sent requests to so you don't double-up.
Advertising with RPHs and RPCs is really actually quite simple, and asking for requests isn't as intimidating as you may think. The most important things to keep in mind are: be polite and nice, be professional, and just remember we are not lords of the role playing world, we're just people like you! And often times, we're looking for traffic to our accounts as well. Good luck!

I'll just be sitting here working on my RP if anyone needs help of any kind. Also, I am now doing theme makeovers, so feel free to send me an ask for that if you're looking for one. I'll probably only be doing a couple at a time, but we can cross that bridge when we get there. Anyways, if you need something, I'll be here.
Remember all those cheesy Disney movies? The ones that swear your prince charming will come? Located in the heart of Philadelphia, Lovers Park is a small suburb that’s said to be absolutely magical. Day after day, two people met near the fountain in the park, without planning or realizing it. They didn’t even know each other. Yet they sat on the same bench, ate the same lunch, and felt a compelling connection to one another. Then on the one month anniversary of the meet up, the boy grabbed the girls hand and they kissed. One month later they were engaged. Two months and they were married. Three and they had children on the way. On the sixth month they moved away. They were divorced, and their children were split up. It seemed as if the park wasn’t so magical after that…
Either way, Adele and John started something that they weren’t aware of. Rumors swirled about the town, whispering and talking about the love that the two unlikely companions had found. Girls who had been hoping for a romance flocked to the fountain in droves, searching for their own prince charming. Over half of them found it, and were married within a few months, not thinking of what could happen because of the rushed relationship. No one wanted to think of the consequences—they were invincible with the magic that surrounded the fountain. The rumors spread wider, bringing more people into the park, and a boom in population as desperate lovers begged for love to choose them next.
Then the charade came tumbling down once the news of Adele and John’s divorce reached their ears. They hid away as Adele moved back in with her children, setting back down into the home that she had once called Lovers Park. But there was a different air now—everyone knew their relationship was like a ticking time bomb, and no one knew how to save it or make it last. More and more relationships began to fail, falling one by one behind the path that Adele and John had created.
But rumors, whether they’re true or false, create publicity and attraction. Lovers Park has flyers everywhere, still trying to draw the people into their myth. And so far? It’s worked.

Who could be an older Kaya Scodelairo or her mother? Her mother is supposed to be a spitting image of her. Young-ish. She had her around the age of 19. Father is Bradley Cooper.
Oh, that's tough. There are a ton of actresses that look like her, such as Willa Holland and Emma Stone for example, but they're so young. Charlize Theron looks somewhat similar, however she's blonde and honestly has too round of a face. And while I know Alexandra Daddario is pretty young, she could come off as old and really is 27. Jessica Biel isn't necessarily a splitting image, but she did play Kaya's mom in a movie once.
I hope this works, I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
So it took me all about six seconds to realize from your URL that one of my good friends was actually in this RP, or at least technically, she was apart of the first generation before you re-did it and it looks like you did a great job. I like your theme, as I'm a sucker for top bars, but personally I'd change it around where the main color would be blue with a white accent, simply because I don't like that much white, but it does go with your school colors, and isn't monochromatic so really I have to say I'm a happy camper with it. Also I love your full navigation. It's so neat and clean and easy to work with and I'm just actually giddy with how it looks so great job.
Plot - 5/5
I will admit I judged your group. Upon a glance over of your sidebar description, I thought "great, another high school RP" but oh my goodness was I wrong. Upon reading your extended plot I have to say you've really thought things through. I really like how you didn't just go with the typical Gossip Girl rip off, but almost went with a Magic Anon theme, if that makes sense. Either way, I'd have to say that it's a very dynamic plot, yet without being too confusing, and really I think it's great.
Bios & Graphics - 4/5
I love your bios, however I do think they're a tad long to really hold the interest of a potential RPer. In my opinion I think you run the risk of them not fully understanding the character because they quite reading part way through, but that's just the social media analyst coming out. Although, it's rather confusing how clicking on your characters takes you to a whole separate blog. Because it's the same theme and overall setup, it can really confuse people, particularly if they aren't really familiar with Tumblr and RP accounts. But, I really like your graphics, and how they're not overly complicated. In fact, I'm getting that the whole motif of your group is simple yet elegant, which I absolutely adore.
Rules & Application - 3/5
Your rules and application are somewhat standard, and while I am indeed a stickler for literacy myself, everyone makes mistakes, and a grammar test may be a tad overkill, but that's just me. I believe role plays should be for learning and bettering your writing abilities. Sure, I hate the prospect of having an RP partner who tyyps leik diss, but I can't tell you how awful a writer was when I started out, and had an admin had a grammar test on their application, I may not have ever learned better or gotten into role playing... but that's just my two cents.
Overall - 9/10
I really do think you've done a wonderful job with this group, and as far as I'm concerned you really do get an A+. You've put time into what deserves it (such as the plot, rules, navigation, and bios), and left less important things to be spoken for by what matters (graphics and theme work). It's classy and eloquent, and simple in the best way. I think you have a great, active group on your hands, and I wish you the best of luck when it comes to going through in the future.
Hello love! We are a new OC RP loosely based on the show The Fosters. Almost all face claims are open, aside from Dylan O'Brien and Troian Bellisario. Could we get a shout out? Thank you!
Why it is one of the most detrimental things you can do
Now that I've insulted nearly everyone in the RP community, let me get started.
Role plays are not diverse anymore. They all have different varieties of the same six plots, have one of maybe eight themes that are currently popular, and are almost undeniably an OC group. It's like, as admins, we're so hung up on keeping up with the Joneses and making sure we're following all the newest RP trends that we forget entirely about individuality. We don't realize that these groups can be unique. And if we do dare to step outside the bounds of what's considered a "good RP", we're shot down my RPHs and RPCs, saying that it looks ugly and we should find a graphics admin to make it look like everyone elses. Well I'm here to tell you to fuck them, and anyone else who says your group should aesthetically follow a certain trend. Because frankly I am sick and tired of this goddamn monochrome bullshit. I mean who had that idea anyway?! It's dumb, and I wish we'd quit it.
To be quite frank I have not seen a group around in so long that's been up and running and active for more than six months. Hell, six months is considered ancient now days and that astounds me. I know I sit here and tell y'all all the time about how I wish things could go back to the way they were, but role plays just don't seem to last like they used to, and personally I believe that's because they're all pretty much the same.
There are fandom RPs, celebrity RPs, high school RPs, travel RPs, small town RPs, supernatural/fantasy RPs, historical RPs, and crossover RPs out the ass, but yet I haven't really come across a group in over a year that doesn't fall into one of those groups. This is why, I think, that independent RPing is so damn popular. I mean hell, if I wasn't so socially awkward and afraid to actually interact with someone when not in a group, I would probably join right on in.
I'm not saying these groups are necessarily bad, because that's judgmental, I just feel we should try and think outside the box, both with our plots and the way our blogs look. These groups don't all have to be the same!!! Diversification really is a good thing people, don't just follow the masses! Because if there are hollywood RPs out there for a dime a dozen, what is going to set yours apart and make people want to join yours instead of the other guy's? What is going to make someone want to send in an app for your group instead of someone with similar graphics, a cut-and-paste identical theme, and the same FCs up for grabs? If yours looks different, with an actual color scheme rather than just different shades of the same color to make it appear colored when in reality it's not, maybe someone will stay to look around and apply. Even if your plot is SO original, no other RP in the history of RPs have ever used it, if you look like every other fucking group on Tumblr, it's not going to matter, because no one is going to read your plot, they're just going to think your group is like all the others.
I've spent years in the beauty pageant circuit, and honestly, it's a similar situation to role plays. Pageants are won in interview, it's a fact, just like role plays are made to be great by their plot. However, if a contestant doesn't look the part, they won't win. If they look just like everyone else up on that stage, not standing out at all, the judge's won't pick them thinking "oh, wow, they look so cookie cutter, they must be the absolute best". Fuck. No. They'll pick the girl that stands out, just like that potential role player deciding between applying for your group and that other one will pick the one that stands out. Both in the plot, and on the screen.
So please, for the love of all that is good, do NOT make your RP look like all the rest just because you want to fit in. Individuality is good, standing out is awesome, and giving your group a look all it's own could be the difference between success and just becoming another failed role play.
