Cannon Scanners: The Ways You Can Use and Help
We use the latest generation of microfilm scanners to dematerialize microfilm of all types, including 16mm and 35mm reels, ANSI C cassettes, positive or negative polarity, silver / vesicular / diazo salt films, simplex / duplex, COM, portrait (cinema), landscape (comic), etc. Most microfilm scanners try to capture individual frames during scanning. But if the film is not consistent, which is often the case, they may miss views. Our microfilm scanners scan the entire reel, including the areas between views. We can then review the results interactively, in order to manually capture the views that would not have been taken into account. We also adjust the image quality to compensate for changes in density that occur over the reel.
We also use our proprietary technology, Scan Factory Resource Planning (SRP) , to control, streamline and automate all of our A&Z scanning activities. The SRP system has been fully developed in-house by our specialist staff. Its main objective is to reduce human intervention to a minimum and to eliminate the risk of human error. Customer Portal
The Customer Portal allows you to search and view the status of any microfilm processed by Scan Factory, at any time (e.g. 'in transit', 'in the process of scanning', etc.). The Portal also makes it possible to transmit requests for digitization in emergency or to proceed urgently to the physical delivery of a given microfilm, as well as to view the complete history of such requests. All information and metadata about your microfilm, including its exact physical location, is stored in the SRP database and can be retrieved on request.

Microfilm conversion is a multi-step process.
Selection of a sample of coils
The process begins with the selection of a sample of coils, which we inspect and digitize a small number of views in order to properly calibrate the equipment and define optimal settings that will produce the best possible images. The settings are saved in a template before starting the total production.
