Yandere Batfamily x Neglected & "Immortal" Reader 》 VI
Part I Part II Part III Part IV Part V 𓆩♡𓆪
Gosh. This took a lot longer to make than I thought XD Honestly, the entire Batfamily is fun and all but I feel guilt about not truly knowing anything. I think I know the batboys but it's all influenced by fanon- Because of this and because I genuinely got interested in Batman, I started to read some comics and such. But there's also so much with each writer having their own take on characters and story arcs-
I have, unfortunately, fallen out of the DC fandom. I do still like the Batfamily but my interest has still weaken. Now that this last part is out, I likely won't share any more stuff on the Bats. There are things I left out in the story that may be confusing, so if you have any questions I will try answering them. Also, because I just wanted to get this final part, things may be a bit messy XP Did my best to keep everything consistent but I just wanted to finish this---

The first thing your brain registers is the soft cushion that wraps around you almost completely. Feeling the smooth and warm fabric could make you fall into unconsciousness again and never wake up. Until your stomach makes a loud grumbling for food. The empty feeling just gets worse as the smell of delicious food reaches your senses. You’re so hungry but also too exhausted to even open your eyes. Instead of figuring out where the smell is coming from or where you even are, you turn your face to the side to push against the pillow under your head. As if the action will help you lessen your need for nutrients.
The only thing to pull you out of your tired state is the sound of a bell ringing a bit away from you. Caught off guard, you immediately sit up with eyes completely open. It really shouldn’t have surprised you as much as it did but you really weren’t expecting it. Finally taking in your surroundings, you’re in a familiar room with an even more familiar butler. “Good evening, Master ___. I hope I’ve brought enough to satisfy your system” Too overwhelmed to even question anything, your eyes follow Alfred as he opens up a bed tray in front of you and places three full plates. Eager to just get anything in your body, you immediately dig in once the elderly provide the necessary utensils.
Once you were done eating, your brain began to fully register the things around you. You're in the little Doctor’s Office in Wayne Manor. At least, that’s what you’ve called it all your life. Just a place where you’re guaranteed to find some bandaids or medicine. Though, you can’t even remember the last time you were here. Was there always this large bed in here? As you rest your back against the raised mattress (Alfred probably raised it while you were eating), the butler neatly organizes the dirty dishes and puts away the bed tray. You try to help a little but tiredness settles in again. The only energy you have is used to thank Alfred for the food. It’s only when he’s about to leave that you realize that you’re missing a chance to speak to the man. You’ve been so focused on yourself that you didn’t even question or get answers from Alfred. But yet again, you couldn’t even think properly until you got enough food in your stomach.
You’re just about to call the butler’s name when the main door is opened by another individual. It was Damian. The sight of him makes you clench your fists in annoyance. Also make you completely lose the opportunity to speak to Alfred because your focus is now on the boy who walks to your bedside. As Damian gets closer, you instinctively scoot away a little. He doesn't say anything about your action but he does narrow his eyes a little.
The room is filled with silence until you decide to break it. “What do you want?” “What did you think you were doing back there? If you were thinking at all” Damian truly hasn’t changed. Always finding something to argue with you. The main difference now is that you’re more willing to hold your ground “Would you rather be dead?” “You died” “Yet I’m still here” The two of you continue to argue back and forth. It seems that Damian was having enough though when he slams a fist on the table next to you. “You were reckless out there. Powers or not, you’ve proven again and again that you're not fit to take care of yourself. This is the third time you've been reported dead and it will be the last. Do as you’re told and stay out of the trouble”
His words stuns you for a second. There's so much you wanna say but it all clogs in your throat. By the time you come up with a rebuttal, Damian has turned his back to you and walks to the main door. He does look at you one final time before leaving though. "You're expected to stay here until you've completely recovered. Don't make more of a mess than you've already have" And with that, Damian exits the room before closing the door behind him. To release the leftover anger you felt inside, you pick up the closest pillow to scream into.

Not long after Damian left, the rest of your ‘siblings’ came in to check on you. Dick wraps you in a tight hug as he cries about your most recent 'injury', Jason scolds you while giving you a bag of extra snacks, and Tim checks out some computer that's on the other end of the room. Once the eldest finally gives you some space, you attempt to get off the bed. You push the blanket to the side and reposition your legs to the side of the large bed. Apparently this was the wrong thing to do because Jason catches your legs and forces you to remain on the bed. "You need to rest more" "I'm fine. You know that this isn't the first time I've died"
Dick seems to notice your anger rising and tries to lighten things. "Yes, but- Your body doesn’t just completely heal itself when you wake up" He explains. "It’s only healed enough for you to gain consciousness. So you’ll need to wait a little while longer before you’re in top condition" For a second, you almost agreed with Dick. Maybe you should rest. But then you immediately remember how you spent the last couple of days in Blüdhavemc "Technically, I've been resting for the past week or so already. What else would I be doing when I could do nothing but stay at your apartment?" "That was before you got yourself killed again" Jason says. Also immediately receiving a glare from you.
"And? I should be able to walk around at least" Dick lets out a lighthearted laugh and pushes his hair back. "True. But Alfred probably won't be happy to see you moving around too much" Just hearing the butler's name makes you consider backing down. He has to be the most normal one out of your entire family, right? You barely got a word with him but you just can't imagine him being as odd as your ‘brothers’. These thoughts could also just be because you dislike him the least out of everyone in the family.
Letting out a sigh, you rest your chin in one palm as you resign to an unknown amount of time in bedrest. "How long do I have to be here?" "At least a week" Tim finally finished doing whatever at the computer and joined his siblings at your bedside. "Can I at least have my phone or laptop?" At your request, Tim takes out a familiar rectangular device out of his pocket and holds it out to you "Finally-" Before you can take it, your phone is pulled away slightly as Tim decides that now is a good time to mess with you. "I think you're forgetting something~" "And I think you're several days behind on a promise that got me into this mess"
The irritation in your voice has Dick trying to intervene again. But this time, it just makes you more annoyed. "Come on, let’s not get started. They’ve already had a rough time, Tim, just give them their phone" Tim seems to ignore Dick’s words and continues to poke at you. "I just want to hear them say one thing" "I'm not saying please" "And I don't mind holding your phone a little longer" The smugness in Tim's words and his face just makes you wanna punch him. You definitely would but you won't want to risk them male dropping your phone. "Please, give me my fucking phone" "Hm, I'll take it"
Taking your phone, you're welcomed with a familiar lock screen. Your eyes immediately look up at the date and notice how your midterms are this week. Well, not anymore when you were forced to drop out. You've considered taking online classes for your degree at least but decided that you'll wait a bit. Also because you don't have your laptop to do any work on.
As you're trying to remember what your phone password is, a thought just came to your mind "What happened to all my stuff?" You look up at the individuals at your bedside as you wait for an answer. "Your room" Jason says. "Can't I rest in my room? So I can have all of my stuff" Before Jason can answer, Dick jumps in. "Well, we thought it’d be fun to give your room a little make over! Add a little more flair and some love from your dear brothers" This news immediately makes you tense up. It probably shouldn't be a big deal but you really don't want your ‘siblings’ setting up your room.
"What's wrong with my current setup? Just leave my stuff in my room and that'll be it" "We could. But what’s the fun in that?” Dick bright smile as he talks really gets on your nerves, but can you be surprised anymore? Everything related to your 'family' just makes you annoyed all the time. "I was only away for a couple of months. There's no need for some 'Welcome Home' party" "We just want you to feel more comfortable" Tim is the one to answer you this time. Seeing how there wasn't a way to change your 'brothers'' minds, you let out a sigh and lay back on the bed.

Time spent in the ‘doctor’s office’ is as boring as your time at Dick’s apartment. Alfred will come with meals and one of your older ‘siblings’ will sometimes stop by. You’re getting more acknowledgement than the past couple of years you spent in the mansion. But something about the attention is a little unnerving. Probably because you’re only receiving it when you’ve long given up on the people in this house. Besides Alfred, the only thing that hasn’t changed is the lack of your younger ‘brother’ and ‘father’.
When you’re alone, you slip out of the bed to get some much needed stretches. It’s a little difficult to know when it’s safe to get up when your older ‘siblings’ no longer come at consistent times. The only one who comes at set times is Alfred. Not wanting to risk being caught not resting, you spend most days just laying in bed and scrolling on your phone. You did try contacting your old school friends but your phone always goes straight to voicemail. But it can’t be helped, they likely are busy with their own college classes.
About a week goes by before you’re told your body has healed enough to be off bedrest and that your new room was ready for you. While you weren’t excited to see how your room looked, you were happy to finally walk around freely. Your older ‘brothers’ were basically glued to you during the 5 minute walk from the ‘doctor’s office’ to your room, but you can’t muster up the energy to care anymore. You just let out a sigh before opening the door to your newly decorated bedroom.
The sight before you immediately makes you uneasy. Sure they were going to give your room a makeover but you didn’t expect them to take it this far- Newly painted walls, brand new furniture, decorations, etc. You can’t even find your actual belongings when doing a quick scan of the room. Based on the sound of Dick’s laughter behind you, he must have taken your disturbed silence as amazement because he wraps around your shoulder with a smile. “Looks great, right? It was my idea to add the posters”
Not only do you feel more uncomfortable than you thought possible, your ‘siblings’ decided to help you settle in. They basically chatted with each other while you sunk into the mattress of your new bed. Having family around would help a person be comfortable in a new space, but you’d rather sleep outside if you’re being honest. The only time you join your ‘brothers’ chatter is to express your annoyance with all of them. You’re only able to escape the situation when Alfred stops by to announce that dinner is ready.

As you walked to the dining room, you tried to remind yourself why you’re in this situation. Your mom needs you. This family of vigilantes are supposed to help you get her back. Vigilantes that want nothing more than to annoy the hell out of you, honestly. Barely giving you time for yourself, removing the one place you found comfort in this manor, etc. But you have no choice but to deal with them until you save your mom.
The dining room seems to already have some people by the time you (and your ‘brothers’’) reach it. Bruce and Damian sit near the end of the table, looking up a little when your party of 4 arrives. The older siblings continue to talk with each other as they settle down but you remain silent. You sit down in a random spot at the table. With how all the plates are next to each other, forcing everyone to sit together, you specifically position yourself to be one space away from the family and pull a plate towards yourself.
While you’ve gained more confidence since the last time you were in this house, no longer locking yourself in your room and needing Alfred for help, but stepping into the dining room suddenly made you feel like you're a little kid again. What can possibly make you feel this way? You’ve been eating Alfred’s food and dealing with your older ‘siblings’ for several days, they can’t be the reason. Sure, you haven’t been in the room in a while(Probably been longer than you think. Especially since you used to always just eat food in your room or not at all) but you can’t imagine why it’d make you feel so unsettled. You’ve stood up to Damian and your desire to stop him from pushing you around still exists, you can’t just suddenly be scared of him now.
That leaves Bruce. But what about him makes you feel so uneasy? Is it because you now know that he’s supposed to be Batman? The big scary vigilante that has sent criminals running with their tail between their legs. But how can that scare you when everyone at this table (besides you) is a vigilante. Is there something about Bruce Wayne to be scared of? Maybe scary to know that this man left one of his kids to die……Left you to die……Even as the city's greatest ‘hero’, he couldn’t save you to save his life……Not even one of his partners either…Wouldn’t that be a funny reason to be scared? /j /j
“____” You’re suddenly snapped out of your thoughts. Just now realizing that you’ve just been staring at your plate and idly moving your silverware as you were lost in thought. Looking towards the person who called your name, your eyes land on Bruce. Seeing that you finally acknowledge him, your ‘father’ continues, “How have you settled in?” Hearing those words brings you back to when you were first brought to the manner. A time in which you don’t recall Bruce ever asking if you had gotten comfortable with your new life. You want to throw this fact in the man’s face but it refuses to come out. “..Fine”
Dinner sort of continues like this. Your ‘family’ would try getting you to say more than a couple of words but you refuse to entertain them. It doesn’t stop you thinking about it though. Thinking about how good it’d feel to put everyone in this room down and make them feel as miserable as you did when living in this manor. But none of these thoughts ever escape your mind.
When everyone begins to finish eating, you suddenly remember something. Now is probably your only opportunity to ask about the plan to save your mother. Every time you asked your older ‘brothers’, they’d either brush it off or tell you to ask Bruce himself. No way are you going to go look for him after dinner to ask. You’d only be around Bruce if you have to. “....Hey Bruce” There is a small pause the moment you speak up, as if everyone is surprised that you actually want to talk with them.
“What’s the plan to get my mom?” The casual atmosphere in the room seems to turn more serious. All eyes are on Bruce as he begins to figure out the proper answer to give you. “We’re still doing research on the laboratory group. They have various facilities around the world, it’d be difficult to track down which one specifically holds your mother” You want to complain that he should have already gotten enough research while you were housebound at Dick’s and bedridden in the manor, but you continue to hold it in. “Do you have any useful leads?” “We have a lead for one of their suppliers. Plan is investigate their new shipment that is scheduled later this week”
This perks your interest. Wow, maybe Batman is actually doing his job and actually helping you get your mother. And since this plan seems to just be to gather information, it should be relatively safe, right? “....Can I come with-” “No” Bruce is quick to shut down your request before you finish making it. You’re left a little stun but quickly snap yourself out of it. “But you’re just there to-” “No” You continue to try convincing the man but he refuses to let you get a single sentence out.
As you two go back-and-forth (if you’d call it that), your frustration for Bruce builds up. Staking on all the anger you felt for the other party during the whole dinner. You finally find the strength to speak against Bruce but you get cut off every time. “Why can’t you at least-” “I said no” “That’s not a rea-” “It’s because it’s too dangerous” “But you’re-” “Doesn’t matter. You’re staying home”. At this point, everyone is done eating and just listening to Bruce and you argue. It isn’t until Jason comes over to you and rests a hand on your shoulder do you take a moment to breathe. “Just leave it. Nothing will get through that old man’s thick skull”
After you take a couple of moments to ponder on whether or not it’s worth it to keep arguing, you let out a sigh. Maybe this is why you felt uneasy earlier. Because everything Bruce says, goes. No matter how much you argue against it. Everyone quietly cleans up a little before going their separate ways.

The moment you get to your room, you lay on your bed and scream into your pillow. Only getting up when you hear a knock coming from your door. With a sigh, your legs drag yourself to the door when the knocking doesn’t seem to go away for a couple of minutes. You open the door lazily, expecting to find one of your older ‘siblings’ that wants to spend time with you. However, the person at your door is much shorter than you expected. It takes you a moment to register that Damian has decided to disturb you while carrying a cat… Wait-
The moment your brain processes the small animal in front of you, you instinctively jump and back away. Trying to make some distance between that cat and you. It’s only when your back is against your bed does Damian take a step closer with the feline. You aren’t sure if he is saying anything or silently torturing you but you don’t even care right now. Alfred (the cat) may be small but that doesn’t forgive what he has done to you.
Before Damian was around, there were times you’d sleep in various places around the manor. Sometimes you just weren’t able to entertain yourself throughout the day or work just got too boring, so you’d just take a small nap on a random couch nearby. Too tired to walk all the way back to your room. This left you very exposed when Damian first arrived and wanted to portray his strength. You’d often wake up to one of his animals in the process of biting or scratching at you.
All this (and other threats by Damian) is how you learned to bandage your own injuries and why you stayed locked in your room more often. There were times you tried telling Bruce but he always just had Alfred help you out. The butler was the only one to comfort you as your fear for animals developed. Trying to improve your mood by praising how well your injuries healed each time. Saying something about how healthy you must be while you felt like a dog toy that is one tug away from being destroyed.
Damian did eventually stop the random animal attacks but the damage has already been done. He truly shot down any dream you may have had with owning any sort of pet. Even if you got a little hamster, the memories of Damian’s assortment of animals will forever haunt you.
As you feel your heart beating in your ear, you keep your eyes on the cat as your hands try reaching for something to throw. One of your hands finds a pillow on your bed and you throw it at the feline in Damian’s arms. Your younger ‘brother’ is quick to dodge the cushion and keep the cat protected. This whole time, Alfred (the cat) doesn’t seem bothered at all. Just laying comfortably in Damian’s arms while you feel like you’re gonna have a panic attack.
Whatever possessed the other party to bring his cat to you must have disappeared moments later, because Damian ends up putting the feline down in the hallway before closing the door. With Alfred (the cat) being in another room, you feel yourself beginning to relax. Damian just watches you the whole time. Quietly waiting for your breath even out and for you to be ready to say something.
“....What the FUCK Damian?!” His eyes seem to narrow at you as he crosses his arms but he remains silent. Tired of standing on your own legs, collapse on your bed as you continue to relax. It takes a couple of seconds for Damian to stop standing at the door and approach your bedside. “Damian………What..do you want” You hope he can hear the irritation in your voice. Hope it'd be enough to make Damian to back out of whatever he was planning and leave you alone.
You quietly wait for Damian to comment on how weak you were or turn around and leave. However, he does something worse. “...I wanted you to bond with Alfred (the cat)” This makes you immediately sit up right and look Damian in the eyes. Waiting for him to laugh or say the punchline to whatever joke he’s making. But of course, this isn’t a joke. “You want me to bond with the thing that you told to claw my eyes out??” If he isn’t gonna laugh then you will. Maybe it’s because you’re still shaken up but you can’t help but laugh at how dumb of an idea it would be to make you bond with the animal that caused your fear in them.
“Fuck no-” “____” “Stop” “I believe-” “I’m not bonding with your stupid cat” “Then I’ll get Titus-” “Don’t bring that thing anywhere near me!” “Come down to the farm with me, then. You can meet Batcow-” “Cow?? When the fuck did you get a cow????” “Batcow is friendly and hasn’t caused too much harm-” “Oh my godddd” You picked up a pillow and threw it at Damian again. Instead of dodging it, he catches the cushion before tossing it back onto your bed.
A sound of annoyance escapes you as you lay back on your bed. This back and forth is already giving you a headache. You just got over your frustration from dinner, now it’s all back. Trying to stop your headache from getting worse, you try taking a deep breath before speaking again. “...And why do you want me to bond with your pets?”
“......I think you’ll like them” Every word that leaves Damian’s mouth just makes you want to punch him. If it weren’t for your lack of energy (and the fact Damian can definitely dodge any attack you throw), you’d do whatever you can to get the other party to forget about even thinking about you bonding with his pets. But deep down, it honestly feels helpless. Damian is probably as stubborn as Bruce. Not listening to what you say and just telling you to stay home……
“Hey Damian” Still laying on the bed, you turn your head to look at the other party in the room. It’s hard to read his expression but Damian appears to be listening. “How about a deal?” As you say this, you slowly push yourself up into a sitting position. Make sure to turn so you’re facing Damian as you make a proposal. “I’ll try getting along with your animals if you let me go with you to investigate that shipment later this week”
The room is filled with silence as Damian considers the offer. You aren’t entirely sure what is going on in his head, but if he’s crazy enough to try and stop your fear of animals, maybe he’d be crazy enough to let you join him and the rest of the vigilantes. “...Father said it was too dangerous-” “Yes, but you all will be there to keep things safe. Plus, it’s not like we’ll be doing any fighting-” “There are times where we’re forced to make contact and-” “If that ever happens, I’ll run and find some place to hide” “You didn’t stay hidden when I was taking you back to the manor” “I’ll stay put this time!”
“Look, I just don’t want to sit around while you all save my mom. I want to help too. She’s my mother” Damian takes another moment to consider your offer. Seeing that you may be convincing the other party, you can help continue pushing. “If I get found, I can still defend myself. You saw me when we were coming back to the manor-” “You got impaled in front of me” “What?- Okay, yeah, but look at me now. You got us both out just fine-” “You didn’t wake up for several days” “Really?-” It is a little unnerving knowing that you’ll know about what happens while you’re in a dead state. All you can do is hope nothing bad ever happened.
You can’t help but sigh as you see your younger ‘brother’ be less and less interested in your offer. The only way you can think of to fix this is to bring back your part of the deal. “Just..Please Damian. I’ll go down and see your cow, try not hyperventilating when looking at Alfred (the cat), do whatever with whichever animal you have…It’s just for one night, let me come with you and the others……” Even though you don’t truly know his motive, you’ll do whatever you can to get through to him.
“Fine” Hearing Damian finally agree brings a wave of excitement through you. You’ll leave the stress of meeting his animals for future you to handle. Right now, you just guaranteed yourself a spot in the operation to actually help your mom. No sitting around and waiting for the vigilantes to possibly do nothing. Unfortunately, Damian cuts your happiness short by bringing up his conditions. “We have under a week before that shipment comes to Gotham. Within that time, I’ll be teaching you self-defense techniques every day to decrease the chances of you dying out there” While you’d like to argue, it’s probably a good idea to learn proper self-defense. Also because you don’t want Damian to decline after just accepting the deal.

Time really flies when you’re getting your assed kicked by a child. With how much your muscles ache from being thrown around, Damian has certainly proved himself as Robin to you. He doesn’t go too far but you always end up with more bruises that you’d like. At least you’ve made some progress within the few days you had. Your body’s ability to heal itself quickly really came in handy so you didn’t have to waste a day on a break.
Usually, having a day off of training with Damian would be nice but that meant spending more time with his animals. He is very adamant about you getting along with them. At the end of each session, he’d take you to one of his pets and try to get you comfortable with them. Finding different ways to show how his animals won’t attack as you stand as far away as possible. Even for animals that have never harmed you (Batcow), your mind has a great imagination and can picture yourself being pulled into a false sense of security before being trampled.
Also, strangely enough, your older brothers have actually given you space. They’ve been all over you since you came back to the manor, but now that they see you spending time with Damian, they backed off. You asked Tim about it during lunch once and he said “Just focus on spending time with your little brother” with the dumbest smile. If it weren’t for your deal with Damian, you’d happily ignore him and his animals for the rest of your life. Or just find a way to make him feel the same pain you felt all those years ago. Honestly, you’d love to make everyone in this house feel the same way you did. Lost, broken, alone. Be thrown to the wolves and left to die…
Tonight’s the night Damian is gonna sneak you out of the manor to go with him to find clues about your mom. You’ve planned and practiced this a few times, it’s now time to put it into action. You wore warm and dark clothes, put on the domino mask Damian gave you (If you were found out, at least the enemies won’t know your identity) (Damian said he also stole the mask from). Next, when Robin goes out with the rest of the vigilantes, everyone splits up to get as wide of a view as possible. At this point, Robin will break away from the group to go pick you up.
Everything was going smoothly. Damian kept his end of the deal by coming back to the manor and taking you to his post. Unfortunately, someone was waiting for him there. Yeah, it didn’t take long for Batman to catch you both red-handed. All the effort leading up to this moment was wasted because nothing truly gets past the big vigilante himself. As Batman made a signal to get the Batmobile to drive over and pick you up, your older ‘siblings’ suddenly became supportive of you being there. Don’t exactly know why they’re on your side now when they did nothing when you argued during dinner, but a compromise was finally made. You will stick with Batman the whole night, do as you’re told and don’t argue.
Right now, you sit near the ledge of a building’s roof with Batman kneeling next to you. Below the two of you is the entrance to a warehouse. The vigilante doesn’t bother to tell you anything about what’s going on. Just quietly observing the scene below. You tried asking, he gives you the bare minimum. You can’t tell what’s worse. Having a dad that’s supposed to be dumb and clumsy or a dad that is quiet and strict. If you think about it, you’ve never seen how Bruce acts in public (at least from what you can remember). You only knew that he was some partygoer when you were figuring out Batman’s identity. Reading all those articles that had all the evidence to show how Bruce can never be Batman.
An unknown amount of time passes before there’s any real action. You almost fell asleep before a couple of trucks neared the storehouse. The vehicles position themselves in front of a large garage door, driving inside once some people pulled it open. It honestly surprises you that there were so many trucks. Is this shipment meant to supply all the laboratories in the US?? Or did one laboratory need all these supplies? Not wanting to waste any time, you look up to Batman to see if there’s any plans to move. He answers your silent question by putting a hand on your head and pushing it down gently. This is enough to let you know that you two will be out here for a while.
This mission ended up a lot more boring than you thought. Batman does change your position but you both are still watching from a distance. All those hours spent with Damian working you to the bone and you have nothing to show for it. But that’s probably for the best. If things actually got physical, you likely won’t be able to defend yourself as well as you think you can. Not with the few days of training you got. At least, after this mission, you will no longer try hanging out with Damian’s pets. Not until you want to make another deal with him. But the chances of him sneaking you out and not getting caught is near impossible. Also pretty sure that Batman will not be persuaded again.
You’re suddenly pulled out of your thoughts when the sound of glass breaking reaches your ears. Feeling the tension spreading to everyone that heard it, you quickly look around to find the source. Looking at the man next to you, you see him hold a hand to the side of his face while quietly muttering. Does he have a comm? Wish you could have one so you’d know what’s going on and not just quietly panicking. When Batman finishes talking to whoever, he quickly grabs your arms and pulls you away from the warehouse. Well aren’t you getting déjà vu
“Where are we going??” “You’re going home” “What?!” You don’t know if you should be worried that something bad is happening at the scene or annoyed that he’s just finding an excuse to get rid of you. WOULD BE NICE TO ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON! “No! Wait! What’s really going on over there??” “When being here, you agreed to not argue” “And you agreed to let me stay!” There’s absolutely no way for you to pull against the vigilante to stop pulling you around. Might as well be fighting a brick wall because it’s nearly impossible for you to pry his hand off of you.
It only takes a couple of seconds of being dragged around before you two reach ground level, just in front of the building. Batman allows you a moment to rest while he gets a quick update from the comms. Your ears catch the sounds of gunshots and screams from inside the warehouse. Once your breathing has begun to even out, the Bat is quick to pull you along again. “The Batmobile is on its way here. You’re going to take it and go straight home. Alfred will be there to handle whatever you need, but you are not going back out here” At this point, all you can do is just accept the man’s words. It sucks that this is truly the end of your night, you didn’t get to do anything to help your mom, but you don’t have any other options. It’s either go back to the manor or go back to the manor.
Batman is just about to pull you away again when something suddenly blocks the path. A large boulder appears to have slammed through one of the warehouse’s garage doors and landed just across from you two. Before you can get a good look at what landed in front of you, the vigilante changes his position to block your view. You tried leaning past Batman but he continues to keep you hidden from the individual that is beginning to stand up. All you hear is a deep and strained voice addressing the Bat.
The two exchange a few words, revealing that Bane ( that’s what Batman called him) is here to stop a shipment of drugs that had just been brought into Gotham. You’re fairly certain that this guy is supposed to be one of Gotham’s super-villains but Batman agrees to work with him. Just as the two come to an agreement, the stomping of several footsteps reach all of your ears as people come running through the new hole in the storage facility. Nightwing and Robin arrive quickly after (Red Hood and Red Robin are probably still handling things in the building). With the area now filling up, Batman quickly says something into his comm before someone attempts to attack him.
This really escalated fast with people fighting all around you. With everyone preoccupied, you tried to find a way to escape. There are several alleyways that you can go to but there’s too many people in the way. It also doesn’t help that Batman is someone that everyone wants to target. While you haven’t had to do much fighting with the vigilante on your side, you decide it’s probably best to split up from him. You look around again to see if there is another vigilante nearby that you can side with and is already near a passage way. That’s when your eyes land on Nightwing. If you can get close to where Nightwing is, you can sneak into the backstreet near him with minimal conflicts. You decide that this plan is as good as any and take the first step in separating yourself from Batman.
Breaking away from the Bat has you immediately targeted. All the regret you had for that crash course with Damian in self defense immediately disappears when you’re forced into a fight. If it weren’t for his lessons, you’d probably be knocked out real fast. You aren’t able to throw any strong punches like the other vigilantes but you’re able to stand up for yourself. Which is proven even more by how you’re able to knock out one person. It was a bit of a confidence boost to be honest. Having that one person down helped make some distance between you and the other attackers for you to slip away and continue towards your target.
As you get closer, Nightwing appears to have spotted you. You can’t tell if he connected the dots to your intentions or if it’s the fact you’re alone but the vigilante tries to meet you half way. With escape feeling so close, you end up not noticing the ground rumbling under your feet before being slammed into by a huge muscle man with tubes on his back. You’re able to collect yourself just in time to see the hard ground beneath you and not the person who slams their big fist against your back. The flash of pain spreads through your body fast and it feels like someone just shattered all of your bones. However, the pain seems to go away as your heart pounds faster
You don’t have the strength to move, only able to loosely see what is happening by moving your eyes. Bane towers over you and reaches down for you. However, he seems to stop for a moment. This makes you wonder if your mask broke and Bane can see your face. Before he can continue his action, Batman appears to have thrown himself at Bane and forces him to take a few steps back. You try to take this opportunity to escape but your body refuses to listen. All you can do is just lay flat on the ground as people continue to fight around you. At least no one has stepped or tripped on you.
After a couple of seconds, you hear hurried footsteps approach you and Batman’s voice. You try to respond back to him but you can only get out a few words. Your line of sight begins to change as arms carefully flip and lift you up. Eyes look up to see the Bat yell something out to someone before the background changes. From your angle in the vigilante’s arms, you can assume that you two were able to escape the scene. You’d see this as a moment to relax your heart rate but something new blooms in your system. As the adrenaline from the whole fight disappears, the pain from being punched in the back is starting to reveal itself. The aching feels like an infection that reaches every nerve in your body. Can’t even feel the arms wrapped around you or the seat cushion you’re laid upon. The pain only fades completely when you close your eyes and fall into unconsciousness.

The first thing your brain registers is the soft cushion that wraps around you almost completely. Feeling the smooth and warm fabric could make you fall into unconsciousness again and never wake up. Until the memories of ‘last night’ jolt you awake. You quickly open your eyes to find yourself in a very crowded room (your room to be specific). The moment they recognize that you’re awake, your ‘brothers’ are quick to stand at your bedside. Talking your ear off about all the things you missed out in the last couple of days. Trying to ignore how loud the room suddenly got, your gaze drops down to your arms. Watching as you open and close them. You feel perfectly intact. Like you weren’t just paralyzed outside of a storage facility. Like that night never even happened. And it never will. From here on out, you're almost never alone. Someone is always with you.
Dick has been the clingiest out of everyone. Wherever you go, he’s right at your heel. There are times you’ve tried hiding from Dick so he’d leave you alone, but they never end that well. He once handcuffed one of your hands with his so he wouldn’t lose you. The cuffs were only removed when your wrists began to bruise from trying to take it off for so long. You hated how Dick joked about getting different handcuffs that don't bruise your wrist, as if he’d cuff you both again. You just hope for the day he goes back to Blüdhaven and forgets about the whole idea.
Jason is constantly hovering around you. Acting as if you’ll die the moment he looks away. At least he doesn’t follow you around and just stares like a creep. He does, however, have a new habit of cutting you off from doing whatever task you were planning to do. You once went into the kitchen to make yourself a quick sandwich and Jason shoved you to the side when getting the bread. He jokes about how you’re too short to get the ingredients but you’re pretty sure he thinks you’re incapable of doing anything without hurting yourself. It’s annoying as hell but there’s only so much you can do to this 6ft man.
Tim continues to be his annoying self. Often dragging you off to his room to play some random video game. He does have some pretty good recommendations though. It’s gotten easier to ignore his shenanigans and focus on enjoying a good game. Tim hasn’t completely stopped with his odd comments about the whole family. You always hope that he was just messing with you but he has never lied to you. At least it helps to know what's going on in the family. Know who may be set off by you doing something so you can hide accordingly. He’s also the only one to talk to you about the plans to save your mom.
Damian has not given up in getting you to bond with his animals. It’s terrible and it’s worse when your older ‘siblings’ encourage him. You’ve tried ignoring Damian but that led him to try bringing his animals to you. Jason once spotted Damian, Titus and you in the library. He initially saw Damian with his dog and questioned him. When the boy explained his intentions while pointing at you on the other side of the room (standing on one of the chairs). You could try locking yourself in your room but didn’t want to risk Damian barging in anyway. Also, the lock was removed from your door.
Bruce made it clear that you will never go out on one of their missions again. Every time you go out, you come back to the manor on the verge of death. While you have a great ability to heal yourself, there will be time for when that power grows weak and you truly end up dead. Bruce also refuses to give you any updates about the situation in getting your mom. The few times he does, it’s just a few words with little to no context. You honestly stopped asking Bruce and just went to Tim for info.
Your life really took a turn at the strangest time and in the weirdest way. Just as you’ve given up on your family, they suddenly couldn’t get enough of you. Sometimes, when you’re given time alone, you wonder if things turned out better or worse this way. You aren’t used like a lab rat by your own family. Not forced into being a vigilante. (If you really believe Tim) They're trying to reconnect you with your mother. However, do these points really outweigh the biggest con in this situation? The situation where you’re forced to bond with those you’ve grown to hate. People who had abandoned you since the very beginning.
In the end, it doesn’t matter how nice they are now. They can never undo the pain you went through because they couldn’t acknowledge you until you were gone. Can’t expect you to bond with them during family nights like nothing ever happened. You may act civil around them, but you notice when they stop letting you go out or be alone. Noticing when they ruin every opportunity you try to take so you can have control of your own life. They just say how they want to spend more time with you, but you know where’s more to it than that. No matter what, you refuse to give in and forgive the people who try to brush your history under the rug.
