Well then. To keep Doodel company, we’ve somehow welcomed two more yakmel babies into the household. Yes, somehow. I adore our little ones, truly. For the record, I’m not raising them for meat. Eventually, their wool and milk will ease the workshop’s material supply, sure—but that’s just a practical side benefit. My actual intention is to raise them as mounts and companions.

Honestly, I assumed that arrogant, muscle-headed brute wouldn’t even bother showing up for our animals’ little welcome ritual. And yet—he did come. Somehow.

Pen claimed he was there to “help.” Allegedly. Judging by the way he kept staring at the Yakmilk, I can confidently say that helping was not the main activity happening in his head. He did restrain himself, technically, but the pauses, the thoughtful silence, the very obvious effort to stop his imagination from drifting further—I know that look far too well.

Yukiyo, meanwhile, simply watched him with that indulgent expression that says I know exactly what you’re thinking, and I’m choosing to let it slide. No comment. No intervention. Even a faint smile.

Conclusion: the Yakmilk needs a lock, Pen needs supervision, and I need to pretend I didn’t just witness several extremely unnecessary mental images. Romantic fixation is not only dangerous—it also comes with selective blindness.
