Just go talk to your prof! It's better to know what you "did wrong" than not know what went wrong at all (I know profs who take off points for ridiculous or unspecified things. It's good to know how you can cater to them in the future). It's not weird or overreacting to want to know about your grade! Profs like to know you're involved in the class! (just try not to sound whiny? I completely understand your confusion and how annoyed you feel though! I've been in the exact same situation!)

okay friends i have a question:

so i wrote an exam and i was SURE i did really really well (bc the answers were mostly one word answers for things the professor definitely explained to us and which i’m 100% sure i learned and remembered correctly.)

now we got the results and my mark is worse than i thought (not one “grade-step” worse but more like 4 or 5 steps??) and i thought “huh well maybe those 1 or 2 questions i didnt know how to answer were worth more points than i thought ¯\_(ツ)_/¯” so i asked friends who DEFINITELY knew less than i did (they told me themselves, mind you. this is not me being an asshole with an inflated ego eh) and they all have the same mark as i do??

then i got a bit angry, not bc they shouldnt have an alright result but bc i find this super unfair? and you can basically do nothing about it??

so, next step i wrote an email to my professor asking if he’s got an appointment where you can have a look at the results or if I should just attend his normal office hours for that (over here we dont get the exams handed back to us, but we have the right to at least look at it once the marks are set) and he wrote a weird answer? like ‘well you have the right to do that.’ and now i dont know what to do?? i mean i really like that guy and i dont want to give off bad vibes and look like a spiteful brat but i really dont feel like this grade is right and ughhh what can i doooo

#am i silly to think all this??#i mean other people would still be happy about my mark #but this is definitely worse than i expected??#and i was thinking maybe theres some stupid mistakes like not counting some points or typing the wrong number or somethin #and if i dont ask this never gets resolved and i would always be kinda wary and disappointed??#also i really really dont want him to hate me why does he act so extra #in other courses theres a set date where everyone can attend and have a look at the exams no big deal #but i think he feels kinda personally attacked by me??#ughhhhhhh #someone reassure meeee #mihochatters

a list of things

- I’m studying again (I think i didnt make a proper post abt that yet??)

- it’s communication studies and -more importantly- art history

- neither of them make me want to die on a regular basis yet so i guess thats an improvement to last year hah

- no but honestly, comm. studies is ..... a bit boring and dragging and not really what i /want/ to do but I guess I’ll learn some useful skills there?? at least??

- art history is much better! We learn about one time period per semester which is cool (+ art history methods and a theoretical course about painting and graphics) and I really like them

- however, they’re very heavily based on much reading and if you know me I’m not the biggest reading fan haha

- I learn so so much about architecture as well?? not “just” art but like.. everything made by humans it feels like ahh

- I have to hand in my first... “paper”? by the 15.12. and ugh it’s making me super stressed out all day tbh (I’m already at writing stage, which means all the literature research and working through texts+taking notes stuff is done... sooo I’m alright really)

- BUT past Miho had the glorious idea to put all her other presentations and projects deadlines BEFORE christmas break bc “then i dont have to worry about anything until exams start!!” WELL GUESS WHAT DUMBASS MAYBE YOUR BRAIN DOESNT LIKE THIS STRESS NOW EITHER HUH

- anyways

- although i have looooads of stuff to do and I’m working quite much really, it’s still better than last year so i guess thats great

- i miss doing art very much, i really do. But I cant find the time between working and worrying about work!! I always have my sketchbook with me and sometimes I start new drawings which I’m very happy about but! I just! never finish them! which freaks me out bc by the time I get back to them I dont like them anymore and want to start all over again ughhh

- so i thought the best way to solve this problem is to find an art course at uni! BUT SADLY THE ONLY ONE I CAN ATTEMPT WAS LED BY AN OLD MAN ESPECIALLY FOR THE ART HISTORY INSTITUTE B U T HE RETIRED FUCKING LAST YEAR

- I’m very angry about that bc thats whats really lacking this uni -anything remotely creative- hah

I guess @seekingwonders would be more than happy to post that reading comprehension post when it comes to anons like you. I didnt say anything about animal cruelty, Im aware that its a documentary and thats just fine. They film lions eating other animals too, no reason to be upset.

But, and this is the difference, it’s a very graphic depiction of violence (be it natural or not) and people making it a meme and reblogging the full video tagged ‘lol’ ‘lmao’ or the like shows any and all lack of empathy and yes, is just plain out cruel. It’s not funny when animals die and get hurt, no matter how natural the circumstances.

Lastly, I suppose I’m not the one having to get over myself since, you know, I don’t message people anonymously over the span of several weeks about something that seems oh so trivial and unimportant to me hmm
