The Wedding | Mike & Selene (posting the rest since I have work and Monica has no internet)
Selene couldn’t believe how fast the day had come. She was sitting on the edge of a chair as her girlfriends rushed around, doing all the physical rushing for her. She hadn’t felt this fawned over in ages and she was feeling a little claustrophobic. She stood and a walked past Renee as she gave her a concerned look. She smiled as she passed and she looked out the window, it was nice to have a new sight to see besides the manor grounds. She turned back to the girls and walked over to the dress. Fiona was at her side in a second, pulling it out of the protective case. Selene smiled at her and reached over, pulling the girl into a hug. “Thank you, it really is perfect.” She said with smile and the other girl nodded cheerfully. Selene had already spent so much time with everyone making sure her make up was barely there, but she still looked flawless, and it felt like it had been hours on her hair, getting it in a perfect updo. Selene pulled her bathrobe off, not caring about being in her lingerie as half of them had seen her naked anyways. She pulled the dress up over her hips and turned so Fiona could lace up the back as the other girls all looked at her in awe. Selene felt herself blushing and trying to hide her face a little. Evelyn gave her a reassuring nod and Selene turned to look at herself in the mirror. She smiled a little, she actually felt like a princess. She shook her head down, trying not to cry and Danielle put a hand on her shoulder and Selene smiled at her. There was a knock at the door. “It’s time.” The staff member said.
Mike stood anxiously at the church bouncing on the balls of his feet. Selene had been whisked away from him at the crack of dawn by her girls and he hadn’t seen her since. People were filing into the church, the low hum of voices of their friends and family filling the lighthouse venue. The decorations were soft, simple, and beautiful. He’d have to thank Evelyn and Adam for all their hard work. Later. When his stomach wasn’t in nervous tangles. The string quartet next to him began playing and his eyes snapped to the minister, a surprise from Selene that made his heart melt. Who knew that the guitar player from ZZ Top was an ordained minister? And how did she remember that ZZ Top was his father’s favorite band? He loved this woman more and more every day. The bearded man gave Mike a supportive smile and nodded back to the door. Mike’s eyes cut to where the man was looking. He saw his little sister, his Wendybird walking up the aisle, a wide grin on her face, tossing flower petals as she walked. When she got to the front row of seats, she ran to him, her basket flying behind her. She wrapped her arms around his middle and squeezed, the crowd of people chuckling and ‘aww’ing at the young girl. “I love you, Mikey.” The little girl whispered before her cheeks turned pink and she moved to the spot where she was supposed to stand. He looked back down to see Adam and Renee making their way up the aisle. Mike bit his lip hard and gave his best man a watery smile as the man clapped him supportively on the back. “Stop looking so freaked, man. She’s here and she looks awesome.”Adam whispered in Mike’s ear before moving behind him into his place. He watched as Aiden and Evelyn followed, then Leon and Fiona, then finally Danielle and Maddox. Mike held his breath as he waited for Selene. Then, he saw her. All of his breath left him in a rush and his heart jumped up to his throat. Her hair was perfectly placed up, shining like gold beneath her short veil. Her shoulders, flawless and bare seemed to shine above the strapless dress, fitting her and her personality perfectly. She looked like a princess, like an angel. He was breathless.
Selene watched as all her friends lined up before the aisle in front of her, she could see just about everyone from the manor inside around the corner and Selene could feel nothing but happiness. Her father was beside her all of a sudden and Selene smiled up at him, the butterflies in the stomach intensifying. She was extremely nervous, but she wasn’t even a little bit hesitant. Derrick took her arm and kissed her temple. “You look beautiful, Selene.” He whispered to her and Selene looked up at him to see his eyes watering. Selene moved and hugged him tightly. “Thank you, Daddy.” She said, doing her best not to cry too. This was going to be such an emotional day. She held his arm tightly as he looked at her lovingly. “He’s not going to know what hit him.” Selene scoffed smiling and shaking her head, and looked up at him thankful he was trying to ease the tension she was feeling. Suddenly everyone in front of them was gone, and the music swelled. Her turn. Derrick held her arm tightly, she wasn’t sure if it was because he thought she might trip or turn around, of if he was just trying to make her feel better. She felt a little of all those things. Evelyn’s Christmas present had been a gorgeous gift, but probably not the best thing to wear when you had to make the most important walk of your life. She could hear the ooh’s and aww’s as she turned to step onto the aisle and she couldn’t help but feel special. She looked down at her dress, holding her bouquet tightly in her other hand and looked at her father as she nodded at her. Selene looked away from him and straight forward as they started walking, her eyes meeting Mike’s and she felt herself getting emotional again. She took a deep breath and smiled at him, blushing a little at the way he was looking at her. He looked so handsome and she’d envisioned this moment so many times since he’d asked her to be his. They reached the end of the path and Derrick leaned over and kissed her cheek. “My little moon.” He smiled at her adoringly and Selene smiled back softly as he handed her away. Renee took her bouquet and the two girls shared a quick smile as she turned to Mike. The smile she gave him was one of a kind, this was their moment and Selene was on cloud 9. She reached over taking his hand and squeezing it tightly.
_______________________
Mike found himself breathless at her smile. The minister, Mr. Gibbons (‘Billy’ he told the couple to call him) started speaking, but Mike only half-heard him. His eyes were glued to Selene, his hands gripping hers tightly. The ceremony went on and on and Mike focused on breathing looking into her eyes. It finally got to his turn to say his vows and he cleared his throat nervously, pulling a well-worn piece of paper out of his pocket. He looked down at it, though he had read it so many times, he had the words memorized.
“Selene,
Writing love letters has sort of become our thing. So, I think it’s appropriate that we have ones to read today, to keep with the others in those shoeboxes in our closet.
Dr. Seuss once said that “You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep, because reality is finally better than your dreams.” I don’t think that could be more true when it comes to how I feel about you. The best dreams I could ever imagine are nothing compared to just making coffee and eating cereal with you in the morning. I can’t wait to spend my life with you, start a family with you, spend my life with you. Every single day I get to spend with you is the better than the day before. I hadn’t ever counted on being happy at all, let alone this happy. “
His hand that wasn’t holding the letter was shaking with nerves. He had never been much of a public speaker. He reached out and grabbed Selene’s hand, squeezing tightly and immediately feeling calmer. He finished reading his letter.
“I promise you that I am going to do everything I can to make sure you are happy. You are my number one focus, my world. I’m going to love you and take care of you for as long as I am breathing.
I love you. You are my family. You have been on my mind since the moment we met and you haven’t left it since. I don’t know what God I pleased to have the luck that you chose me, but I’ll thank him every day for bringing you into my life.
Love forever.
Your husband,
Michael”
------------
Selene heard the words Billy was saying, but her eyes never left Mike. Selene squeezed his hand tightly as he announced it was time for the vows. Selene felt like she'd spent ages struggling to get hers down, and she could only hope she could live up to Mike's, which were sure to send her into an early grave of love and sweetness. She watched him, smiling as she could see him becoming nervous. She wanted to reassure him, just to have him talk to her, but he started speaking on his own and she listened.
Selene tipped her head, watching him with complete adoration. She laced her fingers with his as he grabbed her hand, and she gave him and reassuring squeeze. She didn't let go. All Selene wanted to do was just move into his arms and never let go as he finished speaking. She felt herself sniffling and biting down her lip hard, trying not to speak out back to him. Billy thankfully stopped her with his words, and it was now her turn. Selene was comfortable talking in front of people, they could have been anyone, but they were all her friends, and she was comfortable regardless.
"Dearest Michael,
I've never had to read you a letter out loud, and when we agreed to do this aloud, I was worried how silly it might seem, but I think this was the right idea. I know everyone is against the whole marriage at rehab thing, and I'm sure there are people here who think we're crazy, and there is no way we're going to make it. It doesn't matter even the slightest, because with you, I just know. Everything we've been through, you've made me better. The girl I was when I got to Bradford was lost and she had no purpose for even being alive. Thanks to you, I can't wait to get up in the morning and look into your beautiful eyes, even if you hate getting up as early as I do.
I know you've been hurt by the people who you've cared about the most. I promise I will never leave you and I will never hurt you like them. I will be the person you can trust even if everyone else fails you. I promise you can count on me, because I know I can count on you."
Selene felt her own tears falling, getting worked up. She paused to take a deep, shaking breath, the hand clutching the letter in her hand reach up to dap a tear out of her eye so she could continue. This time it was her turn to hold his hand a little tighter.
"No matter what anyone says, no matter who we've been and who we become, I will always love you and will take care of you. Even if we're left with pennies, or we live in the biggest house in the neighborhood. If we end up with 4 kids, or just a hamster, you are, and always will be my family now.
Love always,
Your wife,
Selene.
-----------
Mike bit his lip, his eyes filling. He wouldn’t embarrass himself by crying on his wedding day. He took in a deep breath and used his thump wiping a tear away as it slid down her cheek. He gave her a soft smile as Billy finished out the ceremony. He could hear the words, but, by God, he couldn't process any of it. He could just see her. In front of him, ready to be his wife. He was so excited. Everything around him, Billy, their friends, the room, everything disappeared except for Selene, his angel. She saved him. From so many things. He gave her so much and she had his heart. She had it forever. Rings were exchanged, words were said, and still all he could see was her. He came back to Earth just as Billy was finishing the ceremony. All he needed to hear was "You may now kiss-" and his lips were on hers, gentle, as he pulled her into him. He pulled back, unable to keep the smile from his lips. Their friends, no... their family. Every person at Bradford had become their family, they cheered loudly. Mike led her outside to go to the reception, starting their life together as husband and wife.
To Mike - you are about to marry not only one of the most beautiful women on earth, but also one of the sweetest. Protect her, make her feel special and keep her close. She's a gem. And for the last time, you're a VERY lucky man.
Thanks, Man. I am. I'm lucky to call her my wife and I'll be lucky every day for the rest of my life. I couldn't be happier.

Hey. Groomsmen....
We should probably head to the place/nonchurchy/weddingyplace.... I just got a call from the minister. Let me rephrase this. I just found out who the minister is. I cannot believe Selene. Best. Wedding. Gift. Ever.
Hey, guess what day it is? That's right, mhmmm. I love you :)
I could make some stupid pun about a new Hol(l)iday.... but I'm gonna keep my corny mouth shut :P
ANON
Leave my girl the fuck alone. You got beef with me? Come fucking find me. You don't need to fucking upset her like this. You really think if you kill me she'll be grateful and be with you? I know her better than that. I CARE for her more than that. I love her more than you or anyone else ever will. Leave. Her. Alone. Now. Go away, we've got a wedding to plan.
Time to hang out | Mike and Adam
Adam swallowed back the lump suddenly forming in his throat and just held on. As long as Mike wanted to hug, they would hug. He was suddenly, painfully aware of how much he was going to miss his friend.
Mike's face was firmly placed in Adam's shoulder and he mumbled against the man's shirt. "I suppose it would be pointless to ask you to stay." he mumbled sadly, his arms still tight around Adam. The man was his best friend, and he meant a lot to him. It wouldn't be the same, not being able to see him all the time, him living all the way across the country. The thought left Mike feeling sad and empty.
Dear Mike,
You always think you're not good enough, and I disagree strongly, so here's a list of all the things that are good/I love about you.
I love your eyes, they're the deepest blue I've ever seen. They're beautiful.
Your eyebrows, they're so.. you. No one else could get away with them and still be so fucking attractive.
Your arms.
Your cheekbones.
Your hipbones.
Your ass.
The way when we hug, we fit perfectly together, and you squeeze me just a little bit, and I feel completely safe and at home.
How sweet you are.
How romantic and thoughtful you are.
Your perfect letters, and your messy handwriting that is so you.
Sometimes when you look at me, you don't even need to say anything and I just know how much you love me back.
I secretly like when you get jealous and possessive, it makes me feel better about being the same.
How much you love and adore your sister, it's the sweetest thing, and I know you're going to be the best dad in the entire world
How much you support me
How you never fail to take care of me when I'm a mess.
You love me even when I'm a mess.
Knowing how much you want to take care of me, even though I can do just fine all by myself. Most of the time anyways.
How fantastic you smell.
How you can't cook to save your life either.
How completely opposite we are.
Sometimes you get so anxious and nervous about everything, and I just want to hug you and make sure you know it's okay.
How happy you make me.
How deeply you care about your friends.
That you're bi too.
Your height.
That you're willing to talk about things.
How you seem more stressed about the wedding then me.
I love you, good and bad. We're in this together now, okay?
Love,
Selene
Selene, Thank you... so much. I love you. I will love you forever. I am going to spend every day trying to be the man you deserve. I just... I'm used to writing these huge letters to you, but you've left me speechless. I love you. Michael
No. My soulmate is sitting in bed next to me drinking her coffee and looking at this sextrology blog with me. <3
