Kanye West - Blame Game
“ Why are you always so pessimistic? “
—– “ вecaυѕe… тнen, ιт doeѕn’т HURT ѕo мυcн wнen everyтнιng F A L L S A P A R T. “
fvcksaskia:
SASKIA BARELY WASTED time in latching onto him and refusing to let go. “Can we watch Ancient Aliens?” The effort it takes her not to tack on ‘Daddy’ kills any comforting lull of her subspace that had begun to creep up. Times like these, she wanted to be a little, wanted to feel like a child and not have to worry about dark things and only exist. “A-and pretend the bed is a princess tower that one one else can get in?”
“ANCIENT ALIENS IT IS,” Mikel couldn’t help but chuckle faintly at her request, hand shifting endearingly over her hair. At any other given time, an eye roll would have partnered his grin, the word ‘again?’ resting at the tip of his tongue. Now, however, the idea had remnants of normalcy the male craved too deeply to refuse. “Guarded by only the strongest magic,” his eyes darted over her features, lips curled in amused fondness. “No one but us,” he reassured her, pressing a kiss over her forehead.
sophiaxmoore:
“It’s okay.” Sophia said as she gave the male a smile. She listened to him and tried to understand what he meant. “I think I know what you’re talking about. At least I hope so.” Sophia said as she laughed a little. “You may want to just go ahead and show me though.”
“SHOWING YOU IT IS,” Mikel laughed, motioning back and towards his cabin. “Either way, I’m sure I could find some odd variety of a two-player game online. We’ll just be fighting to simultaneously use my laptop’s keyboard, evidently. Like the poor man’s Mario.”
fvcksaskia:
THIN HANDS REACHED up to cup his jaw, her limbs still shaking and her hold less than solid. “I haven’t seen her since August. Last August. I don’t know if she’s fine.” Without hesitation, she’s curling into him and it’s the least she can do rather than completely wrapping herself around him and seeking the protection she once thought he could provide. “I can’t sleep. Please don’t make me.”
“OKAY,” THE WORD left in half a whisper, lips pressing over her hair. He wouldn’t push beyond that, being unable to reassure much on the part of his words at all when it came to her family, and knowing her fear likely hadn’t died just yet. His arms closed around her instead, brushing over her arm slowly, “We can watch something instead, if you’d like. You can choose.”
briiarose:
“What’s the first rule of apathy then? You should give me some tips,” the brunette teased, letting out a huff at his comment about her favorite chocolates. “I wouldn’t say it’s the finest chocolate out there but what can I say? It’s my favorite and it’s cheap so I used to be able to buy like dozens of it.”
“OF COURSE. I DO consider myself to be quite the tutor,” he smirked, hands motioning towards himself jokingly. “My first tip would be to.. smile less. You know you’re in trouble when you practically radiate joy in here of all places,” he teased. “Dozens and you still aren’t sick of them? Impressive.”
sophiaxmoore:
“They really are. An app version? What do you mean exactly?” Sophia asked. She grinned back at him before nudging him playfully. “I haven’t played it in quite awhile actually. But I’m sure I’m just as amazing at it as I was in the past. You better not be judging me for playing it that’s for sure.”
“UH, GOD, OKAY — I don’t actually know the proper term for it,” he laughed, looking up in slight embarrassment, “You know how you open consoles up and you have a list of, well, apps? Netflix and such? I’m pretty sure I saw a Mario game in one of those.. boxes,” he shook his head. “I mean, obviously I could just show you, if that doesn’t make sense.”
oforivns:
“I’M SURE THEY’LL all always hate us in some small way.” He shrugged, wondering if he really meant his words or if he was just being controversial for the sake of an arguing opinion. “She can’t really decide she’s had enough. She doesn’t have much of a say here.”
"MOST LIKELY,” HE nodded, words growing emptier the more he realized his hatred for the possibility of truth behind them. As the other went on, Mikel felt almost rigid with some odd sense of familiarity in his words. “No. No they don’t,” he swallowed, looking down for a moment before clearing his throat, lips pulling into a tight smirk. “But dealing with a pet that uncooperative sounds awfully exhausting, don’t you think?”
fvcksaskia:
WAKING UP IN a fright, alone and too lost in the dark, the small blonde had numbly made her way to the only familiar place that she could. A mixture of nausea and fear washed over her, that ever growing sickness of being near Mikel coming back, but it was overpowered by her terror at being alone for the night. “D-Daddy?” Her throat was hoarse, voice croaking as she made her way inside from instinct and muscle memory. “Please let me stay here. I… I don’t know where Brinley is and I can’t be alone. I was asleep and I had this dream that my sister - Dascha, she…” the words choked in her throat, cut off by a sob as she wiped at persistent tears that burned her eyes and made wet trails down her cheeks.

MIKEL’S PRACTICALLY non-existent sleep schedule had tendency to destroy itself even further whenever he found himself alone. With his only real motivation to lay in bed at all recently being the ability to lie next to Saskia, he used work to otherwise distract himself from the night. When the silence within his cabin broke, he instantly noticed. Confused, and evidently worried as he saw Saskia, Mikel halted and looked forwards in silence, taking in her words. While every inch of him would have otherwise screamed to keep his distance, he hated seeing the blonde like this, and reached out without thought. “Of course you can stay here, Saskia,” he hushed her softly, hands slowly brushing over her features, “Dascha’s fine. Let’s get you to sleep, alright?”
briiarose:
“Apathy– perhaps I should try that out as well to see where it might lead me,” the brunette joked back with a quiet laugh. “They do have some Kitkats here so I can ask for nothing more.”
“I WOULD CERTAINLY recommend it,” he smirked before shaking his head. “You musn’t get out much if Kitkats come to mind as the finest of chocolates, but I will admit to them being up there.”
fleurboucher:
“ and it might be dangerous for us to get access to it, ” she added casually. Unlike her, some of the pets might do something drastic just to escape this place. Chuckling a little at his statement, she nodded her head in understanding as she pretended to zip her lips. “ understood. they wouldn’t hear anything from me. ”
“MOST LIKELY,” MIKEL nodded, looking down instinctively at the comment. He turned to her again as she went on, a grin tugging at the corner of his lips, “Ah, see, I knew you looked like someone I could trust,” he joked, moving back in his previous position. He paused for a second before extending his hand, “Mikel, by the way.”
sophiaxmoore:
“If you say so.” Sophia said as she shrugged her shoulders. She grinned at that. Hoping that he actually did have some Mario games at least. Sophia jumped up and down a little at that. “Better not disappoint. I’m like in all hopes that you have at least one Mario game. That I can kick your butt in if I may add.” Sophia said as she giggled. “You’ve got yourself a deal for sure.”
“I’M SURE I DO. They’re far too common. I think I’ve seen an app version on a console I have back in my cabin,” his eyes darted up in thought before looking back down at the blonde again, grinning, “Honestly? I don’t doubt that,” he laughed. “I don’t think I’ve participated in a Mario game since elementary. Not that I’m denouncing you for playing it. I just haven’t had the time.”
briiarose:
“Not caring enough to rat me out sounds good to me. Besides, I made sure that there was no guard around and I was pretty hungry so who would really miss a chocolate bar?”
“ABSOLUTE APATHY has gotten me this far,” he joked, shrugging. “Well, you aren’t wrong. I doubt the mansion has fine enough taste in chocolate to even notice.”
sophiaxmoore:
“Kind of?” She questioned. Sophia didn’t quite understand the humor in all this. She laughed a little bit at that. “Yeah, it would be a bit lazy of you, but it’s okay. I mainly like playing the mario games. You know like, super mario, mario party, super smash brothers. Those types of games.” Sophia told him. She couldn’t help but laugh at that as well. “Wow, you’re supposed to be the one who’s used to making the decision.” She said with a giggle.
“KIND OF. YEAH. It’s a bit complicated — I think kind of describes it rather accurately,” he laughed. “I might have a Mario game on a console somewhere, actually. Don’t take my word for it, though. I’d hate to disappoint.” He grinned at her remark, exaggerating a certain sense of giving in. “Fine, fine. We can reach a middle ground here. We’ll focus on Mario for now, and I’ll look into what there is to do around here. Save it for later on. Deal?”
fvcksaskia:
“YOU KNOW.” HER jaw ached from gritting her teeth so harshly together. Bright emerald eyes stayed focused on her lap because she knew if she looked at him, she really would lose it. “I’m not answering your questions. You’re answering mine. When were you going to fucking tell me?”
HE WASN’T GOING to push beyond that. He didn’t know until right then, but it wasn’t like that mattered at this point. There was a short paused before Mikel finally answered, “I wasn’t.” He turned to her, gaze hardened. He had six months to conclude what to do when it came to Brinley, and another month without Saskia in the picture at all. He knew his position on the matter. He wasn’t going to lie. “Frankly, I never saw it as my place to. I’m not — ” he sighed, finding this quite a bit harder to admit out-loud than he had thought. “She didn’t want to talk about it. So I didn’t. And that extended onto you. If you were going to find out, I wanted it to be on her terms, not mine.”
sophiaxmoore:
“Wow, that’s quite a long time of being here, but at least its kind of worked for you two?” She questioned. Not really sure how else to put that really. Sophia also hoped that whomever she did end up being paired with, he’d end up staying and not leaving any time soon. “I believe that is correct. What is it that you’d rather do?” She questioned as she raised an eyebrow at him giving him a bit of a smirk.
HER REPLY INSTANTLY humored him, a quick laugh falling a little too close to a snort leaving him. “Yeah. Kind of,” he repeated, nodding. “How lazy would it come off to ask what kind of video games you like?” He laughed, shaking his head. “I’m not entirely sure what there is nearby. Although we could easily check — Yeah, I’m not exactly used to making the decision. God forbid you ever ask me where I want to eat,” he joked.
