You wake up from the sun shining through your open curtains that you forgot to close before you went to bed. You rub at your eyes as you look over your shoulder to see Misaki still fast asleep. You turn to face their sleeping face.
Their mouth was slightly hung open and her arm was firmly wrapped around your waist. Her hair was disheveled and her two star-shaped clips were falling off. And she was snoring a little..
You sigh and nudge her gently. When that didn't work, you nudge them even harder. "Misaki, wake up." This time, you grab her shoulder and shake her. They finally wake up with a yawn. "G'morning. I was having an amazing dream about my favorite person ever. Then you woke me up."
You feel your cheeks heat up. "About your favorite person ever? Even tho they're laying beside you?" You feel Misaki pull you closer and your heart races faster. "You're dorky," you mumble under your breath. You suddenly felt the urge to avoid her eyes, and so you did.
"Only for you," Misaki replied with a smile. That didn't hide or help how flustered you felt being so close to them. You smile again, but you know it's time to get up. It's 1pm already, and you haven't even started your next novel.
"Alright, alright.. the sappiness aside," you try and detangle Misaki's arms from your waist, "i've got work to do. And we can't sleep in all day." She groaned in response, refusing to let go of your waist.
"C'mon.. stay with me for a little bit longer!" Misaki tried to plead with you, "you can start your novel later." A little bit longer usually meant a few hours longer..
You try for a second time to get her off of you. "Don't try that on me. It won't work," you tried to sound serious but you weren't angry. It's endearing, you couldn't really get mad at them.
Misaki fake frowns, letting out a dramatic sigh, "you're going to leave your dorky assassin all by themselves? I never knew you could be so.. cruel!" You play along with them, letting out a gasp, "I would never!"
Then, you give into Misaki's whims, "fine. I'll stay with you. But no more complaining." They smile brightly, "I won!" You hesitantly wrap your arm around their waist, making both you and them nervous. A small flush appeared on their cheeks. "I really did win with a partner like you," Misaki whispers.
You close your eyes and fall back asleep. Your sleep schedule is probably going to be ruined and now you have a lot more writing to do tomorrow. But it was worth it.
