MICHAEL:
“i mean, i can play the ukulele too. but besides that, just the bass guitar.” michael nodded, “i guess that makes sense, just messing around until something gets created. even if we did make our own music, i don’t think we’d ever do anything with it seriously. i’m too into cars and she’s too into dance. my name’s michael by the way.”
“oh the ukulele is wonderful, and so fun. i’d love to bring it out one day without being kicked out of the band.” of course, that was a joke. but she wasn’t sure how well it’d sound with their music. “we should totally play together some time, just for fun. oh, cars? that sounds interesting, what do you do? i’m mila, it’s nice to meet you.”
OLIVIA:
“i think the band was wonderful.” olivia said with a crooked grin, “the drummer’s really hot,” a laugh, “but then again, i may be a bit bias. it really is quite a nice party and clearly oliver has more money than he knows what to do with.” she leaned against the rail and took a pause, “i think charlie wants to get with him.”
“yeah, i think you might be. but i’d have to agree with you though, the drummer’s fine as fuck.” there was a playful tone in her voice, even though she truly meant her words. which was no secret to anyone by now. “clearly. maybe one day we’ll do too.” she rolled her eyes at the comment, but still laughed nonetheless, “can’t say i see why. maybe i’m too gay, or maybe charlie just wants to get with everyone.”
MOLLY:
molly beamed, throwing her hands up in the air. “i thought that it was fantastic! did you see me dancing? i was dancing along!” she laughed, performing said dance. “oliver’s lucky that he got your band.”
“oh, i did yes!” she smiled right back, laughing a little at how enthusiastic the girl was being. “you’re such a great dancer! oliver is noah’s cousin, our bassist so i suppose it was bound to happen.”
after making a single mistake.
BASIL:
basil looked over at the girl with a bright smile and a drink in his hand. “from what i heard-” he chuckled, pointing to his ears. “you did great! was it cool performing on a yacht? i feel like it would be cool.”
her lips turned into a big smile after learning he thought it was pretty good, she always felt a little nervous before going onstage and also afterwards, mostly because mila worried too much about what other people thought of them. so she always tried to do her best, “thank you! i’m glad you liked it!” she didn’t mean to yell so much, but there were so many people and she was just too excited still, plus she wanted to make sure the other could understand her. “it was cool, yes. can’t say i’ve ever performed on a yacht before. i mean, it’s really no different but still cool!”
ARIELA:
“must be nice to have accepting parents. can’t say i know how that feels.” ariela sighed, but her face soon shifted into a smile and a she gave a laugh, “yeah, that would be embarrassing. but you know what would be better? you slipping on stage and like taking charlie or noah down with you. i imagine liv would be safe because she’s back behind the drums.”
“it is, i’m aware i’m lucky for that. what are your parents not accepting of?” she asked curiously, head tilting to the side a bit as she wondered what the other was really talking about. “that would be amazing, if i’m going down so are they. i’d go for noah, i feel like charlie would laugh it off and everything but would lowkey plot an intense revenge later on whereas noah would simply laugh with me. i’d like to think, anywayq. yes, she’s kinda safe back there.”
MICHAEL:
“your set was completely rad. i loved it. consider me a new fan.” michael complimented as he looked away from the water to the guitarist from the band that performed on the yacht. “i dick around with the bass guitar and my roommate drums. we like to mess around and play along with songs sometimes, but, like, it’s super cool that you’re creative enough to make your own melodies and lyrics and all that jazz.”
“thank you!” she thanked him eagerly, genuinely happy that he would call himself a new fan. even though since a few months ago when they were an opening act for a bigger band than them they’ve been getting a little more recognition, she still got unbelievably excited at the thought of having new fans. “i think that’s amazing though. that’s pretty much how we started honestly. i mean, i’ve always written lyrics and my dad taught me to play guitar and all that a while back. but my friends and i would just mess around at first, until we tried to turn one of my lyrics into an actual song and it just went from there. it’s crazy. so you play the bass guitar then? is there something else you play?”
OLIVER:
oliver had approached the girl once he had spotted her, and at her question he just chuckled, “is that really a question?” he raised an eyebrow, “you guys sounded great,” he nodded. “any party i have from here on out, i’ll make sure to get in contact with you guys,” he assured her. “planning on staying a bit longer to have a few drinks now?” he asked, noting the drink in her hand before his eyes came back up to look her in the eyes. “want to cool off?” he asked, “pool is pretty empty right now.”
her lips quickly turned into a smile as the other went on about how good they sounded, any compliment to her music was a certain way to her heart. plus, he was the one with the money in this situation so reaching his expectatives was kind of the goal here. “awesome! i’m glad you liked it. i mean, i’m sure you’ll keep in contact with noah plenty so that’s always good anyway.” if he wanted them to play at any other of his parties again there was most definitely at least one way he could reach them. her eyes dropped down to the drink in her hand and then back up at oliver, nodding her head to his answer as her lips pressed down together. “yeah, i figured why not. everyone seems to be having a blast.” her gaze turning to the pool at his suggestion, thinking about it for a second. “sure.” mila finally agreed and headed towards it, making sure the other was following behind. once they arrived, she set her drink down on the floor and slipped off her skater skirt before sitting down. “so what is the occasion?” she asked, trying to figure out why someone would throw such a party out of nowhere and also just trying to chat up with him.
ARIELA:
ariela didn’t really have friends in middle school or high school where sleepovers like this would happen, often keeping to herself and preferring her own company. but she had to say, she was enjoying what she had missed out on. she was glad she had a friend like mila to exprience this with. “yeah, i bet. i’d imagine that would be something you would want to control how something like that would come out.” ariela personally knew she’d want control over her coming out to any part of her family, if (when) that would happen. “she took it well though? that’s good.” she tossed a gummy worm at mila, “i’m surprised that’s the MOST embarrassing thing that’s happened to you though.”
“eventually, yes. my parents are very accepting so as long as they were okay with is so was my nana.” she shrugged, avoiding the gummy worm because there was no way she was gonna be able to catch it with her mouth, yet it hit her in the head. “yeah i’m sure too, but i couldn’t really think of anything else at the moment. hm, one time i slipped on stage that was embarrassing too.”
iamhalsey: Throwback to stormy skies and my favorite guys. Missing Australia.
after playing for around forty minutes or so and helping pack the equipment back in their cases and such, mila finally found herself enjoying the party as one guest more, helping herself to a drink she leaned over the rail to be able to look at the water. “so what did you think of the performance?” she said to the nearest person, considering the place was rather packed someone was bound to hear her anyway.

NOAH:
noah both leaned closer to mila when she pulled him in while all the while leaning back on one of his palms. a hand rested low on mila’s thigh. being touchy feeling with each other while sober wasn’t exactly new to the members of melodrama and it definitely wasn’t a surprise that it was amplified when they were drunk. noah howled with laughter at mila’s statement, “you know? they have such a weird friendship that they probably would have been in a polyamorous relationship with you. granted, i feel like that wouldn’t work out now. liv’s not possessive but you’d be hers, if that would ever happen again.” noah speculated. his eyes narrowed, “my turn? i don’t remember agreeing to this. okay, okay. like, before i knew you were gay, i totally wanted to get with you. but now you’re like my sister and that would be so weird even if you were into guys and up for it.”
noah’s statement made her laugh, mostly because he wasn’t too far off from the truth. she was sure if that would’ve been proposed earlier and if she hadn’t fell for olivia the way she did then it could have probably happened. “maybe, yeah. not sure how charlie would have been with it though. yeah, true. i wouldn’t even mind that.” her lips pressed together at the thought, maybe it was her current state but the idea if being olivia’s seemed even more desireable at the moment. however, that thought was pushed to the back of her mind with her friend’s confession, the idea did seem a little weird considering their close relationship and the fact mila wasn’t really into men to begin with. but it still flattered her and caused her lips to turn into a small smile. her relationship with noah was completely platonic and that’s what she was comfortable with. “well, if i went to a gay camp to get treated, got cured and came back as a straight girl i’d totally get with you.” she joked, though part of her was sure that if she were to find herself attracted to guys, noah would be one of those.
