Today will be different. It has to be. I will smile, and it will be believable. My smile will say, "I'm fine, thank you. Yes, I feel much better." I will no longer be the sad little girl that lost her parents. I will start fresh, be someone new. It's the only way I'll make it through.

hope went to the diner to study and eat since she needed to make sure she was prepared for a test tomorrow. the tribrid never studied too much, but not having to fight malivore monsters made it so she could actually focus on school for once. she also had her grandmother’s grimoire, hoping it would have a spell to fix everything. “that’s a relief, was a bit worried you would be katherine.” while hope never met katherine she had heard a lot about her. “umm.. i’ll take a coffee for now.”

elena looked at the girl and was shocked at that she not only knew her, but her evil doppleganger elena  ❝i’m sorry, i don’t wanna sound rude, but how do you know me, and well know katherine?❞ she was worried. she didn’t smell human, but also didn’t smell of vampire, or werewolf, or even witch. it was a real confusing things

caroline wished that they’re reunion could be a happy one. that she wasn’t struggling with the memory of her own father torturing her. that she didn’t have to tell elena about their so called futures. “yeah, they’re both here. believe me, i wish they weren’t…” she sighed, shaking her head. “yes, i’m still a vampire. but apparently… in my future, i’m magically implanted with twins. not just any twins but alaric’s twins. oh and apparently… you’re married to damon and have a daughter together somehow. i admit, i was a little blindsided to ask how your daughter was possible. i… i supposedly marry stefan.” she whispered, almost wincing as she said it. the last thing she wanted was for elena to hate her but she needed to speak to someone about all the things she had learned. 

❝i thought you and damon became friends.. ish❞ she was worried, as she heard the tale ❝wait you were impregnated by magic? alaric’s kids?❞ her mind was spinning. lots had happened that seemed impossible, but this was beyond crazy. ❝wait how can i have a daughter? i’m a vampire too❞ she stated. hearing that caroline was married to stefan was something she had heard when she woke up, but it clear either caroline wasn’t aware, or felt like she would be upset. yes stefan was once the great love of her life, she also hurt him and was still confused about all of her feelings since she woke up. but she’d never be upset with caroline over something like this. ❝oh caroline ❞ she hugged her friend.

elena had gotten out of a test, and it was still early and she decided to go to the beach. she was about to head into her building, and heard a voice asking if she was her mom ❝um.. i am sorry, i don’t have any children.  my name is elena❞ she knew she was one of many dopplegangers  ❝what’s your name?❞

elena was walking, texting her boss saying she couldn’t come in on her day off saying she had an exam. she didn’t, but it was such a nice day, and she worked 6 days a week, and she deserved her day off. she fell and scrapped her knee.  ❝son of a..❞ she winced. she looked up saying ❝yeah i’m fine..❞ she was shocked  ❝lexi? is that you?❞ her knee had healed because she was a vampire.  ❝are you really alive?❞

elena looked at the pretty young women and felt bad. the dinner was slow, and sat down across from her  ❝i’m sorry, i’ve been here a few months, by choice, but i do get wanting to go home. i wish i had a solution.❞ she was sympathetic.

rosie was waiting for it to get a little darker in order for her to wander the island and get some good photos. she’d been busy all day and was really overdue eating something good. “thanks.” she mused as soon as she set foot inside, sitting herself down. “uh, can i get a strawberry milkshake? and… well, what’s good to eat? i’m pretty starving so right now i’m debating ordering one of everything.” she chuckled.

she smiled as she wrote down the order ❝well for me, i love the grilled cheese, with tomato soup. what are you in the mood for?❞ she asked curiously. she had lived on the grilled cheese and soup whenever she’d study here. ❝if you like sweets, we have an amazing apple pie, which i can warm up and put ice cream on and i promise its life changing❞

aurora nodded a little. “it seems a lot of people are struggling here. myself included.” she admitted, especially since meeting another woman who claimed to know her mother better than aurora did. “i can understand that. i’d quite like a change from here.” she chuckled.

caroline’s lower lip trembled a bit and she let out a shaky sigh. “i-i’m sorry to hear that your girlfriend died. this… this place seems good at bringing people back. maybe you’ll see her again.” she whispered before tears began to trail down her cheeks. “before coming here… my father… kidnapped me and kept me in a cell. torturing me because he sees me as a monster.” was it dangerous to begin this conversation? absolutely. she could reveal herself as a vampire and lose everything. but scott was right. she needed someone to speak to, holing it in was breaking her.

scott looked at the sad eyed blond and felt sympathy. ❝i understand. i am a mutant, and where i come from, we are hated, hunted, and treated like second class citizens. i don’t know what its like to have your parents do that, and i’m sorry you do, but it can get better❞ he smiled ❝i don’t think you’re a monster.❞ he told her. he wasn’t sure what she was, but he was sick of the world gtreating those who were different

without her family, cora was beginning to feel even more lonely. cora really needed to stop pushing people away. she let out a soft sigh before shaking her head. “no, it’s fine. i’m sorry. i’m not used to people wanting to talk to me.” usually they wanted to attack. “if it’s ‘how are we here’ or ‘how do we get home’… i’m afraid i can’t give you an answer.”

she smiled awkwardly, weird to be reminded of her old life ❝no that’s fine, um.. would you like some coffee? or i don’t know pie?❞ she was talking to damon like he was a stranger, and not one of the epic loves of her life. she didn’t know what to say. did she hug him? did he want a hug? did she want a hug? she was all confused. it was just too much. ❝why don’t you sit down and i’ll be right with you❞ she went back to grab two cups of coffee, seeing her hands shaking with nerves
