warnings: extremely mild angst, he’s just mopey (he’s fine)
Jason sits slumped over the kitchen island, head lying in his crossed arms. His now soggy cereal disregarded after barely a few bites.
Dick’s been rummaging through the cabinets for the better part of twenty minutes while Tim has sat atop of the nook table shoving donuts in his mouth for the better part of thirty.
Damian trudges into the room, past them and onto the nook bench, taking out a knife and beginning to whittle away at a block of wood.
He glances at Jason with a scowl. “If you’re going to be so miserable, can’t you do it in your own home?”
Jason just grunts.
He wishes. You and Bruce had conspired to trap him at the mansion for the week so he could heal from injuries sustained during the last mission without risk of him suiting up and sneaking away from you in the middle of the night.
But it’s not even the fact that he’s basically being babysat that’s got him so disgruntled. He secretly wouldn’t really mind it at all if you were here too. But you were dead set that the manor was too far out of your way for work, so you’d stayed behind. A lose-lose for Jason.
“He’s just mad his girlfriend kicked him out,” Dick teases, swiping through the fridge.
Tim snorts from the doorway, “Me too. He’s a lot more depressing on his own.”
Jason keeps his head down as he blindly reaches for the spoon in his cereal and chucks it at Tim’s head.
Tim catches it without thought, continuing, “A lot more irritable, at least. Why isn’t she here?”
“She’s gotta work,” Dick says, scanning through the pantry.
Damian peeps his head up from his project. “But Todd has a rather large supply of less than legally obtained money, does he not?”
“Yeah, but she said she wants to pay her own rent, I think,” Dicks hums, finally giving up on his quest for a snack.
Damian pauses.
“So she wants to live in a tiny apartment?” He asks, a mixture of confused and horrified.
“Watch your mouth,” Jason mumbles.
“It was a genuine question!” Damian protests, face screwed up.
Jason finally lifts his head up, turning to his little brother with a raised brows. “And I’m genuinely going to break your nose.”
It’s an empty threat, maybe. But it was enough to shut Damian up anyways. Jason turns back to his cereal and swishes the bowl around.
Dick rests his arms on the counter across from Jason and speaks lowly. “You know, it is just a few days. She’s coming back.”
“Yeah, whatever.”
Jason was never one for showing his feelings—let alone talking about them.
He misses you, plain and simple. Dick could see that much clearly, though the longing looked unfamiliar on Jason.
Bruce lingers in the hallway, just past the island, listening.
He’ll admit (to himself) that he’s worried about Jason. It’s been three days and Jason has yet to show a crack in this demeanor. And while it’s not uncommon for him to stow himself away, there is something quite wrong with the way he hasn’t countered his brother’s jabs at him or teased them.
And while he could do without the blatant threats, he’s proud to hear his son defending his girlfriend, even over trivial things. It’s one of the few moments where he feels like he did right by him as a father.
And now here’s his son, caring about someone else more than he cares about himself. Someone who’s a good person, no less. It had been your idea to trick Jason into staying at the manor, you were scared that he would push his body past its limit when you couldn’t do anything to help.
Bruce knew you didn’t feel great about basically banishing him for the week but he could see that you just wanted what was best for Jason. He could see it so clearly. Maybe Bruce could never have been a perfect father, could never have given his son everything he needed despite having more money than he could ever use. Maybe he couldn’t help him, even now.
But you could.
Bruce peers around the corner, leaning up against the doorframe.
He watches Damian give up on carving at his block and start into the leg of the table.
He watches the bickering that broke out after Tim grab the last glazed donut, which was apparently the only thing Dick could possibly fathom eating.
And he watches Jason.
As Jason’s phone lights up on the counter next to him. He glances down at it with a frown before his face absolutely lights up.
He scrambles to pick the phone up and starts typing away. A quiet action that catches the attention of all of his brothers.
He types and types, waits for ten seconds for a response and types and types again—smile on his face.
The Waynes didn’t need to be the greatest detectives in the world to know who he was texting.
small amnesia drabble ft osamu based on this 9yr old video that still makes me giggle. cw: little violence mention but that’s it.
The hell’s that beeping coming from…
There’s a noticeable restriction in his movement when he slowly begins to stir, lethargy sitting heavy on his limbs as his eyelids pull with visible tension.
Osamu immediately winces. “…Fuckin’ bright…”
Someone gasps at the foot of his bed.
It’s an effort to crane his neck and peek over the footing of his bed, more of an uncomfortable strain than the headache he should expect but what he finds there might just be worth it.
There’s… a cottony to the woman standing before his bed unreserved for anybody else in that typical stark hospital lighting. A fuzzy glow, unburdened by the mussed hairs that stick out of your done up hair or that blue tinge of worry that melts into relief the moment you realize he’s returning eye contact. There’s a few vending machine snacks in your hand that he watches you discard as you step closer to him, and he’s not too shy to blatantly ogle as you take a comfortable seat at his bedside.
That beeping’s gotten a little faster. “You’re up. How do you feel?”
“Dunno…” Though charmed would’a been his second answer.
“Dunno’ s a good answer.” You reply. “Better than what the other guy’s probably saying.”
“The other guy?” There’s not a lot he remembers aside the basic stuff, and you’re definitely not one of ‘em.
“The blow job that tried to hold up your shop last night. Came in swinging this big ass metal bat like you wouldn’t knock his lights out a moment later.” Your smile sparkles as you hum fondly. “Although he did knick you a few times before you could actually get at him.”
Which would explain the thick casting on his arm and the way your fingers softly graze the wrapped gauze on the side of his face. Which in turn makes him blush a little like an overgrown schoolboy.
Although the way your thumb starts to rub circles in his cheek has him breaking out in a sweat. “You saved a lot of people, ‘Samu, me including,” You coo. “But more than anything I’m just glad you’re okay.”
‘S-Samu…?
Your eyes quickly flicker to the quickening heart monitor.
Though when you glance down his face is neutral as ever. “Are you feeling okay?”
“Yeah, just…” Osamu swallows. “Just havin’ a hard time connectin’ the dots.”
“Hm? Oh, has the anesthesia not worn off completely yet?”
“Don’t seem like it.”
You nod a little understandingly, straightening your back until you’re fastening your hand in his. “Hmm, that makes sense. I mean, I can’t imagine what they’re pumping you up with after a broken elbow and a few fractured knuckles. - For your sake, they don’t stop too soon,”
Osamu watches you pull his good arm into your lap and hold it there like it belongs to you, and he’s definitely not gonna tell you otherwise. “Although, the quicker we get home the better. At the very least, for some proper rest-“
“Home?”
You tilt your head a bit. “Yeah home? You know, our cozy little shoebox apartment? The one your brother’s definitely not raiding for snacks while you’re gone?”
“Wait, are - we’re…?”
“Baby?”
“Baby.” Ohhkay,” Osamu blows out a disbelieving breath. “Oh, wow. I’m definitely missin’ some important information.”
You furrow as he tilts his head to scan you over a little more. “I hope I’m not misreadin’ this. An’ I hope to god I’m not. - But are we…?”
“Do you not… remember me?”
“I’m pretty beat up about it too, angel.”
“Oh.” You glance at the I.V. still hooked in his wrist. “Yeeaah, that anesthesia has not worn off yet.”
“I’m not misreadin this, right?”
“No. No, you’re not, honey. You’re not.”
“Aye so,” He lifts himself more properly on the hospital bed. “What… the hell does a scrub like me gotta pull off to bag a dime like you, angel? Askin’ that honestly.”
And it looks like an effort not to full out laugh at the genuine confusion on his face. “Straight to the point, huh?”
“I mean, when a guy wakes up to a girlfriend like-“
“Wife.”
“Wi-“ The way he all but gasps to himself has you full out giggling before you can stop yourself. “Yer lyin! Ma wife?!”
The little (see: not little) rock you wave on your ring finger is enough to turn him all but blue, especially when you reach forward to gingerly unveil the matching wedding band hanging from a chain under his hospital gown. “Your wife, baby. Made me a Miya not even a year ago.”
Osamu quietly repeats the admission under his breath as he takes a moment to digest that.
And then he’s turning to you fast enough to break the sound barrier. “Can I kiss ya’?”
You chortle as you lean in, gentle mint pervading his nose. “You’ve been kissing me, baby.”
Osamu’s putty when your lips meet.
Yeah, there’s no way he didn’t die and go to heaven.

TO SAY THAT MIYA OSAMU was nervous would be a severe understatement.
Every molecule in his being was on the verge of spontaneous combustion out of pure nerves, and that was still putting it lightly, to be honest.
If, a year ago, someone had told him that he'd be in this state over Y/L/N Y/N of all people, he would've scoffed and pointed them in the direction of the nearest psychiatrist. A year ago, she had just been that girl in nearly every one of his university classes who had managed to piss him off in every possible way, from the very day they had met and she had 'accidentally' tipped her water bottle all over his pristine notes.
(In hindsight, considering that Y/N had thought him to be his identical twin, Atsumu, it was justified. However, past Osamu was not aware of that fact, and was determined to despise the girl.)
Now, Osamu couldn't imagine feeling any other way about Y/N than the way he did now. She inspired his every smile, sent his head reeling and heart racing, occupied every one of his thoughts with her loud laugh and sweet smile.
Looking back, he was surprised that it had taken him half a year to get over his avid dislike for Y/N and discover his true feelings. Now, exactly eighteen months to the day after they had first met, they were celebrating their first anniversary.
And Osamu still couldn't find the fucking lighter.
Torn from his wistful reminiscences by the extent of his panic, the dark-haired man resumed his frantic search of his apartment, practically tearing the place apart in his desperation to find his kitchen lighter. Though it was stupidly cliche, he'd wanted to do something sweet for his beloved girlfriend to celebrate their first anniversary, and he'd settled on doing the one thing he did best.
Cook.
Osamu had planned out a whole dinner made for them with his own two hands (all of the food currently out on the kitchen bench, waiting to be cooked, excepting the surprise in the fridge), and had prepared the tiny, four-person dining table for two. A white tablecloth, lights dimmed, surrounded by as many scented candles as he could find.
Circling back to the reason why he was utterly fucked if he couldn't discern the whereabouts of the lighter, and soon.
He just about keeled over from a spike in his heartbeat when he heard the absolute last thing he wanted to right then.
"Samu, babe, what's all this?"
As Y/N stumbled into the apartment, all Osamy could manage was a feeble, "Well, you're home early."
Home. The word was just as much a testament to their relationship as the date they were celebrating that day. It had gone from his apartment to their apartment - Osamu's place to home.
"My last class got cancelled," his girlfriend explained, as she dropped her bag and looked around herself in wide-eyes realisation, somehow still stunning beautiful even in her evident tiredness. "Wait, is this ..."
Osamy could've died right then and there, fixing his gaze firmly on the floor and mumbling, "I wasn't planning on ... this. I'm sorry, but ... happy one year, Y/N."
Y/N crossed the room until she was in front of him, gently grabbing his hands and squeezing them, silently imploring him to look her in the eyes.
"It's okay," she whispered, somehow wiping his frustration away in just two words. "I'm the one who should be saying sorry - but let's not spend tonight apologising, okay? Let's celebrate."
He was suddenly struck with his love for her so strongly it nearly brought him to tears to his eyes as she dragged him to the kitchen.
Swallowing back the affectionate lump in his throat, Osamu reached for a knife as Y/N brought him a cutting board, having easily discerned from the laid-out ingredients that he had planned on making her favourite dinner. They prepared in mostly comfortable silence, though Osamu broke it with a self-demeaning snort as Y/N found the lighter without even looking properly, unaware of his struggle to find it as she darted around to light all the little candles.
When dinner was served, they sat at the table together, and Y/N leaned across to cup his face in her hands.
"Samu. This was so sweet, and I can't thank you enough. You-" she sniffled back sudden tears. "You mean so much to me."
"You're everything to me," Osamu returned, covering one of her hands on his cheeks with his own. "And, as much as I wanted this to be a surprise ... it was really nice to do it with you."
Y/N chuckled, leaning over the table to press a leaning kiss to his lips, before pulling back with a knowing look. "I have a feeling that's not all you've got planned for tonight - so let's eat, and surprise away."
As she clinked her glass of her favourite drink with his, he was again unsurprised by her unfailing intelligence and ability to read him. Some things one just knew about a person once they'd been dating for long enough.
"Hey," Osamu found himself saying, meeting Y/N's eyes with the little smile she had fallen for what seemed like so long ago. "You remember how much we used to hate each other, right?"
She laughed, setting down her utensils to cover her mouth. "We were both a little immature, huh? I mean, I don't know, I like thinking about your confession more."
He groaned, loudly, at the reminder of the day he'd fumbled his way through an admission of liking her, stuttering and red-faced. "Are you ever going to stop talking about that? I'm your boyfriend, you're not meant to tease me for all eternity!"
"That's exactly what I'm meant to do," Y/N corrected teasingly, with a cute little wink that still had butterflies fluttering in Osamu's stomach the same way it had all the way back when he'd first started liking her. "But, if it makes you feel better, remember our first date?"
Osamu nearly snorted at the resurfacing memory. "I don't think I've ever seen someone be so awkward. We were way too used to be mean to each other, weren't we?"
They relapsed into contemplative silence as they finished their dinners, before Y/N made a last, quiet comment,
"Spending the year with you has been amazing, Osamu. The awkwardness and mistakes and whatever else ... it doesn't matter, because I got to experience them with you, and I have you, and I-"
She didn't get to finish her sentence, because Osamu stood suddenly, rounding the table to yank her to her feet, his arm curling around her waist all the warning she got before his lips slammed onto hers.
This kiss was much more passionate than their earlier one - Osamu's mouth moving almost hungrily, Y/N's hands clutching his broad shoulders, desperately trying to keep herself grounded. She nibbled at his bottom lip, thoroughly enjoying the excuse of the occasion to get to kiss her boyfriend so deeply.
He broke away to breathe, lips swollen and chest heaving as he smiled somewhat giddily, stumbling to the kitchen. Retrieving a closed, white box from the fridge, he returned to her side to bring her back with him to it.
"Y/L/N Y/N," Osamu started, his thumb swiping across her knuckles the way his tongue had over her lips only seconds ago. "The last year has been absolutely incredible. I'm so lucky I get to have a girlfriend as beautiful and kind and amazing as you, so happy that you're here. I've never enjoyed a time of my life so much, and if I could relive the past 365 days forever, I would, just to be by your side for all the time in the world."
Y/N genuinely had to blink back tears at his raw, heartfelt words, but he wasn't done.
"I know most of my surprise was ruined-" she winced apologetically. "-but I still have this."
He opened the white box on the table, and Y/N couldn't hold back the tears this time, letting them flow freely down her cheeks as she slapped a hand over her mouth,
Exactly a year ago to the day, on their first date, they had shared a cake of her favourite flavour, a slice from a beautiful masterpiece they'd spotted in a bakery window.
Osamu, her sweet, perfect, Osamu, had recreated it himself for their first anniversary, with only one difference.
In cursive icing across the top, the cake said "I love you, Y/N."
She burst into full-on sobs, launching herself at him and letting him catch her on his chest as she wrapped her arms his waist.
"Don't cry!" Osamu laughed, though she could hear the emotional tears in his voice, too. "Shit, Y/N, beautiful, don't cry!"
"I love you," she repeated, over and over. "I love you, Osamu. I love you, I love you, I love you."
He gently pulled her off him to kiss her tears away and cut two generous slices of the cake, serving one up to her. "Happy one year."
"Happy one year," Y/N smiled, unable to resist pulling him in for another kiss.
And, for dozens of anniversaries to come, Y/N wasn't going to let Osamu go.
★ words of the prophet: might be my favorite toji piece. here you go, nonnie <3 repost from @/miss-minty-writes
his life is more than hectic. running around, killing people, making money so he can spoil you (even though you said you didn’t need that expensive bath set, he still bought it), trying to survive in general. it’s complicated when he leaves home and doesn’t know when—if—he’ll return—the stress that single thought gives him is enough to wreck his nerves enough to second-guess his choice of getting out of the comfort of your bed—and arms—that morning.
so when he does return, throwing whatever weapon he has in his hands on the floor and kicking his shoes under the stairs, he walks around the house searching for you. today was a close call—too close for his taste—and all he has on his mind is to hug you for a few good hours. he knows you’re always down for cuddles.
in reality, what he wants to do—needs to do, is feel your beating heart, your warm skin, your calm breath—feel your small palms caress his head, carding your fingers through his dark hair—he wants to squeeze your hands, to make sure that it’s not some stupid fever dream, or he’s not bleeding in some secluded alley and this is his last memory of you.
toji needs to know that you’re alive. and if you are alive, so is he.
a sigh of relief escapes his lips when he finds you in your bedroom, under the blanket, reading a book he remembers you started a few days prior. he’s never been the type to remember things unless they interested him—and while he didn’t care about what you read, he cared about you. you peel your eyes off the pages at the sound of the door opening, and a smile blooms on your lips when you see his figure moving around the room to find a change of clothes. you put your book down, climbing out of the bed and stretching your arms towards him. toji spares you a glance before throwing a shirt identical to the one he’s wearing over his shoulder—he needs that hug, you both know he does.
“i’m sweaty and bloody, brat,” he rasps, rolling his stiff shoulders to relieve the tension in them. any other person would scoff at the way he addressed you, but you know better—he had a bad day. and it’s not derogatory—but endearing, rather, when he looks at you with those blue eyes of his who convey nothing but love and adoration for you.
“i don’t care,” you counter, hands still outstretched. “you can shower afterwards. come here, for now.”
your tone is firm, yet sweet and gentle. his body complies before he can protest further—arms circling your waist, head falling in the crook of your neck, one of your hands cradling the back of his head and the other rubbing patterns on his back. he exhales—it’s like half of his worries disappeared—and his lungs don’t feel compressed anymore. he tightens his arms around your middle, and you laugh quietly.
“i love you, sweetie,” you whisper, feeling his small smile on your skin when he places a sloppy kiss there.
“think i love you more.”
you let go of him, allowing him to stretch and crack some joints, and you giggle when he blows a strand of hair falling in his eyes.
“i’ll be here when you finish.”
he grunts in response, disappearing into the bathroom.
you move your legs around to dissipate the numbness settling in. you pout at the feeling, the tv static-like tingling making its way in, when the bathroom door opens, steam rising lazily as toji steps out, not having bothered to pun on his shirt. a towel is draped over his head, one hand resting on it to ruffle the dark locks so the dampness disappears. his toothbrush hangs out of his mouth as he moves around. it’s probably on purpose—he’s flexing his muscles as if you’ve never seen them before. you giggle, scrunching your nose as he smiles, finally managing to brush his teeth.
“enjoyin’ the view, sugar?” he asks, a tinge of amusement in his gruff voice. you nod, still giggling, while waiting for him to finish and hop into bed.
“very much so, but I’d rather you’re here so I can dry your hair for you.” he scoffs, as if saying ‘i can dry my hair by myself’, but complies after he spits the toothpaste in the sink, rinsing the remaining foam and throwing his toothbrush somewhere random. he makes his way towards the bed, plopping himself on his belly on the mattress next to you with a soft thud. his eyes are closed and he’s breathing evenly, and you drape yourself over him, resting your chin on his back.
“you’re poking me,” he grumbles, eyes still closed as he moves his arms, one under his pillow and over your hand that’s sitting next to his head.
“i can get off then—” you smile, starting to adjust your position, when he squeezes your palm.
“no. stay there.”
it’s not an order—more of a subtle plea, a request of some sort. you let your cheek smoosh against his broad back, feeling his muscles twitch slightly when you trace the dents of his body. featherlight touches make him sigh and he relaxes for once. the tension in his shoulders is gone when you knead them, lazily opening an eye to watch you work. he likes the way you’re always gentle when it comes to him—never rushing things, letting him space out for hours if he needs to, making sure he comes home to a warm meal and lots of love every day.
he cherishes you more than he can express—sometimes his words just slip from his tongue, without him realizing. “there’s nothing i wouldn’t give and nowhere i wouldn’t go for you, you know.” He’s perfectly calm, dozing off slightly. your lips press on his temple in a sweet kiss, and you run your hand through his hair.
“i know, toji,” you whisper. “and when our day turns to night, I’ll be right by your side.”
silence envelops you both as toji rolls over to sit on his side, grasping your wrist and tugging you down to place your head on his bicep. you snuggle up to him, giggling when he drapes an arm over you—but the urgency of him pushing you closer and closer makes you throw your own arms around his neck. Adjusting and moving around, he ends up with his face in your chest—and he slumps against you, palms clutching your shirt to ground himself.
your heartbeat is reassuring—soothing, even, as he closes his eyes and enjoys the silence. you press a kiss to the top of his head, burying your nose in his dark hair, and hug him as tight as you can.
“i love you, toji. you’re enough.”
“i know. i know.”
long gone is his cockiness, his exaggerated confidence—his voice is meek, barely above a whisper as he tangles his legs with yours. you rub his back, not once letting him go.
“i’m here, sweetheart. i never left, and i’m not going anywhere,” you murmur and you can feel his nose burying in your chest as he tries to bite back his sorrow.
“i’d live on my knees if it means i’m close to you,” he chokes, and upon hearing his shaky statement, your hands shoot up to push him away just enough so you can kiss his forehead. the gesture takes him by surprise—especially when you repeat the action, pressing sweet smooches all over his face. he looks up at you, eyes wide and watery, but no tears in sight, and you rub your nose against his lovingly.
“i’ll be on my knees next to you, holding your hand, then,” you smile.
for the first time in forever, he feels genuinely loved.
heaven can wait. blessings can wait. he’s already got his paradise—his entire life and the only blessing he needs—in his arms.
(Y/n) sees a male! Esmeralda on VDC and since then he hasn't left her thoughts. She, again and again, remembers the charming young man, his laughter and dance. It comes to the point that at one of the Dorm Leaders meeting, she suddenly says: I think I fell in love.
Oh god no hearts are about to be broken because you fell in love with a hot and mysterious gypsy. I mean, I could never blame you tho— female and male Esmeralda could make me forget about everyone in a heartbeat 😳
In which Malleus invites (Y/n) over to the Diasomnia dorm for a sleepover with his fellow three retainers. It's time to bring out popcorn that Lilia hasn't burned for rounds of truth-or-dare!
Beware, for Malleus is ready to manipulate whom the bottleneck points at should the dare involve a kiss.
Request by @tsunotaro-san.
"Lilia! Is everything ready?"
Malleus walked back and forth in the kitchen of the Diasomnia dorm, his hands clasped behind his back and his eyes lowered to the shiny marble floor. A vexed yet excited expression inhabited his face, and the conflicting feelings of joy and anxiety waged war against one another in the depths of his stomach.
Lilia watched Malleus pace back and forth in front of him, occasionally plucking a popcorn piece from the large bowl to throw it into his mouth. "Yes yes! The popcorn is done—" Lilia chirped as he munched on the treat, yet his smile soon faded and was replaced by a grimace. "Silver finished making it before I could even enter the kitchen... he's always so mean."
Malleus briefly raised his gaze to shoot Silver a thankful look. "I'm eternally grateful, Silver," he said to his fellow dorm member that sat at the kitchen table right next to Sebek, whom he was currently using as a pillow. Malleus bit his lip, growing restless and nervous once again. "Also, do you remember what truths and dares I told you to learn in case (Y/n) wants to play her curious human game with us?"
Sebek nodded and straightened his back. "Of course, young master!" he exclaimed whilst saluting. "'I dare you to hug the young master,' is the very first one — out of sixty-nine others... but I learnt them all by heart!"
Lilia let out a little giggle. "That's my boy!"
An adorably proud smile graced Sebek's lips as he puffed his chest, causing Silver to shift and instead put his head onto the table in front of him, nestling his face into his arms. Yet, he was left no rest since Malleus let out a loud gasp when he noticed a new presence by their mirror.
"Oh, by the Great Seven! (Y/n) has arrived!" Malleus immediately stormed out of the Diasomnia kitchen and ran to the mirror, where he could already see his dear human standing from a far distance. Immediately, a smile appeared on his face as he hurried the last metres to close the distance between you two. "Welcome, my treasure—" he cried out happily as he had to hold back on scooping you up into his arms and never letting you go again.
"Good evening, Malleus!" you chirped, smiling up at him. "It's nice to see you."
Silence occupied the empty mirror room as Malleus and you merely smiled at one another, enjoying each other's presence. Your bright eyes somehow managed to wash his worries away, and he suddenly felt his heart slow down and his throat loosening once again.
Eventually, Lilia strolled in and grabbed you by your wrist to excitedly drag you down the winding corridors of this dorm. "Come in. Come in!" he chimed happily whilst Malleus followed after you, soon joined by Sebek and a sleepy Silver. Lilia led you into a bedroom, which you assumed was his due to the bats decorating the windows. "It's so nice to have you over, (Y/n)! My boys and I made sure everything is as cozy as possible."
Your eyes fell on the pillows and blankets they had placed on the ground, forming a comfortable-looking circle that was perfect for a sleepover. Lilia's bedroom was strangely warm, too — definitely warmer than the rest of the dorm. Maybe a courtesy to keep you from freezing? A little yawn escaped your lips, yet the excitement in your veins kept the sleepiness at bay.
Humming in delight, you revealed to the four other students what you had brought with you aside from your pyjamas and sleeping bag: A tub of ice cream and an empty glass bottle. "I brought over a tub of ice cream for us and—"
Malleus' green eyes lit up in excitement. "Ice cream!" he cried out with a bright smile on his lips. You turned your head to look at him curiously, tilting your head to the side in utter amusement. His cheeks turned red in embarrassment as he lowered his gaze to his feet prodding one another. "Oh excuse me, I didn't mean to interrupt you, dear."
Laughing, you punched his shoulder. "Aw, you're adorable when you're all excited! You can have it if you want to," you murmured as you handed him the whole tub, your hands now a lot lighter with only having to carry the glass bottle. Holding it up into the air, you watched as the glass shimmer under the lamp's dim light. "I also wanted to say I brought a bottle since Malleus told me he wanted to play truth-or-dare tonight."
Sebek let out a huff while a shudder ran down his back due to memories of a hilarious and embarrassing nature resurfacing. "I really hate this game," he muttered under his breath, his face contorting into a grimace.
A chortle escaped your throat as you shot him a sceptical look. "You seemed to have a lot ot fun last time we did a sleepover with just us first-years."
"N-No," Sebek stammered out, always avoiding your gaze, "you're wrong."
Punching his shoulder, you let out a playful scoff. "Sure, Sebek. Sure~" you drawled, which only served to enrage the easily-angered student even more. Sebek growled at you, his eyes vicious and angry — and yet, he was all bark and no bite. Ignoring his curses, you instead turned to the other three with an innocent smile on your face. "Anyway, should we start?"
"Yes please," Silver muttered after a long yawn. He gracefully sank into one of the pillows on the ground, grabbing a smaller one to use it as a headrest. "Before I fall asleep..." You four followed his example, and soon, you sat in a small circle with the bottle placed in the centre.
"Alright! Does everyone know how it works?" you asked while hugging one of Lilia's bat-shaped pillows close to you.
Sebek nodded. "The young master made us learn the rules yesterday—"
Awkward silence followed after Sebek quickly shut his mouth due to the frightening glare that Malleus sent him. Confused as to what Sebek was implying, you slowly turned your towards Malleus and shot him a puzzled look. A little bit clueless on how to get out of this situation, Malleus just began to laugh — his laughter was so forced that even Lilia cringed at how awful it was. "Haha, you're so funny, Sebek!" Malleus exclaimed with an eerily large smile on his face, his eyes never leaving yours. "Isn't he funny? Anyway, you can go ahead and spin the bottle already— we know how it works."
Shrugging, you averted your questioning gaze from Malleus, who let out a relieved breath. "Alright, if you say so," you muttered before you got onto your knees and bent forward to spin the glass bottle laying in the centre of you five. With a flick of your wrist, the bottle began to spin in an enchanting way. Slowly, its speed diminished until it stood still, pointing right at— "Lilia!"
The bat fae clapped his hands together in utter excitement. "Dare!"
You stroked your chin whilst letting out a few ambiguous hums; truth be told, you were rather bad at coming up with creative and compelling questions or dares — but at least you were better than Sebek, proven during the last sleepover. A gasp escaped your throat and your eyes lit up in glee. "Lilia, I dare you to," you exclaimed, trailing off as their eyes hung to your lips in anticipation, "cook something up that Sebek will have to eat."
Silver's lips quirked up into a humoured smile. "Cruel."
Sebek sat there with a stiff back and his jaw having dropped to the floor. His eyes were wide in disbelief as he cried out, "You really hate me that much? I see..." You shot him another one of your innocent smiles, tilting your head to the side to question his words. He let out a huff whilst wrapping his arms around himself. "That really hurts my feelings, you know?" You felt a little bit bad for your fellow first-year — but not bad enough to pull back your dare.
Lilia was buzzing with excitement as he shot up from the floor and marched to the exit of his bedroom. "Yes! I'll go cook something up!" he announced, causing a wave of horror and dread to wash over the room's remaining inhabitants. "Meanwhile, you can continue playing!"
Silver was the first one to break the silence with a little huff. "He left before spinning the bottle..." he muttered under his breath, an exasperated sigh escaping his lips. With a shake of his head, he extended a hand to do what his father had forgotten to do before leaving. "It's alright, the old man is very forgetful these days. Let me spin it for him."
Silver retreated to his seat once the bottle had picked up in speed, spinning almost endlessly. You watched with bated breath as it slowed down — and eventually stopped to point at you.
"Me? Oh!" You clapped your hands in utter excitement. "I take... dare."
Silver's eyes lit up in a faded glee, especially when Malleus' pressing gaze landed on him, staring holes into the side of his head. The second-year stroked his chin, trying to remember that one dare Malleus really wanted Silver to give you if the opportunity ever came, which it just had. "I dare you to... uh..." Silver let out a sigh, and you urged him to hurry up with hasty gestures of your hands. Finally, Silver's eyes lit up as the hazy memory of Malleus excitedly screaming into his ear came back to him. "I dare you to sit on Malleus' lap until the end of the game."
Your cheeks grew slightly red at such a dare and a flurry of butterflies erupted in your stomach as you turned your gaze to Malleus, who was grinning from ear to ear. He very much reminded you of a child that had just been promised candy — how adorable. Taking a deep breath, you mock-saluted with a playful smile on your lips. "Yes, sir!" you chimed before crawling over to the dorm leader and carefully climbing into his lap. "Hello, Malleus."
"Hello, (Y/n)," he mused as he wrapped his arms around you and, unexpectedly, pulled you closer to him unabashedly. A little yelp escaped your lips as your side collided with his chest, and your cheeks grew a stark red. Embarrassed, you raised your gaze to hesitantly peer up at Malleus, who was merely grinning down at you.
Coughing into your first, you tried to get a grip over your shaking voice again. "Would you be so kind and spin the bottle for me?" you asked, all while avoiding his intense gaze.
Malleus hummed, quite delighted that his plan was working so well. He would have to reward Silver with extra nap-time later! But now, he had to focus on this amusing human-game. "Of course, my dear," he drawled, relishing in the way you avoided his eyes before he flicked his wrist to let the bottle spin by itself.
You watched with enchanted eyes as it came to a halt. Silver barely noticed that the bottleneck was pointing at him, already having slightly falling asleep due to the warmth and pillows surrounding him. Shooting him a vengeful grin, you asked, "Truth or dare, Silver?"
"Truth..." Silver muttered between yawns. "I don't want to do a dare right now..."
You let out a hum and rested your head against Malleus' shoulder to think up some interesting question for Silver. Satisfied by how quickly you were getting used to your position, Malleus tightened his arms around you further. Your closed eyes fluttered open and turned to look at Silver. "Hm... what is the biggest lie you've ever told?" you asked, a giddy smile on your lips.
Silver stretched his arms while casually responding, "That one time Sebek asked me if I was asleep and I just replied, 'Yes, I am asleep, Sebek.'"
His words caused a big smile to appear on your face, and seemingly never-ending laughter spewed from your lips. You never knew how hilarious Silver's humour was, and the way he delivered the joke so seriously sold it even more. "You're so hilarious, Silver!" you cried out as you buried your face in Malleus' chest, laughing your heart out. Malleus chuckled along and ran his hand through your hair to calm you down a little bit.
Silver quirked an eyebrow, not really finding his own words hilarious. Sebek, too, seemed at a loss for a reaction and merely watched in silence as his young master gazed down at you with fond eyes. "Oh? Thank you, (Y/n)," Silver muttered eventually, shrugging. Yet, the boy felt strangely confident due to your praise, and therefore wanted to bring a little bit more spice and unpredictability into the next round. "Hm... can I put up a dare before I spin the bottle?"
You laughter eventually ceased, and you were busy rubbing your slightly teary eyes as you looked at Silver with a slightly quizzical look in your eyes. "That's not how we usually do it, but yes, go ahead," you said, nuzzling into Malleus' embrace again; maybe you were enjoying this more than you should have. "That sounds interesting."
Silver had a slightly mischievous sparkle in his eyes as he proclaimed, "I dare the person whom the bottle points at next to kiss Malleus."
"Oh~?" Your eyes lit up in amusement and straightened your back immediately. Giggling, you looked at the knight sitting next to Malleus and you. "I want it to point at Sebek—"
Sebek let out an offended gasp, and he would have strangled you if it weren't for you being protected by his young master. "Oi! How dare you!" he hissed, causing you to merely stick your tongue out at him.
Malleus let out an amused yet slightly unnerved chuckle. "Hush, don't say that, my treasure," he muttered as he wagged a finger in front of your eyes, as if chiding a child.
Silver began to laugh. "I'd love for that to happen."
You shot Silver a wide grin. "See? Silver is so cool." The gaze you two exchanged was a knowing one, and it left the other two occupants of the room quite unnerved. Nonetheless, you soon waved your hand dismissively and yelled out, "Spin the bottle! I can't wait anymore."
Silver nodded and complied to your wishes, spinning the bottle with a flick of his wrist. Everyone's eyes were glued to the bottle that was slowing down with its rotations, soon coming to a halt. Malleus especially seemed quite concentrated with the way he had his fingers crossed to wish the bottle to point at you.
Sadly, it pointed at Sebek — just as you had prophesied.
"Sebek!" you cried out while bawling in laughter. Silver, too, let out an amused chuckle. Sebek and Malleus seemed horrified at the notion of having to kiss one another. Squirming around in Malleus' lap, you looked up with a smug grin on your lips. "Hah, I knew it!"
Malleus bit his lip, not quite ready to accept such a humiliating defeat like that. So, while you were busy with poking his cheek and teasing him otherwise, Malleus flicked his wrist that he had hidden behind his back — out of everyone's sight. Your back turned to the bottle, you didn't notice as it magically moved an inch, green sparkles surrounding it — away from Sebek and towards you.
When Malleus began to grin from ear to ear, you were left confused. Patting your head as if you were a child, he drawled, "It seems like you didn't look correctly." A little chuckle escaped his lips as he tilted your chin so that you could get a glimpse of the bottle again. "The bottle is pointing at you, my treasure."
You furrowed your eyebrows, growing suspicious. Quite confident that you hadn't gone mad yet, you shook your head in disbelief. "Huh? But it was pointing at Sebek just a few minutes ago—"
"No, it wasn't," Sebek and Silver chimed together.
Confused, you scratched your with a defeated frown on your face. It was three against one — and if they saw it, too, then Malleus must have been correct, right? Admitting your supposed mistake, you shrugged and muttered, "Hm... then I must have seen that wrong..." You weren't a sore loser — not like Malleus. So, you just tilted your head to look up at him, cupping his cheek with a sheepish smile on your face. "Alright, Malleus! Ready?"
The dragon fae hummed, trying to get his wildly beating heart under control. "As ready as I'll ever be..." he murmured as he let his face be guided down to you.
His eyes fluttered open as your lips were about to meet. And when your lips finally found his way to his, emotions of all kinds — all of which he felt at an incredibly intensity — flooded his mind, banishing the loneliness and cold that usually occupied his head. You yourself felt your heart beginning to race as you shyly tilted your head to the side to deepen the kiss.
For a moment, everything else aside from you two faded away — even a snickering Silver and a gagging Sebek.
When the door was flung open and someone marched inside, you promptly pulled away from Malleus with wide eyes and a heaving chest. Malleus, too, seemed surprised by the abrupt end to your kiss — caused by none other than Lilia, who came strolling inside, wearing his pink apron. "Am I interrupting something?" Lilia asked as he draped his arms over Sebek's and Silver's shoulders each. Yet, no one dared to answer; Sebek looked disturbed, Silver looked amused, and Malleus and you looked like you just had ran a marathon. Finally, it dawned on Lilia. "Oh, by the Great Seven, I missed your first kiss?!"
You had your eyes trained at the ground, your face a burning red. Yet, Malleus merely looked down at you with a big and delighted smile on his lips, his cheeks quickly returning to their usually pale colour.
Silver hummed before he handed his phone to the distressed bat fae. "Don't worry, old man; I took a picture."
"I always say I have no favourites..." Lilia muttered as he eagerly snatched the device from Silver's hands, his eyes glued to the screen. "But this is why you're my favourite, Silver!"
Neil Druckmann: Halley and I have written an outline for the plot of Last of Us 3. We're not working on it now, but I hope it sees the light of day one day.
Me:
Mr Druckmann,
1. You lied to the consumers, telling them that the franchise was always about Joel and Ellie.
2. You went and tried to ruin people's livelihood on YouTube who dared talk about your game when it leaked by putting strikes on their channel.
3. You overworked your coworkers to death, to the point where 70% of the people left after the game was released.
4. You blatantly tried to hide the fact that Abby was a playable character and hide her side of the story.
5. You used Joel as a marketing tool because you knew that's who everyone wanted to see when you damn well knew he would be killed in the first 2 HOURS OF THE FUCKING GAME!! Hell, in one of the trailers you put him in a scene that doesn't happen in the game, it's Jesse instead.
6. You have even gone and disregard legitimate criticisms of the game and labeled everyone who didn't like the game as bigots, sexist or misogynist.
7. You also lied and said we didn't have to kill dogs but yet there's a scripted moment where you have to kill a dog as it attacks Ellie.
8. You tried to make Ellie and Joel the bad guys and say that Abby is the real hero when she's a fucking psychopath who relishes in the violence while Joel and Ellie never did. They did it to protect themselves and survive.
9. You said that nobody else cares for the characters as much as you do but you have a funny way of showing that you love those characters.
Joel is beaten to death by a golf club and Ellie is punished for wanting to avenger her father figure while Abby "She-Hulk" Anderson is in the right for avenging her father.
Oh and for good measure, you had a character, that looked alot like you, spit on Joel's corpse.
10. You also knew, from play testers, that people wouldn't like the game and even some of the testers hated it. But instead of getting feedback and try to fix the story, you went ahead and shipped the game as is.
11. You retconned the message of the first game, which was about love and hope, finding the light. But in the second game the message is there is no light, just misery and revenge is bad and violence begets violence. (And if anyone says "but it's about forgiveness" I will find you and smack the shit outta you)
I'm sure there are more shady shit you have done before and after this game released but that's all I can recall now.
Oh and supposedly your company is working on a remake of The Last of Us for the PS5, which it really doesn't need it.
The word "remake" has me terrified. If its just to update graphics and game play, then thats fine. But I have a feeling, Mr Druckmann, that you're gonna try and change it to how you want so that it'll fit with Pt 2's narrative. (i.e. put Joel in a more villainous light and make the Fireflies the heroes)
But I implore you, please, please, PLEASE, do NOT make a Last of Us 3. You destroyed and ruined the characters of Joel and Ellie. You made a despicable, unlikable character and pushed her as the main character that we had to sympathize with.
You broke the trust of, not just gamers, but fans of your company and the fans of TLOU. And when that trust is broken, they might never come back.
I mean who the hell wants a TLOU 3?!?! There's nothing to go from here. No hope.
If this game does happen, I will NOT play it. My heart and trust is broken. I will also not play any games that you, Mr Druckmann, are involved in.
I am DONE with Naughty Dog from now on. I'll only play their older games like the Uncharted series and the Original Last of Us. Or should I say the ONLY Last of Us.
In which (Y/n) is a talented sculptor and has taken a fascination to Malleus' obsession with gargoyles.
So what better gift is there for winning his heart than a gargoyle statue she made specifically for him? The gargoyle quickly becomes something akin to their son.

"Dear, will you return my eye-sight to me now?"
Malleus was carrying you on his back, his arms wrapped around your thighs to make sure you wouldn't slip off. You in return covered his eyes with your hands, laughing happily as he blindly walked through the front yard of the Ramshackle dorm. Malleus didn't really need his eyes in order to know where he was walking due to his heightened fae senses, but he liked to keep you in the dark to entertain you.
"Not yet!" you chirped as you craned your neck to look at your masterpiece standing in the near distance. The gargoyle's scary scowl still managed to make shivers run down your back, and you prided yourself in having done so well! Putting your chin onto Malleus' head right between his horns, a smile appeared on your lips. "Yes Malleus, go straight ahead. Great job, yes great job."
The dragon fae chuckled as he followed your instructions, walking forward with complete trust in your directions. "You're quite enthusiastic about this, my treasure," he commented, unable to control his curiosity any longer. You laughed at his words and merely adjusted your small hands that covered his glowing eyes. "Would you care to share?"
His impatience was quite endearing, but you couldn't give in — not when you were so close to keeping it a secret. Shaking your head, you gave his hip a playful kick. "No! Then it's not a surprise anymore." Malleus hummed at your words and quietly continued on with his trudging. Eventually, you were mere metres away from the gargoyle, causing you to yell, "Okay, we're here! I'll remove my hands and then you can let me down, alright?"
"Understood."
Once you removed your hands from his eyes, Malleus gently unwrapped his arms from around your thighs and let you climb down to the floor. He was careful to make sure that you wouldn't hurt yourself doing so, and luckily, you landed on the grass just fine. He watched you with an amused smile as you giddily scampered over to the object you had led him to.
"Ta-da!" you exclaimed as you wrapped your arms around the gargoyle that was just as tall as you but more than a hundred kilograms heavier probably. "I made you a gargoyle!"
Malleus' jaw fell down in utter awe, and disbelief filled his eyes. He silently watched as you lovingly hugged the piece of stone your hands had chiselled into quite an impressive gargoyle. Feeling his eyes prick with tears, Malleus raised his hands to cover his mouth; he was that touched by your gesture.
"You— what—" he croaked out, his voice muffled and his eyes slightly teary.
You laughed at how stunned he appeared to be, and bent down to give your gargoyle a high-five. Of course, he didn't respond — how could he? — but it was your crude humour that amused you. "A gargoyle for my favourite dragon fae!" you cheered whilst throwing your arms into the air. Your excitement quickly turned into concern when you found Malleus to remain eerily silent — and his eyes were unnaturally glossy. "Hey? Malleus? Are you—"
"You made..." Malleus found it hard to speak with the sniffles caught in the back of his throat. "You made a gargoyle for me?"
A soft smile appearing on your face, you nodded. "Yes! You seem to like them so much, and I wanted to try and make one, too." You briefly pulled away to inspect the visage you had given your gargoyle; he looked absolutely and utterly horrifying, but that was what you had been aiming for. "Intentionally making ugly faces isn't my field of expertise since I'm usually supposed to do the exact opposite— but making a gargoyle seemed very failsafe!"
Malleus elegantly wiped the small droplets of tears from his eyes before they could run down his pale cheeks. Despite his watery eyes, a giant smile had etched itself onto his face and simply wouldn't go away. "I'm... so speechless..."
You distanced yourself from your creation to instead grab Malleus' hand and pull him around to inspect your present for him from every angle. "The great Malleus Draconia is speechless?" you asked teasingly, lacing your fingers with his. Malleus nodded as he watched the gargoyle's little tail and wings with large eyes. "Ah, I did well then!"
"More than well—" he whispered, his voice shaking from utter amazement. "I'm in awe."
Satisfied with his reaction, you closed your eyes and leant your head against his upper arm. "Ah, you're so nice!"
Malleus chuckled and patted your head affectionately. He knew his little human was talented in crafting something from nothing, but he hadn't expected that you would ever use your talents for him — and that thought made his heart flutter with feelings he couldn't describe.
Sighing, he looked down at you with a fond smile. "What did Cater say the other day? Hm... it was some saying..." he mumbled, trailing off. You perked up, watching him curiously as he tried his best to recall how the energetic Heartslabyul's student had expressed his excitement. Finally, Malleus' green eyes lit up in realisation, and he turned down at you while opening his mouth. "Oh yeah! My heart just went doki doki."
Squealing, you hugged his arm close to you. "You're so adorable, Malleus."
"Am I?" Malleus quirked an eyebrow, and confusion pooled in his eyes as he gazed down at you. You found it cute how he didn't understand today's youth at all — it made him more charming than he already was. Malleus snapped you out of your train of thought by playfully pinching your cheek like a grandmother would. "Isn't it you who is adorable? I think an adjective like dangerous and feared would fit better for me."
You swatted his hand away, causing him to chuckle in amusement. Pulling him closer to the gargoyle, you then patted the statue's head proudly. "So, what do we call our baby?" you asked as you leant against the gargoyle's side, a loving smile on your face.
Malleus seemed taken aback by what you just had called the gargoyle. "—our baby?" he asked, his eyes wide in wonder and embarrassment. Especially the way you were so casual about it made him squirmish; would you not mind having a child with him?
You hummed in confirmation, not noticing Malleus' sudden existential crisis. "I'm thinking about calling him Bob," you said with a goofy grin on your face. When you turned around to look at Malleus, he tried his best to look as normal as possible. Grabbing both his hands, you looked up at the dragon fae with puppy eyes. "Can we call him Bob? Please?"
Malleus had a hard time talking, but he somehow managed to squeak out a coherent, "Sure—"
You let go of Malleus' hands and clapped your palms together in satisfaction. "Great! Now, how do we bring him to the Diasomnia dorm?" you asked, grinning at your boy made out of stone. "Bob is a pretty big guy."
Malleus seemed to have recovered well by then, and merely put a hand onto your shoulder at your question. "Ah, don't worry about that." Smiling down at you, he exclaimed, "He'll be gone from here by this evening."
"Alright!"
"I need to repay you for this masterpiece," Malleus mumbled despite your protests. If you went to such great lengths to make him a present, he needed to repay the favour somehow. Peering down at you, he curiously tilted his head to the side. "Is there anything you wish for, my treasure? I can grant you anything."
A cheeky smile made its way to your lips, and you all out of a sudden grew shy. "Actually— yes," you muttered quietly, but Malleus could hear you clearly. "Could I get a kiss—"
Malleus interrupted you, not hearing the end of your request due to his own booming voice overshadowing yours. "Wait no! I have just the present in mind!" he exclaimed happily as he pushed his index finger to your lips. "Say nothing, my dear. Just come over to the Diasomnia dorm tomorrow, and you shall see my present for you!"
"O—kay..." You smiled in amusement as he stepped away and teleported away, with him disappeared the statue. "See you tomorrow!"
Tomorrow arrived sooner than you had expected, and true to his word, Malleus had welcomed you warmly once you stepped through the mirror to Diasomnia. Now, he was walking closely behind you with his hands covering your eyes — just like you had done to him yesterday. You crossed your arms as he guided you through the winding corridors of the Diasomnia dorm.
"I hate this. I can't see anything!" you cried out, which only served to amuse him greatly.
Pressing a little kiss to your scalp, he cooed, "That's the point of me covering your eyes, dear."
"If I trip and die," you muttered grimly, "it's your fault, Malleus."
Your words made him laugh, but they were nowhere near as threatening enough to make him remove his hands. Grinning to himself, he mused, "I'll make sure that won't happen." His eyes seemed to be glued to the grand door on your right — it led to his bedroom. The door sprung open with the use of magic, and Malleus gently guided you towards the room. "We're almost there..."
You covered his hands with yours as you giddily followed his step. "I can't wait to see it!"
Finally, you reached his bedroom, and in the centre stood an easel with a newly drawn painting propped up on it. Malleus made sure you didn't stand too far away when he proudly removed his hands from your eyes and exclaimed, "And there you go!"
"Woah—" You gasped as your eyes fell on the awe-striking painting; it depicted three people: a father, a mother, and a son like in one of those Victorian family portraits. The mother looked strangely familiar... with that bright smile on her lips. Upon realising that the mother was supposed to be you, you snapped your head at a smug Malleus and gasped in utter shock. "Is that woman in the painting me?"
"Yes!" Malleus chirped happily as he wrapped an arm around your shoulder and used his other free hand to point at each perfectly painted face. Of course, the father, who possessed horns like the male next to you, was Malleus, the woman with (E/c) eyes was you, and the boy between them — you couldn't discern who that was. "That's you, that's me, and that's our son Bob!"
You had been so busy staring at your own face that you hadn't realised the son was actually an gargoyle, the very gargoyle you had finished chiselling out of a block of stone just a few nights ago. Turning to Malleus, you began to laugh hysterically, which confused the everlasting life out of him. Although you struggled with breathing, you eventually managed to press out, "Wait, you took me calling Bob 'our baby' literally yesterday—"
Malleus disregarded your laughing fit and nodded with a melancholic smile on his face. "They grow up so quickly..." he muttered, tighting his grip around you as he stared at Bob fondly.
Feeling a little bit light-headed due to laughing so much, you exhaled deeply and leant your head against his shoulder. "Now you sound just like Lilia."
Malleus hummed and couldn't help but ask, "Isn't our son pretty?"
"Uh—" You hesitantly pulled away to look him in the eyes, confused by his words. "Aren't gargoyles supposed to be ugly?"
Malleus gasped like you just had insulted someone dear to him. Squishing your cheeks between his palms, he shook his head vigorously. "Don't say that about our son!" he cried out with such genuine hurt filling his eyes that you wanted to retract your statement. "He's the prettiest being I've ever seen... I couldn't be a prouder father."
"Ah Malleus..." you cooed as you got onto your toes to press a kiss to his cheek. "You're adorable."
"No, Bob is adorable."
The way he said it so seriously made you want to laugh. "You really love him, huh?" you asked as you shook your head in amusement, stroking his cheek affectionately.
DID YOU MAKE THIS? I’M ABOUT TO KISS THE GROUND YOU WALK ON, MAYBE EVEN YOUR TOES. I DON’T KNOW.
