Confession: It is Our Job
It is our job to give our children the best life possible. Now, I don’t mean they need the best materialistically. They need love. They need support. They need understanding. They need to feel loved. Give them a hug. Tell them you love them. Watch them dance around the living room 100x. Make them feel validated & valued. Show affection. Make a connection over something they love. Take time to…

Confession: You Need a Marriage Outside of Your Kids
“Marriage is like a flower. You need to nourish, water & nurture it for it to grow & flourish.”-MilkMadeConfessions One of our favorite day date places ❤️ Let me start by saying WE LOVE OUR CHILDREN. We love them so much… but, we know one day they will be all grown up & we will be empty nesters. I’ve seen so many couples (my parents included) who divorce after their children are grown. I…

Confession: I Have A Hard-Working Husband
It’s close to 9 p.m. & my husband is still at work. He was due home about 4 hours ago and won’t be home anytime soon. The world needs him, just like I do. His job is very essential & he loves what he does. His work ethic is incredible-he never slows down. It is days like today that I truly appreciate the man I married. He’s what you would call a “blue-collar” husband. He works full time (plus a…

Confession: I’m Teaching Responsibility
My oldest is 4 and it’s been very important for me to teach her to be independent and responsible. When she makes a mess, I expect her to help clean it up. She’s learning to open her own food packages and juice cartons. She puts most articles of clothing on by herself. During bath time she knows to put her dirty clothes in the hamper. She picks her own pjs and lays them out. I know the saying,…

Confession: Sometimes I Feel Depleted
Do you ever feel mentally depleted? Or Physically? Emotionally? Spiritually? My Daily Devotional reading today discussed how women feel physically and mentally drained from our day to day life, but that we can also become spiritually drained as well. The same way we call upon our family and friends to help in our life, we can call upon God to do the same. He hears our prayers & answers them in…

Confession: I’m Not a “Trendsetter” Mom…
I’m just your regular, average, every day mom. No fancy makeup. My nails aren’t done. I make it to the salon a few times a year. No extensions of any kind. I prefer baggy sweatshirts with leggings and boots/tennis shoes (my house shoes if I’m at home 😉). I’ve been doing my makeup the same way for longer than I like to admit. I don’t own one of those fancy Stanley cups. Even though I…

Confession: It’s Okay to Have Boundaries…
It’s okay to… •distance from toxic family members •say “no” •parent differently than your parents did •break generational conceptions •stand firm in your beliefs •speak up when it is necessary •support your children in ways you were not •love out loud •parent your child(ren) how you see fit 😊

Confession: I’m The Oldest Sibling
The first. The protector. The leader. The family manager. The shoulder that gets cried on. The listening ear. The realist. The planner. The caretaker. The reasoner. The challenger. The guide. The best friend for life. ❤️

Confession: I’m Not Ashamed of My Anti-Depressant
Prozac is my best friend. It saved me from myself and has helped me battle multiple demons the past few years. The Pandemic was my Mental Health breaking point. Working as a nurse full time was slowly killing my soul. That & trying to conceive my second child was just becoming unbearable to deal with. I knew I needed help. I spoke with my doctor & that’s when I was prescribed Prozac. I…

“I’d be right here..”
Confession: If I Could Be Anywhere, It Would Be Here ❤️
I’d be right here. At home. With the people that matter most. ❤️ I’d be right here. Watching my girls grow & learn. Watching my oldest dance around the living room, playing dress up & singing at the top of her lungs. Watching my youngest smile in awe at her sister. I’d be right here. Cooking dinner for my family. Doing laundry for my hard-working husband. Cleaning up after my daughters. Caring…

Confession: I Ate Soggy Cereal
My mornings start early. While I am getting ready my daughter sleeps soundly, nestled right under the covers. I tiptoe around trying not to wake her. I make my way to the kitchen & prepare my lunch. After that, I began to make a bowl of cereal. I pour the cereal into the bowl & grab the milk from the fridge. As soon as the milk began to flow my daughter came walking down the hall into the…

Confession: My Thoughts Today...
Confession: My Thoughts Today…
It’s Valentine’s Day & all I bought for my daughter were 2 dinosaur (Valentine’s themed) cookies. She loved them, but we carried on playing, listening to music & dancing in the kitchen like any other day. It’s been a good day-without spending tons of money. You see, children don’t care how much money you spend on them…or yourself, really. They care about you-spending quality time together. They…

Your kids don’t care how much money you spend on your appearance. They don’t care how much you spend on them. They care about the warmth your love makes them feel. They care about enjoying memorable moments with you❤️
