Town Managers - Secret
Hey, it’s the Town Managers demo cassette. A friend recently asked me to upload a song from it for him, so I said to myself, “let’s just put the whole thing up!”

How ‘bout them Milkmen?
LOSSLESS DEAD MILKMEN SHOWS!
I’m in the process of uploading a bunch of lossless milkmen shows that I have on my harddrive. Once I have them all uploaded, I’ll be posting them to this really rad facebook group. Here are the shows that I have uploaded so far:
Dead Milkmen - 1986.02.12 Raji's Hollywood, CA
Dead Milkmen - 1986.09.21 Syracuse NY @ The Lost Horizon
Dead Milkmen - 1989.04.18 Liberty Lunch, Austin, TX
Dead Milkmen - 1989.06.05 Chestnut Cabaret, Philadelphia, PA
Dead Milkmen - 1991.02.19 Markthalle Hamburg, Germany
These shows are in the .flac lossless format. I recommend using foobar2000 to play flac. VLC should also work. A program such as winrar will be needed to extract the files from the .rar file.

Everything about this day was excellent, from having lunch with the band, getting to see Joe do a solo set backed by the rest of the milkmen in the afternoon, to this set to end the night. As I get ready to head to another Athens Popfest (unfortunately no Joe or Milkmen sets this year), I stop to remember just how perfect the final day of the Athens Popfest 2011 was.
Joe Jack Talcum - 2016.03.01 @ Union EAV in beautiful East Atlanta Village.
Joe Jack Talcum - March 1st, 2016 @ Union EAV - Atlanta, GA I’ll be posting the video of the show sometime tomorrow.
I was 13 years old when The Dead Milkmen came to Providence to play the Living Room — not quite old enough to attend night-time shows in the big (ha!) city, so there was no showdown with my parents over whether or not I could go. We had to drive...
Rodney posted this link on Facebook and said “It's better than the White Album because my Dad's not on the cover of the White Album.“
Perhaps he’s right.
Hey, I know that it’s been ages since I’ve posted anything. I’m sorry about that. Job’s been keeping me busy and all that. Anyways, here’s a song that I really love from the first Ornamental Wigwam tape, which was a group that Joe and Dave had back in the 80′s. Punk Rock Girl was originally by them, and they also did an early recording of The Puking Song. They’re pretty cool. Also, I’m going to be seeing Joe Jack Talcum play in a few weeks. I’ll probably film it and post it when that happens. MOO!

STONEY'S EXTRA STOUT (PIG) ROUGH MIXES!
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, Freaky Festivus, or whatever you do or don’t celebrate…
This is something that Joe offered from April 1 - April 15 2011, and I have shared one of the tracks from this before, but I just uploaded the whole thing for everyone’s enjoyment.
These rough mixes are definitely a bit rawer than the final album because, well, they’re rough mixes. Also, there are differences, things were changed from these mixes and the final album. Give this a listen. These are MP3 files converted from the original FLAC download. I will post the FLAC files as soon as they finish uploading.
***EDIT: FUCK A RHINOCEROS, THE ORIGINAL LINK POSTED DOES NOT WORK! HERE IS A CORRECT LINK!***

To quote the April 2011 newsletter about these:
I have not gotten around to posting the ‘Bootleg of the Month’ for April yet. I hope to get that posted by the end of this weekend. However, I do have a special treat for you dear Newsletter subscribers. I have posted the early “rough” mixes for one of the most beloved Dead Milkmen albums, ‘Stoney’s Extra Stout (Pig)’. This popular album was recorded mostly at Sigma Sound Studio One, which was a somewhat famous recording studio in Philadelphia (no longer there). The studio was the first one in the United States to use console automation. It became associated with the Philadelphia International Soul sound, and it as it was where many of the Gamble and Huff hits were recorded. It is also where David Bowie recorded his ‘Young Americans’ album. The mixes I posted are from the initial basic tracking sessions.
I’m going to search through my Milkmen collection and see if there’s anything else wild and crazy that has not been widely circulated before to share during this holiday season. There might be a Jiffy Squid tape in everyone’s future.
Here’s the FLAC download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/dn2sh01a123a81i/
Here’s something for those who missed it last year. Enjoy!
Joe Jack Talcum “Talk” from his “Home Recordings 1984-’97” album. This was always my favorite song from the collection and also noticed that it wasn’t represented on YouTube, so I uploaded it.
I love Talk. I should take this time to link to the tape that it was originally on, Smile. It’s one of my favorites, and Joe has the full tape up on his page, ripped directly from the master DAT. http://jacktalcum.com/smile.html
Here is your chance to own a little something interesting that was used in a Dead Milkmen music video. Joe Jack Talcum likes selling things for charity on ebay, and he recently put this copy of Eat Your Paisley up for auction. The front and back covers are separated from each other, and the auction’s description states:
The front cover was separated and mounted on a book that was used in the Dead Milkmen video for the song "The Thing That Only Eats Hippies".
There’s been a live cover of Astro Zombies that the Dead Milkmen did that has been floating around the internet for years. There is also this 4-track version that they did that might not be as widely circulated. I can’t find the notes from the tape that this came from right now, but if I remember correctly, this was recorded on their tour bus during the Metaphysical Graffiti tour.
And that’s it for tonight. If I can keep motivated, I’ll have a lot more from where this came from.
WHERE DID THIS COME FROM????

Let’s go the Sandbar!
Uhh, uhh. What’s the Sandbar?
Oh... umm... it’s a place that lets sixteen-year-old kids drink.
