My favourite detail about Beauty and the Beast is that itâs Belle who initiates the iconic dance scene.
Itâs such an iconic and memorable scene thatâs itâs easy to overlook how it started, and misremember it. Recently I remembered it as them coming down the stairs together and heading straight for the ballroom, as if their night together was always going to be the dance, but no. They head to the dining hall together to have dinner and itâs Belle who grabs the Beast and makes him dance with her.
And itâs the way heâs genuinely surprised by this, and has to slowly ease himself into the dance because he hasnât done it in forever, and Belle doesnât notice and just rests her head on his chest like oh manâŠ
It also adds onto my theory that I have, that the curse had a very specific requirement and Belle literally had to say âI love youâ to break it, instead of it just knowing, because I do genuinely think she loved him by this point, yet he only turns human again after she verbally says it.
What if Ran gets Conan a BLAHAJ plush because she remembered that Shinichi once told her that detectives are like sharks and Conan doesnât have any plushies.

And yet, upon learning that Irisâone of his dearest and most cherished friendsâhad ascended to the title of Unova Champion, and at such a remarkably young age, he found himself, for once, at a loss for words.
Accomplishment. Admiration. Amazement. These were just a few of the terms that came to mindâand that was only the first letter of the alphabet. Yet, none of them quite captured the scope of his feelings.
Apprehension.
The weight of responsibility, the magnitude of power, when paired with her unshakable sense of justiceâwell, that could be perilous. For him, mostly. Iris has a remarkable talent for entangling herself in trouble, and an even greater one for dragging him into it. And he, regrettably, has a tendency to let her.
âThe village kids said those Team Plasma goons wouldâve brought the kidnapped Gible here,â Iris murmurs, gaze fixed beyond the rusting chain-link fence, toward the dilapidated warehouse looming in the distance.
Cilan squirms uneasily at her side. âI donât know about this, IrisâŠâ he says. âThis feels far better suited to Officer Jenny than toâwellâus.â
She lands on the other side with catlike precision and faces him. âWell, are you coming?â
Of course heâs coming. Unova Champion or not, she canât go at this alone.
Cilan exhales through his nose, equal parts dread and resignation, then hoists himself up after her. His foot snags halfway, and his descent to the other side is far less elegant: more flail than finesse, with a graceless thud to punctuate it.
His world spins in kaleidoscopic splendor, and when his gaze regains its focus, he finds Irisâs maroon eyes trained directly on him. She looks worried at first, but when back to his senses, the expression melts into its familiar exasperation.
âYou know, if we get caught, Iâm blaming you,â she sighs.
She turns and continues onward. Cilan glowers after her and, wobbling, stands to dust himself off.
âWhy do you even bring me along for these things?â he complains. âI specialize in many areasâculinary arts, detective work, rapid transitâand vigilantism is certainly not one of them.â
Iris halts mid-step. She glances back at him, blinking.
âBecause I canât imagine doing this without you,â she says as though it were the most obvious matter in the world.
Cilan stares back at her, mouth slightlyâunflatteringlyâajar.
Iris coughs and faces forward again. âAnyway, itâs not really vigilantism if youâre with me, so⊠let's go.â
She moves on without delay. And, as always, he follows, words failing him in a way only Iris ever manages.
Iâll consider this Kogomegure gay matching from 2025. I think Eri is adopting another husband at home, Midori is getting a girlfriend, Ran another dad, Conan too.
Jokes aside, it kills me how they are above the couple par excellence.
My favourite part about their early interactions is Kogoro being such a dork and wanting to show off his skills, whereas Megure canât care less shjshshsh. Proceeds to brazenly ignore him lol.
And whatâs even funnier is that if you just put the episode on rallenty, you will notice all the hues of Megureâs DONE expressions.
