maybe i was a little late on the pick up here but the dynamic between jinshi and maomao is using tamaki and haruhi's dynamic as a blueprint and I'm ashamed it took 5ever to realise.

So uh, Maomao (from The Apothecary Diaries) is kinda sorta an ace sexual, hear me out cause I've heard a lot of hate on the idea. I really do think this and it's my option >:D for those who don't know ace sexual means not liking people romantically, or in a sexual way. ^^ Anyways, one reason is because she can casually look at someone's build or body without really thinking much of it, only the worth and what they can get from it. Now I'm all for Maomao and Jinshi, like I have lost sleep over them, but I dislike how he goes on top of her, or forces himself onto her, she does seem pretty uncomfortable when he does it and had considered kicking his "frog." Also, when they were in the hole and the dog came and jumped on Jinshi, Maomao hugged the dog because it saved her. LIKE I REALLY LOVE THIS SHIP AND YOU WILL CATCH ME DAYDREAMING ABOUT IT BUT MAOMAO SEEMS SO UNINTERESTED. I feel like that was it, it was more of a rant than headcanons, thank you for reading all of this >:D If you do have any counterclaims, I'm all ears! This is also from the anime so please don't give me any spoilers ^^

Maomao/Shisui/Jinshi, regardless of context, is a ship i want to work as a throuple, even though I know it probably wouldn't (throuple in this context just means both S & J are both dating Maomao, just not each other)

It's just these two rich kids competing for Maomao's attention.

Shisui gives her bugs and trivia while Jinshi gives her rare medicine and mysteries and both of them are drowning her in jewelry, most of which she's selling.

Though I could see Maomao, in some contexts/aus, once she figures all of it out, going full bisexual greed and making it work.
