"So this is where you want to meet? In a park in the dark? That's totally not ominous..."
“The news is junk,” Joe grunted as he tugged on his suit coat, before sitting beside her “-listen. I know this is weird. You got Bruce… Big Green, and now me t’deal with. If you want, when I’m around, I don’t gotta stick here.. I can’t head off.”
"I've sort of given up on what's weird and what's normal these days," she gave him a slight smile as he sat behind her. "It's like, everything was weird and that became normal," she explained before shrugging. "But I like having you around."
“So apparently Danny Rand is back in New York…”
“Yeah? What good does that do me, dollface?” Joe was adjusting his tie while Bruce’s wife… his wife. Whatever, explained “-you want me to rough up the Kung-Fu kid?”
"No- what? No I was just reading about it in the news!"
“So apparently Danny Rand is back in New York...”
“Oh Justin, do you really think Tony believes that?”
“Why would Tony give me a restraining order?”
“Because you’re an idiot, Justin, Tony doesn’t want anything to do with you.”
“Why does everyone keep asking me if I’ve hired someone to do my job yet? I can still do my job after I have the baby.”
“Everyone assumes you’re going to be taking maternity leave, which I still say is something you should do since we have no idea how much of a toll the birth of this baby will take on you, but that’s just my two cents’ worth.”
“I know honey, but it’s like you said, we don’t know how much of a toll it’ll take. I have a few different people who are picking up the majority of my work, but I think I can do the emails and the phone meetings while the baby sleeps- if she sleeps as much as Reagan did anyways.”
“Why does everyone keep asking me if I’ve hired someone to do my job yet? I can still do my job after I have the baby.”

“My father’s specialty was steak and potatoes.” Minnie smiled. “I spent a lot of time on the road with him, when I was a teenager I rode horses in the rodeo, and whenever we’d stop he’d be cooking steak and potatoes, what is it with men of that generation’s obsession with read meat and potatoes?” She chuckled. “But yeah, I know what you mean.”
At the thought of more heroes coming out of the woodwork Minnie sighed thoughtfully. “With more heroes we’re going to have to have some way for accountability for the heroes. Like how everyone else has accountability for their jobs. I know it’s an unpopular opinion,” she admitted. “And it must seem like the last one I would have considering who my husband is, but I honestly think with so many people becoming heroes and everything, there needs to be some sort of regulations or something.”
She sighed. She had heard these rumours for a while, and she had argued with Scott about what they felt the right move was. If she was honest, she was still torn. Minnie’s words sunk in for a moment before she finally said her thoughts.
“My mother worked for SHIELD in the old days,” she said, “And in some way I guess it was the closest we had to the some kind of regulation, if we can even call it that. She still ended up lost to us. Perhaps we do need a greater power, not just a body like SHIELD, but someone really watching us, looking for accountability. But then I suppose, if my father and mother were registered, my father would have been sent to jail… Some of these heroes are good men, and we wouldn’t have them if they had to give up their identities. But…”
She sighed.
“It’s no easy argument.”
"My grandmother worked for SHIELD back in the old days as well, my grandfather was one of the men Cap saved from the POW camp." She told Hope, sipping her iced tea as she thought about it. "I agree, it is a hard argument, and I don't agree or disagree with either side, but I think that someone, not the government, not SHIELD, someone else who can be the ones to hold people accountable for their actions, that would be useful at least." She shrugged before looking up when the waitress came over with their check.
She pulled her credit card out of her purse and handed it to the waitress before smiling at Hope. "I hope this conversation doesn't make you not want to talk to me again." She chuckled.

Minnie smiled at Natasha's jokes before shrugging. "Hey it's good to keep up with those skills." She pointed out. "And besides you can do the French Braids Reagan loves that I can't do at all." Minnie reminded her with a smile.
Minnie knew that Natasha must be feeling a bit bad about the number of children in the tower and it made her feel bad, she wished she could do something- anything to make her friend feel better about it, but she knew there was nothing she personally could do. "So I was wondering, when I go in to have the baby, would you be able to watch Reagan since Bruce is going with me?" She asked. Natasha always seemed to be in a better sort of mood when she'd spent time with Reagan who loved her aunt Natasha.

Minnie nodded as she looked at Hope, understanding her reaction. She hadn’t meant to upset the other woman, but she was right. And Minnie refused to do that to her girls.
She chuckled when Hope asked if Tony was repainting the Iron Man suits before shaking his head. “No, I think he’d rather try and braid the Hulk’s hair.” She grinned. “In case you haven’t noticed he’s a bit stuck in the red and gold, but um, I’m not sure what they’re working on to be honest. Bruce and Tony have been working on some stuff for the past couple weeks and you know, they try to tell me, but… I don’t know, I’m not a scientist.” She chuckled. “I’ll stick to making sure the company stays standing after they destroy a building in battle or something.” She shook her head.
She smiled as she took a bite of her food. “As long as he doesn’t repaint my suit… I’m fairly sure I’ll be alright. Perhaps I’ll find out what the boys have to say, translate it for you in terms that aren’t quite so painful to the ear.”
In the little moments like this she was reminded of Scott. Silly Scott, always picking up the pieces after the people he cared about, sod it if he knew everything that was going on.
“This food is great, Minnie,” she said, “Thanks for suggesting we come here.”
"I'm sure he'll leave your suit alone." Minnie laughed. When Hope offered to translate she chuckled and shrugged. "If it's something you think I really should know about, then sure." She nodded.
"Mm, the food here is great isn't it? I'm a big fan of French cuisine, my grandparents in my mom's side were from France. I've never been, but I'm dying to." Minnie smiled. "Maybe after the baby gets a little older I'll be able to convince Bruce the four of us should go." She shrugged with a hopeful smile.

Minnie smiled a little at that and shrugged. “I just know that it needs to be done, and he’s my husband. I’ll do whatever I can to help him.” She told him with a smile. “Just like I know he’d do whatever needed to be done to help me.”
When Hope made the comment about learning from Reagan Minnie laughed and nodded. “I’ve found when it comes to Tony, I have to be stern with him, but nothing like Pepper, you know.” She shrugged. “It was a bad breakup, best not to mention it.” She lowered her voice slightly.
Hope frowned, a little surprised. “They broke up? There hasn’t been anything about that in the tabloids,” she took a forkful of her food. “Thanks for telling me, I’ll be sure not to say a thing.”
She took a forkful of food. “You know - Pepper wasn’t too bad in the field, even if that wasn’t on purpose. Have you ever thought about trying it?”
"Oh yeah, it was a thing." Minnie nodded. "He's actually a lot happier now though honestly." She added with a smile. "I'm happy that he's happy and while Pepper was my friend, I never really liked the two of them together."
At the question of thinking about being in the field Minnie shook her head. "I've got a daughter, and another one on the way. I don't think I could get involved in anything like that for the sake of my girls. It's going to be hard enough with one parent out saving the world, I don't think they could handle both doing that. Bruce has a healing factor, the Hulk, he heals Bruce. I don't have anything like that, and I would hate for my girls to grow up with no mother." She sighed.

After ordering their food Minnie smiled at the thigh of teaching Hope to cook and nodded. “Of course, I love to cook, I’d love to teach you.” She grinned. “I don’t find cooking any trouble- unless of course Bruce decides he’s in a clingy mood, or that he needs to eat the ingredients I need while my back is turned.” She shrugged.
When Hope said Bruce was lucky to have her she smiled and ran her thumb over her phone screen. “I’m lucky to have him too. Not all men would have accepted a woman with a child steady in their lives.” She said before she explained. “I have a daughter from a previous relationship.”
Hope smiled. “Have you ever worked with him? He must be fascinating to work with. I hope to, one day,” she said. She cocked her head in interest. “You do?” she asked, as watched the waiter out of the corner of her eye.
“Bruce Banner needs some good PR,” she said quietly. “It seems the public just don’t understand what a kind person he is.”
"Oh no, not really, I mean, I work with him, but in a um... A different level." She explained. "I help with his anger, and his control, and I um, when he has a Code Green as we call them, I help settle him down and talk the Hulk into changing back." She smiled a little. "I'm nowhere near smart enough to work in the lab."
When Hope asked about her daughter she nodded with a happy smile before pulling up a picture of Reagan on her phone. "This is Reagan, she's seven." She explained. "She's a little terror, but she's adorable." She grinned. "She's got Bruce and Tony wrapped around her little finger, it's adorable."
