Hi! I adore your Coco art (and honestly all of your art) it is so gorgeous!! Would you consider adding it to your inprnt? Sorry if it's too early to ask
hi there!! thank u so much 🥹 and no worries at all about sending this ask
i'm trying to update my inprnt in batches as opposed to whenever the individual piece goes up on my social media accounts, so she'll be up one day, just not rn! sorry for any inconvenience with it, but thank u for the interest and support!
hello mint! I am another spontaneous artist, and I was wondering what your art process is like--i.e. do you begin with any sketch, how do you lay down colors, what do you seek out for in a composition, and so on.
additionally, your rendering is so gorgeous! how do you clean up a drawing and render it? I've always been great at starting my pieces wild and messy, but I always struggle with cleaning that mess up into something more "professional". 〒▽〒
thank you for taking the time to answer. keep up the gorgeous art! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
hi there!! and tysm!!!
i always start with a rough line sketch and i start color blocking everything right after that with super super rough ideas of the shading/ any patterning etc. usually i have a good idea of the kind of palette i want to use at this point; even if i end up changing things, for me it's just best to lay down the ideas first and then actively edit as i go.
hmm composition wise, i try to make sure i already know what my central figure(s) are, what the main visual elements are + any symbolism i want to use. if the composition is more complicated, i'll sometimes adjust placements and what not as i go. if i'm feeling crazy, i'll straight up experiment more w the composition even after i've rendered a few things. whenever i feel like i finished something, i always look at it on my laptop screen so i can see if there's anything that needs further refinement. usually i'll make notes and then head back to my ipad to work on it lol
i get the struggle with seeking the 'more professional' look!!! my pieces look like a mess when im colorblocking stuff lol over time, becoming a lot more confident with mark making helped; like being more intentional with how i was shading things in. also lowkey, i think being very aware of how ur brushes work, whether or not it's worth experimenting with others to achieve something closer to what u envisioned, or just understanding how to use ur current arsenal better in relation to ur style.
omg this ended up being super long... but i hope this answers ur q!! u got this! ( ◡̀_◡́)ᕤ

Have you thought about making speedpaints of your art? (I mean like a proper YouTube speedpaint with a screen recording and music, not just a 30 second auto generated timelapse)
Your art is genuinely breathtaking and I think it would be even more beautiful to watch how they get made.
- Sincerely a Speedpaint fanatic
hi there!! thank u so much!!
hmmm i used to think about doing something like that, but now i think my working style is unfortunately too sporadic for me to ever think about recording every time i were to work on a piece for a speed paint 😭😭 sorry!!!

hiiiii i've put this piece + qifrey's piece on inprnt if anyone's interested ◡̈
Hi mint! I really love your One Piece art, and I'm planning to buy your Thriller Bark print/poster on INPRNT, but I was wondering if you'd consider adding your "Escape from Dracule Manor" piece to INPRNT as well, Iove it so much and would reeaaally like to buy it. Thanks and also thanks for all your great art!!
hi there!! unfortunately that was part of an art trade, so it won’t be available on inprnt 🥹 thank u so much for the interest though!! i rly liked that one too!!
All of your kirumade hoodies seem to have the main graphic on the back. Is there a chance that there will ever be version made with the main image on the front, even if the pocket makes the image smaller?
hi there!! unfortunately no, as i’m no longer actively partnering with kirumade, whatever’s currently on the store is pretty much it!! sorry about that
hi your art is so wonderful!! i just wanted to share my love and encourage you to keep creating because its so beautiful <333
hi!!! thank u so much 🥹🥹❤️❤️❤️ i will keep at it!
Hellooo, I always struggle with compositions specially complicated ones. My friend commissioned a dark biblical horror illustration and I’d like to hear some composition tips from you
hi there!! sorry for the belated response!!
hmm.... honestly i still struggle with this too alksjfs i tend to think of composition in a more thematic sense first and foremost and then toiling over the layout/positioning later... i'm not exactly sure if there's anything in particular u're looking for but i'll give two overarching tips:
when starting out i kind of find it important to break it down like this: what's the narrative u're trying to tell? then, what's the central focus, what's the emotion there? after that, u can start figuring out the visual elements that form the building blocks for this. even do research to see if there's anything else u can pull from it; symbolism, any other interesting links u can make to strengthen the visual narrative. i feel like it's good to do so, especially with that kind of theme for the commission, there's a wealth of visual language to parse through. i find it easier to bank a lot of information first and then slowly cut through it when i start working on the thing.
thumbnail sketches help, as it forces u to simplify these elements into shapes and it makes it easier visualize what the general composition may look like. if the composition still feels indecipherable, maybe colorblock it. u will be able to get a better feel of how ur use of negative space/positive space looks like this way.
i hope this helps!! sorry again for the late response
Have you been creatively blocked? How do you "retrieve" your love for art and continue to create?
hello!! yes i have, several times
usually consuming other forms of art helps for me. like reading a book, manga, comics or even playing video games. lowkey even doing exercise haha it's pretty much anything to keep my mind off the fact that i have an art block or keeping myself away from trying to force ideas. being too cognisant of having an art block is what usually drives me into a downward spiral.
when i find i still have the motivation to create something, without knowing what the hell to do bcos i am still somewhat creatively blocked, trying to just do things based off prompts or series works. i used to joke that tarot cards are just one long list of prompts, but honestly it's true! u have a foundation to build ideas from, u instinctively start brainstorming based on the available symbolism and meaning behind the cards and u sort of start working that creative muscle to eventually put pen to paper and create something.
this answer ended up being kind of long LOL but hopefully this helps!
