The fact that hugging makes Qifrey comfortable enough to cause the silverwood come alive and grow, means Qifrey LIKES hugging.
Imagine having a friend you hold so dearly but you can't hug him because it hurts and could quite literally kill you

Something that has been on my mind ever since catching up on the manga is how similar Qifrey actually is to Beldaruit.
Like picture this okay?
Despite it being against the rules and people telling him not to, Qifrey took Coco in to teach her. (Yes, for selfish reasons, but that is not the point here.)
Beldaruit did EXACTLY the same when Qifrey was found as a little Lad. He was an unknowning like Coco. Beldaruit let him keep his existing memories and took him in as his Apprentice.
THEY'RE FATHER AND SON I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL
The urge to talk and talk and talk and TALK about Qifrey is consuming me. Why must he be so amazing.
