Hello all! Long freaking time no see! As soon as I started college my free time became almost nonexistent, and I haven't had time to follow Tumblr or Zuka in ages. The thought of how much I know I must have missed already is terrifying... but that's a problem for a later time. I promise I haven't forgotten you guys, though. I need some advice, and I didn't know of a better group of people to consult (assuming anyone is still here on Tumblr :P). I have to go to a wedding this summer. I hate weddings. I hate dressing up. I hate dresses. I don't want to wear a normal kind of dress like I'm sure my conservative extended family expects me to wear, but I also don't want to embarrass the bride and groom (who probably don't give a crap what I wear, but their parents will). If I could summon any outfit of my choice it would be some Zuka-style suit with a long coat, but that would be impossible to find, embarrass my family, not suit my build, etc. etc. I've joked that I'm going to wear a slacks with a swishy dress and a suit jacket, but that would DEFINITELY embarrass my family and look quite silly as well, I'm sure. I'll probably try to see if I can pull off a suit without looking ridiculous, but I thought I'd come here to see if anyone has any specific suggestions. I want to wear something that a) looks decent, b) incorporates some kind of gender role mix/resistance, and c) doesn't expose my underwear to the air (which is exactly my view of dresses - I just can't stand that after wearing pants my whole life :P). Any ideas? This would be easier if I were slimmer, but I have Hulk shoulders, no waist, and freakish proportions, not to mention a few extra pounds (which I'm working on losing, but it's a long battle). I figure Zuka fans, especially since I know some of you cosplay, would have the best chance at having ideas as to how to pull this off!
