i am so tired

of putting so much into something we both know will never happen

but i keep hoping & praying this will turn into something more beautiful than what we have had for the past few months

because God crossed our paths for a reason right?

this wasn’t a coincidence or some weird stumble 

this was supposed to happen

but i don’t know why just yet

i think the scariest part of interracial marriages is acceptance and validation from family. for me, i only need my parents to accept the relationship and i’ll be happy with their validation lol the rest of my family can suck it

it’s still scary though - to bring home a man that’s nowhere near your skin color, your background, your culture. but i guess there’s also beauty in that struggle - the fact that love always wins, no matter how much we or anyone else fights it. 

i’m just glad my mom has told me 1000 times over that, “when two people love each other, there’s no reason for me to say no”. she was my validation that an interracial marriage was going to be okay (also i’ve been preparing her for the past two years by firmly stating, “I’m not going to marry a brown boy”)
