Dean: So. What’s the plan? Cas: I don’t have one. Guess I’ll just… Cas: *shows wings* Wing it. Dean: … Cas: *gestures to shoulders* Just wing it. Dean: … Dean: I don’t want to alarm you or anything, but I think we might be soulmates.

the thing abt ruby supernatural that you all forget bc she's hot and evil girlboss slayqueen is that within the extremely abusive hierarchical power structure of demon world she is not the boss of anybody. she is a girlservant. she's an extremely ambitious underling. she is sexually subjugated by astaroth and Alastair and for most of her time on screen she is visibly terrified of being tortured and murdered. she is a religious fanatic hurling herself at martyrdom willing to give anything to the God she's chosen up to and including her literal physical flesh. She has no friends. she is so fucking interesting.
spn season 1 said we are going to give the smart and sensitive one a simmering rage just below the surface and we are going to imbue the tough devil-may-care one with a quiet reserve of vulnerablity. this will give disorders to no 14 year olds
Hey guys remember how Dean only holds Cas when he thinks he’s lost him
deab
GOD!!!! i love it when the angels are introduced in supernatural and in walks cas thee el and you’re like oh so that’s what angels are like and then it’s like no!!! that’s just what cas is like. he’s weird and gay and pretty much every other angel could pass as a human but this one will put a massive handprint on the guy he has a crush on and regularly get idioms wrong
#he’s so fucking funny like lucifer who has been trapped in the pit since the beginning is like [star wars reference] [idiom] [joke] #and castiel is like “i don’t know who luke solo is and i don’t care <3” @dragdean i love your tags
thinking about that post that said the real horror of spn was the ways abuse will resurface and thinking about how season 1 is so explicitly intensely overwhelming about domestic violence and abuse in the home…………….there’s something in the pipes, there’s something in the walls, there’s something in the closet the children see at night. we know, but we can never say it
And then you'd kill the angel, Castiel. Now, that one… that I suspect would hurt something awful.
I don't know how to explain it coherently but Dean is an empathetic person who uses a pragmatic mask to try and convince himself that he is unaffected so he doesn't have a breakdown whereas Sam is a pragmatic person who uses an empathetic mask to force himself to be affected because he could easily just move on if needed and they're both trauma responses and it's also the reason why they fundamentally misunderstand each other all the time
never not thinking about Jo's 'this might literally be your last chance to treat me like an adult'. character who spends her entire time on screen frantically scrambling to earn the badass action hero cowboy gravitas that Dean tosses around effortlessly. simultaneously sexualized and infantilized by everyone she meets. literally every scene is about her perceived or actual vulnerability. and then as she's lying there bleeding out she's like I can still fight the good fight I can be a human bomb only in death can I finally be recognized as the toughest motherfucker in this room mom hey mom does this finally make me an adult??? female martyrdom as a kind of coming of age ritual

I think the fact that Dean tore purgatory apart looking for cas and refused to leave without him while Cas purposely stayed away from Dean to keep him safe really describes the very essence of their relationship.
#it really does doesn't it#that's what you get when a sword falls in love with a shield I guess#spn (via @ilarual)
i love s6 destiel. "me and dean do share a more profound bound", "cas get out of my ass" "i was never in your...", "youre just a baby in a trench coat", "the worst part was dean trying so hard to be loyal" okay you couldve painted your skin all colors of the rainbow and it wouldve been less obvious
Inspired by this post
the thing i will never understand is how people are so offended by the idea of destiel. what about it is offensive. the insinuation your faves might be into men? middle aged men in love?
"they didn't play it that way" and??? "they said dean is straight" and?? how is it disrespectful to interpret him as bi or gay? what is disrespectful about this interpretation?
if you don't ship it and don't see it that's one thing. if you don't like the ship that's fine too. but why are you trying to defend a fictional character's honor that needs no defending.
