Wonder.
Where have we gone wrong?
Look I get it, you want your child to recieve special attention. You want them to be smart and educated. I mean what loving parent wouldn’t. But memorizing their periodic tables and memory verses would only take them so far. What about developing their sense of critical thinking, amazement, awe,or imagination? What happened to building interpersonal connections and social skills?
Perhaps just something is causing America to lack behind in “developed” countries. Perhaps, it all stems from our education (or lack of thereof). Maybe, we as teachers, need to motivate children to develop grit. OR maybe parents should stop relying on teachers to teach their children good disciple and habits and do so themselves. Maybe parents should try to understand their child’s needs by actually talking to their kids.
OH NO, but your child is a precious angel who only needs to learn trignometry and quantum physics. Go for it, you could teach your child trig and physics if it’s that important to you. However, to me, your child needs you to talk to them most.
