There once was a land in a world so close but far away. A world different than the one we know.
The land was home to many beings that knew nothing but ecstasy. They were happiness itself, and we had no knowledge of them.
They bathed in the warmth of the happy sun, while we sunk in the darkness of corruption, anger, and sadness.
What would we have done if we knew of their existence? Would we have hunted them down like hungry wolves in the night? Were we desperate to share their joy, or did we want to greedily steal it away from them? What if we were aware that we caused their disappearance?
That land existed in a world inside our hearts. Happiness was always in our hands, but we decided to lock it up inside ourselves for eternity till it started to wither away.
The creatures that inhabited the land started to fall ill one by one until there was no one left. The plants were dying alongside their caretakers leaving the animals with no food. The land was washed away by the sorrows that plagued the once bright and warm world.
The world, empty and lifeless, remains. It hopes that one day it’s people will return. It promises to forgive them for abandoning it. Clueless and hopeful, it waits unconditionally.
