Tagging system:

Pollum stood rigid, incapable of moving, not even the muscles of his face could muster the strength to react. Logically, he knew he was exposed to attack, the same one that he was now left seeing the results of.

Bodies of young boys and girls were strewn accross the street, blood blotched and staining the bitumen. This was the reality of heroism, the reality of magical boys and girls.

A violent, ugly death. Ones that will be used to manipulate more into the system. Shiny, star-spangled propaganda for children to eat up and aspire to achieve.

No matter how many times he falls victim to the sight, he can never get used to it.

Being a hero means pain. Being a hero means violence. Being a hero means death.

At 19 Pollum is lucky to still be alive, the reality of magical boys and girls being that they rarely live past 15. But being alive just means baring witness to more. It gets tiring, but being a hero doesn't come with days off. If you get a call, you go.

That is why Pollum was there. He got a call.

At 1 am a second wave of magical teens had been requested, the first failing to stop the current villain from contuing their attack on the city. The boys and girls had fought since 11am the previous day, and their efforts turned to cold bodies in the street. Doing your best means nothing if you dont win in this job.

He shook his head and moved onward. He ignored the bodies, scared he would recognise a face, a friend. His team partner, Kai, walked behind him, keeping just as quiet.

Now wasn't the time for talking.

Now was the time for listening, and preparedness.
