When will the revolution come?
I think it's here. A revolution isn't when everyone collectively wakes up one day and goes "time to destroy the government", a revolution is just a series of events grouped together that we will call a revolution later. They take time. French revolution? 10 years. American revolution? 7 years. We're already underway - maybe we have been since as early as the BLM protests in 2020. What we need to do now is just do our part and build momentum
The consistent dehumanization language used in describing Palestinians in western media is unfathomable. The consistent denial of seeing our children as children. For everybody seeing this, don't fall into this, seek out the truth and educate yourself because that's the best and only way we can help people in Palestine. We have to amplify their voices.
DON'T LET THEM FOOL YOU, COOP. CEASEFIRE IS NOT THE END GOAL, IT IS THE BARE MINIMUM. THE END GOAL IS EVERY PALESTINIAN HOME REBUILT, THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE'S RIGHT TO SELF-DETERMINATION, LAND BACK, OLIVE GROVES THRIVING. ARE YOU LISTENING, COOP? THE END GOAL IS DECOLONISATION.
Women are bearing the brunt of the vicious war in Sudan. The world should not look away.

@hausofriya: Seeing the way Palestinians joy is being heavily policed & criminalized just reminds me how fucking political joy actual is. Oppressors hate seeing your spirit filled with joy. They need you to be broken & bruised.
“but seeing it makes me uncomfortable” GOOD. the mass murder of thousands of people should make you uncomfortable. genocide should make you uncomfortable. you don’t think the people laying under the rubble of their destroyed homes and communities are uncomfortable? you don’t think the people who are walking miles to find any sort of safety only to get bombed and/or shot to death are uncomfortable? you don’t think the people in burning hospitals are uncomfortable? you don’t think the people being deafened by bombs and air strikes are uncomfortable?
anyway in the past week the irish government has voted down two motions which would have condemned the genocide in gaza.
i need everyone to stop lionising ireland as if its not also a european government with strong ties to the us. american weapons pass through shannon airport and will continue to, because yesterday the motion to stop that was voted down 83 to 50.
other governments have done much more but somehow people still act as though ireland is the ultimate palestinian ally and exempt from criticism on its handling of palestine bc it was once colonised, even though that past experience clearly isnt being taken into account by the irish government when creating policy.
i live here i know there’s a lot of public support and sympathy for palestine, which is great, but that isnt reflected in government, and i think ireland should be treated like other countries whose governments have done nothing.
Armenians have lived in Jerusalem for 1,600 years and Armenian Palestinians are the oldest group in the Armenian diaspora. From their indigenous land in Artsakh to the Armenian Quarter in Jerusalem, Armenians have been facing ethnic cleansing and persecution on multiple fronts. With the escalating genocidal violence in Gaza and the West Bank, armed settler encroachment into Armenian holdings in Jerusalem has fallen under the radar of some pro-Palestine activism and it is critical we do not allow this to happen.
Some context:
( In 1948, Armenians in Jerusalem numbered about 16,000. Today, that number has shrunk; estimates range from 700-1000, with a smaller community in Bethlehem. )
“We are not the objectives of the Israelis, but we occupy a huge chunk of Jerusalem. The fact that we’re here is an obstacle for them, but we’ve been here for 1,600 years and we’re not going anywhere.” "These are only the most visible of the challenges facing the community....Israeli discrimination, economic decline, and political insecurity have taken a toll on Armenians, encouraging emigration. A century after the community was nearly annihilated, Armenian Palestinians today say they feel deeply at home in the Holy Land, but fear how much longer they will be able to hold on."
“Don’t ask me about the massacres that happened 100 years ago [1915],” Annie Guluzian said when asked about her experiences as an Armenian Palestinian. “I won’t open [up about] those topics. Because if I do, I will start talking about my brother who was martyred by the Israelis in the [second] Intifada.” The toll of the Israeli occupation in Palestine is what defines her life today, Guluzian added. Since October 26th, 2023, when the leader of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem announced it would cancel a once-secret 2021 land lease deal with a real estate company that has alleged links to settler interests, the company, Xana Gardens, has sent in armed settlers and bulldozers to steal the land (including Armenian Chruch property and several Armenian families). Armenians have been resisting the occupational forces day in and day out.

In response, Armenians have created an account on Twitter called SaveTheArq which has been documenting and updating on social media the recent land demolitions by Israeli settlers in the Armenian quarter, they have also launched a fundraiser for legal actions to protect the Armenian quarter and I highly recommend donating, if you can't, please share it around:
Support the historic effort to help the Armenian Community of the Old City of Jerusalem in the defense of its very survival and security.

white people stop talking.
and i don't mean stop talking about palestine or stop sharing news or information, i'm saying stop TALKING. you are not our white saviors. you should not talk over us. every single thing you guys are saying, palestinians have said it tenfold. stop feeling as though you are the spokesperson for all of palestine. you do not get to talk over palestinian voices. you must BOOST our voices. you must share OUR voices. you must speak OUT about SHARING our voices. we are and have been saying everything you're saying only now for 75 years. you don't get to prounce around all up here and claim you're suddenly a voice for palestinians. we have our own voices. we have said everything. stop taking the light away from us sharing our experiences and pretending as though you have a part or a role in talking about our grief.
we need people to share OUR voices. we need people to share OUR dreams. OUR lives. OUR strength. we do not need you to speak for us, we need you to help find a place for US to speak.
i'm so tired of the idea that "no one listens to the poc so we as white people must speak for them because everyone only listens to white people". i'm tired. MAKE THEM LISTEN TO US. do not speak for us, but share OUR voices. FORCE the world to LISTEN to US.
BOOST OUR VOICES. SHARE OUR STRUGGLES. OUR DREAMS. OUR STRENGTH. MAKE THEM LISTEN. MAKE THE WORLD LISTEN.
They are not just numbers that are meant to shock you when you hear the large amount of them. They are human beings with lives and they deserve to be remembered as such. Inna lilahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oun.
