Relationships Part 1
I know its been a little while since my last entry but, I had my plate a little fuller then usual. But, I thought it was important to talk about the difference between healthy and toxic relationships. Yes, bullies are toxic relationships. But, a toxic relationship can come in many forms. Talking to my best friend this week I never even thought about the fact that even handicapped individuals can be bullies. How? I am glad you asked. They have allowed life to make them that way. Yes, even you as a handicapped person can create toxic relationships. Most toxic relationships have two main people involved. The one who brings the negativity and the one absorbs it. The one who brings the negativity usually doesn't start in that position. But, everyone must aware of the signs of a toxic person. As well as the signs of becoming a toxic person.
Toxic People:
A toxic person will usually show you who they are in conversation, before they act. The topics of decision will include gossip, negativity about someone else and they are almost always involved in drama. They are always complaining with no reason to.Someone else is always the problem. They always want to talk about themselves. Anyone at one point in time can be classified as negative or toxic. I have been this person myself but, its those who choose to stay this way we must be careful of.
They have the ability to pull others into their way of thinking. As the saying goes, " misery loves company." They will find small ways to gain your trust. Like asking what boys you like. Or, what is your favorite fashion look. Once they have your trust, it may stay at that level but, some escalate. They graduate to manipulation. In those situations their behavior changes, they do things and have you believe they were thinking of you. For example, they are still talking to you like they normally would but, then you notice that the boy you said you liked now likes them. And, when you bring it up they respond with something like...." I was talking to him about you but, then he said you weren't his type so I hope you aren't mad." They are slowly transferring their negativity on to you. They want you to be as sad as them.
How do I get away from someone like that? Carefully. Toxic people will turn on someone who pulls away. This is the biggest reason why most girls fight " friends" However because you are handicapped and they don't want to seen as an evil person. They will become a bully who will hurt you with words and not violence. So, remember its okay to be nice to them but, everyone is not meant to be a friend.
Until Next Time Beautiful,
Miss. K
