made it to Outpost Panama, after a taxi ride, a night bus, another taxi, and two water taxis! I'm not disappointed.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BECKY!
the drop box.
let me begin by saying that I normally hate "inspirational" movies. they typically seem cheesy.
my friend, whitney, asked me earlier in the week if i wanted to come see The Drop Box with her. I said yes without even considering. (at this point, i've been home for a while now, sharing a car with my mom, and i love getting out with friends whenever the opportunity presents itself.)
then i heard it was a focus on the family movie. i got a little scared, but decided my chance to be social and get out of the house outweighed my usual disdain.
WOW. that's all i can say.
i found out real quick it was a documentary, which immediately peaked my interest. then i realized it was about south korea, and i love asia. THEN i realized, it was about a Minister.. you get the idea.
i haven't fully processed all of my emotions regarding all that i witnessed in the film, but i walked away with so much hope, yet so much burden at the same time. God's grace is so amazing that it can overcome any situation. this movie was a perfect exhibition of how God pours out his love through the people that love him. This man, Pastor Lee, has such a beautiful heart for his children and the children he rescues. he sees them as God sees each of us. that is an incredible thing. a powerful thing. to love someone else as God loves you is takes true revelation of his grace.
honestly, i just don't think i have what it takes to do what Pastor Lee does. it seems like the hardest thing in the world; however, i am so thankful that we all have a place within the kingdom, a calling for the heart of God. he has equipped us for whatever he is calling us to. that is grace.
that reminds me of the prophets in the bible. this past year, when i was studying the bible on Next Wave, we spent a good deal of time discussing the prophets. we went through each book and learned about who wrote it. i remember discussing jeremiah, and how he was nicknamed "the weeping prophet." his heart was mourning so much for judah that he just couldn't stand it. in talking about this with one of the staff, she mentioned that even though what the prophets did was really hard, God gave them the strength and the heart to carry on. he equipped them for their calling.
are you afraid of the calling God has placed on your life? i know i am sometimes, but God is so good, and we must trust that he is always equipping us for what he has called us to do.
I HAVE A NEW WEBSITE! the link is in my bio, so just head on over and read about what I do, who I work with, my blog, and I even a place to donate if you'd like! #YWAM
