i spent my whole life trying to fit into the box struggling to be the perfect child the perfect friend, the perfect lover never doing things i wanted to do never being who i was a poet? they’d say. that’s not a profession gay? they’d say. you haven’t found the right person
it felt like drowning faking it all smiling through the mask of being what i was expected to be until one day i realised the worst thing that i could do to myself was not being who i wanted to be that was ultraviolence and it wasn’t forgivable at all
